All the further sanctions the US would impose will carry negative implications for Europe & hardly touch US economic interests. Europe will still follow the US lead despite the harm. A good example is Germany delaying the certification of Nord Stream 2 at a time when they have just shut down half of their Nuclear Power Stations & will use more coal for creation of electricity. Having the US dictate EU energy security is plain daft.

NATO signed agreement with Russia that they wont expand and wont have military bases in exUSSR countries, but already in 2004 had a military base in Baltic region. Make Russia look like source of aggression is wrong. It is interesting though why NATO want to have military bases in Ukraine and what is the reason to have troops there if Russia and NATO in alliance.
