Having difficulty finding bracelets for Alzheimer’s. Yes, you can customize. The problem is the clasp. She takes her bracelet off, which defeats the purpose. And yes, we did put it on her dominant hand. Still gets it open and leaves it someplace. I need a sister clasp that my mom can’t get open. Not many have that. Big niche for that.
i personally have a necklace, (not sure how she is with necklaces) and i replaced the chain with some thick string and knotted it tight, its hard to undo, especially for someone like the lady you are talking about, as for bracelets, same concept try a knot in string rather than a clasp because a knot is hard to take out with one hand, especially if its youre non dominant hand. you can customize them on amazon for an ok price, i customized mine because my condition is rare, and it wasnt too bad of a price! lots of love
Amazon has a brand Divolti with numerous bracelet styles that have. It’s has both a lobster claps and a magnetic closure. They are customizable with your medical info.
i think it is important for people to put anaphylaxis on their bracelet because i have cold urticaria and that’s what causes those reactions and i think it’s important to have it on there since it’s a rare condition
Don’t forget implantable devices like dbs (deep brain stimulator) for Parkinson’s! Wires placed in brain tunneled under skin and then land in small device looks like pacemaker . Can not go thru mri or magnetic devices. I have one. ❤ Dr . Marcia Sills
I have it as well, and also high functioning. I recently came across the idea of wearing one for myself so not just people could understand me, but also for medical emergencies just in case. Most importantly, since I never knew I had a codine allergy until I was taking pain medication, with codine in it, while I was recovering from a tonsillectomy two years ago.
I would liar diabetes, heart, liver problems, allergies. Medicines change but the conditions give medics the clues. Primary care dr is helpful. Have this conversation with your healthcare procedure. In case of an accident the phone is often not available. Organ donor, DNR useful. A bracelet when you can add on/remove data is helpful.
I have epilepsy and no one ever read my medical ID on my phone and I lost my bracelet. So I just have a piece of paper in my phone case with information like what to do and that kinda stuff. I am such you basic type of girl.
They’re sadly not trained to check iPhones… my bracelet just stays on my wrist or near me when I need to take it off now because of that. My iPhone has the full information on it, the bracelet has my name and diagnosis list on it and my wallet has my insurance cards and a few medical alert cards for some of my diagnoses
Yes. I put that on mine because panic attacks effect your reactions, behaviors and needs in emergencies. Both medical and mental health conditions should be listed on your bracelet if they: -Effect behavior -Effect reactions -Requires medication -Could cause an emergency or bad reaction to external factors such as foods, liquids, animals, particles, gels, substances, powders, lotions, lighting, stressful events, etc. -Is related to your service dog (if you have one) -Requires medical equipment or other equipment -Effect your needs in an emergency -Cause side effects that could be potentially dangerous (memory gaps, dizziness, wandering, fear aggression, etc.)
