Peter and Margarida lost their catamaran from the Sailing into Freedom channel with no insurance. It's been over a year and they are back to a mono-hull but still sailing. I'm glad you didn't lose your boat or your lives for that matter. Just subscribed to your channel and hope to see you sailing for many years to come. Happy trails.

Do you have a handheld EPIRB (PLB) in your ditch bag? I recommend a waterproof compass too unless you can tell north by the stars or sun reliably. Set off the EPIRB (PLB) and start motoring/paddling (paddle for the dinghy?)swimming slowly toward the direction of land. Don't forget the drinking water of course.

hey there! yes, there is an epirb in the bag and a waterproof compass and lots of water.

I was told years ago to go out with a full stomach and to keep it topped up so that it is not sloshing round and making you feel ill, a bit like a half full water tank without baffles. Do not know how true it is but seems to work most of the time.

Just saw a killer deal on a 10'8" dinghy at Costco that will seat 3-4 people and hold a 15hp outboard for$600!! They will deliver!!

Hi to both of you. A little heads up on the focus thing, Brandy you seem to move forward and back and wave your hands around a lot and this I think is what takes it out of focus sometimes. If you both sit about the same distance from the camera it will remain in focus better. Also on previous live where there were connection issues and it became blocky it helps if you stay as still as possible. I am sure you know these things but maybe do not realize what you are doing. I am enjoying your videos keep up the good work and stay safe.

Well guys the 1 hour live bit sped past too fast for me ;-) I got the impression that due to the near sinking that you're now a bit nervous about heading out ( or so it seems ) into the great Blue Yonder ? Clearly you've got Guardian Angles around you both / proof is : that local sailor was close by when you really needed him and he had lots of the underwater sealant on hand to boot ! So whenever you leave Port -- invite them to come along with you ! it also helps to ask of The Creator Of All Things to come along too ! ( guess who came up with the idea for Dolphins ?? Hmmmm ) with them on board you should always make it home safe ( wherever home is ) . # Oona fan club ;-)

Windvanes are awesome!!! I have a Cape Horn with a Pelagic tiller pilot on the windvane. Monitor windvanes owns Pelargic auto pilot and the owner of Monitor is super cool. He has used vanes available (or at least he did at Annapolis) a d I'm sure be would be glad to help you. Do you think the crack was a pre-existing condition that you missed or did you hit something
