Thank you Camden, The main areas I know that have activities or unique areas is the Dix30 in Brossard, tons of shopping and restaurants and activities there. You can walk along the St-Laurence river as well near highway 132; There's the small town of Saint-Lambert thats pretty quaint, but these spots are quite far away from one another - but if you're looking for more F1 related activities, you'll definitely want to go to downtown Montreal! Hope you have fun! Congrats on winning the tickets!

The metro is fine to go to the track, but to come back from the track, a better way is simply to walk back. I find it a better alternative to waiting forever to get in the metro station when everyone is trying to leave the circuit at the same time. It is about one hour and half from the circuit to Old Montreal and it offers a great view of Montreal along the walk.
@CCF1channel
@CCF1channel 2 года назад
Fair! That is indeed an option, the view is nice of the city from the Concorde bridge and you'll get to pass by Habitat 67! - only reason I didn't mention it in the video is because it would be a lengthy walk and if families have their kids with them they may get tired; also the walk would lead them eventually to a more industrial / sea port section of Montreal, so it may be easier to get lost on your way back this way if you can't access your phone for directions. The longest bit to get back on the metro is to get passed the entrance gates, once you're inside the police are there to help move the crowds along quickly and orderly I've found. Thanks for sharing David!
@gturner38
@gturner38 4 месяца назад
Just one thing worth mentioning. Heading towards the Biosphere is good if you are seated near the hairpin. For seating towards turns 1 and 2, along the front straight, or in the family grandstand, you would actually head in the opposite direction towards the city skyline. You will see a large open space used for summer concert festivals and if you cross it, it will take you towards Pont des Iles. There is a gate on that bridge which is much closer to those seating areas. It's still 15 to 20 minutes to get to turn 2, but it would be at least 10 minutes longer from the hairpin area.

When you have some time while at the track go to the garage area where the Ferrari's from the Ferrari Challenge & Nissans from the Nissan Sentra Cup will be parked. In 2019 they allowed us to sit in the cars. 2019 it was Porsche cup instead of Nissan but cool experience to sit in a GT race car.

I live close to the Gilles Villeneuve F1 circuit less than two hours away! I live in Chateauguay on the South shore of the St. Lawrence river and it's one bus and two metro lines to get there. I've been nine times to the GP and I stopped because the ticket prices are too high now. Also the new power plants are disappointing compared to the V10 and V12 engines of the eighties!

The ones that come mind are near the hairpin, near the straight leaving the hairpin or entering it, you may find some spots near Turn 6 but it looks like this year they'll have a new stand section there 🤔 If you're there for multiple days Id try each spot out until you find one you like and then get there early on race day! - Chris

@CCF1channel
@CCF1channel Год назад
Hey Blair, thanks for the comment! There are water refill stations, usually near grandstands, I believe towards the entrances there are personal day lockers you can use (but I'm not 100% sure on this, sorry!) the same for phone charging stations. I can confirm the closest area to a beer garden would be the Heineken Terrace towards the middle of the circuit! Enjoy!

Great content, thank you so much. Quick questions: 1. Do you recommend doing all 3 days from the same spot or different? 2. On race day, is it better to be on the main straight since all the action is happening there?
@CCF1channel
@CCF1channel Год назад
Thanks for the kind words! 1. I suggest to use the Friday as your day to scout out locations, that way you can see where other people standing at and to get an idea for what angles/spots you like the most. Then come Saturday and Sunday you'd want to get to your favourite spot early. If you do leave though it will be hard to get that place back unless you have a buddy there to hold your place. 2. I personally prefer being in a spot where you can see the cars for the longest amount of time, so my view point of the hairpin was enjoyable. Most of the action/overtakes in Montreal take place in the first two corners I feel. So if you can get close to those, that'd be my recommendation as they have a few spots around there fore people to stand I've heard. The main straight doesn't have the best view point as you'll be close to the track which is great but you might not catch the overtakes when they speed past you at 300+kph

You can usually find information about this in the race program for the week, or by following the teams and race track on social media. I saw a post this morning on how to obtain a bracelet to go to the signing sessions on Saturday morning but I also heard there was a line as of 6:30am to get on the track today, so it may be limited bracelets. So constantly checking those channels for the latest information is the best recommendation I could have. For example, I know Williams also did their own driver's meet & greet on the Wednesday, which was also free! Best of luck!

@CCF1channel
@CCF1channel 2 года назад
Thanks! It may be unique for each grandstand, from my memory I believe the rows are in ascending so Row A would be towards the front row and the later letters like M,N,O are further up. However there may be double letter rows (I.e. AA, AB, BB) which I'm not 100% certain if those would be even more towards the front row or all the way at the last row. In the shot at 11:20 we can see the rows are numbers but not in any order - I assume if they'll fix that come the GP! 😅

@CCF1channel 2 года назад
Thanks Alessandro, It would all depend on how many activities you plan to do at the site , I do recommend at least one day you should walk around and explore the rest of the park around the track, that way you didn't only experience the GP from your grandstand. 2 hours before I'd say is the minimum to catch the most crucial parts, if you are in general admission though you may want to come earlier to secure a good spot! Also for the Sunday you'd want to catch the driver's parade and then walk around on the track after the race. So you may spend more time at the track after the race is over. The best view you're going to get is going to be Grandstand 11 and 12 as you get to see the race start and the cars for the longest amount of time going through the first corners. Next would be the hairpin as if you are in Grandstand 12 or the Lance Stroll stand you can be pretty close to the cars as they come in, break and then speed off. Those two spots are the more expensive tickets. I've enjoyed my view from the Family Grandstand / 32 (In the video at 12:25) - you can see the cars for a good amount of time going through the corners vs speeding through on a straight - but that's what I prefer!

Great question! It would all depend on how many activities you plan to do at the site , I do recommend at least one day you should walk around and explore the rest of the park around the track, that way you didn't only experience the GP from your grandstand. As soon as you arrive I'd pick-up a Grand Prix info-letter/guide, that would contain all the info about the times of the races, where the activities are located and plan out what interests you and budget maybe 30 minutes per activity in case there are any lines! When I've been the past 3 years, I tend to show up 2 hours before the start of the session I wanted to see and that felt like a perfect amount of time (then again I only went on the Saturday and Sunday) For the Sunday you'd want to catch the driver's parade and then walk around on the track after the race. So you may spend more time at the track after the race is over. Based on the times of the sessions I could recommend: Friday: Arrive by 12pm -1pm (to get a good idea for where your seats are, you'll have a 2 hrs break to explore after FP1) Saturday: Arrive by 12pm Sunday: Arrive around 11am - 12pm Enjoy your weekend! - Chris

Wishing you a great race weekend ahead for 2023! I've never done general admission myself, but I hear you have to get there relatively early to get a good spot, I'd use the Friday to scout out different locations along the track to see what you like, and then head there early on the Saturday and Sunday to secure your spots! They'll have it on the map of where people in GA are recommended to stand. Enjoy 😊

If I am going for Friday-Sunday. Would you recommend the weekend metro pass to be the best option? Thanks
@CCF1channel
@CCF1channel 2 года назад
Hey! The 3 day pass would be your best option, assuming you purchase it on the Friday, the weekend pass would only cover the Saturday and Sunday. A one way metro ticket is $3.50 - The 3 day pass costs: $20.50 - so if you know you'll be using the metro more than 5 times (which you would considering each day you'll need at least 2 tickets) It'd be well worth it to get the 3 day pass on the Friday as it'll be good till Sunday at 11:59pm. Hope that helps!

Where do you recommend to park your car and get to the metro?
@CCF1channel
@CCF1channel Месяц назад
The south shore would be your best bet to get back to your car the fastest as most people head back downtown after the race. Its also has more options for free street parking or cheaper parking lots near the Longueuil Metro station

That's your choice to make, I'm just giving it as a suggestion. I find if you're far enough up in the grandstands you won't really need them, but if you're right next to the track, it may bother some people!

What if the race was at night?

They'd need a few more floodlights that's for sure! 😂 Although the sunsets around 8:30pm in June, it could be something they could do! The temperature does get much cooler at night but I don't think the residential homes near by will be too happy with the noise haha

What happend to this channel? The video of ranking F1 drivers based on meeting them was deleted 🤔 I like to think I know a good youtube channel with high potential when I see one and I find it bizarre the videos just stopped.... it had the potential to be one of the biggest North American F1 channels...

When is the best time to buy tickets and not pay over the odds prices, buying for 2024
@CCF1channel
@CCF1channel Год назад
Tickets are hard to come by for the Grand Prix. They usually open up before the start of the year; but also I've heard they go on pre-sale access for people who've purchased tickets before in previous years. Which usually causes them to sell-out. They do release a few additional tickets leading up the the GP this year so you just need to be subscribed to their newsletter to not miss your chance!

Montreal is a terrible place to watch F1. We paid $800 for two tickets and literally couldn't see the track. Not the cars. The track! But, I hear I'm not the only one. it's like this each year with many seats. It's a thing there. What a rip -off. I'm not sure how they get away with it. 3rd rate like most things in Canada are these days. The Indy turns out to be a much better organized race event in terms of seating . At least you can see the track when you pay for your ticket. this is hardly a small thing. It's why you're there.

What if I'm driving to Montreal and want to park at a subway station is that available or there is no parking either
@CCF1channel
@CCF1channel Год назад
There's plenty of parking options near subway stations, I know the metro station "Longueuil-Université-de-Sherbrooke" has many parking lots, you do have to pay for these though. Or you can find free street parking in the St-Lambert neighbourhood, its just a bit longer of a walk to the subway if you want to save some money.
