Hey everyone, there was so much more I wanted to say in this video that just didn't come out, but above all I want to acknowledge what a huge impact my Mum has had on who I am as a person and what this channel has become. Knowing how proud she was of everything I've achieved over the last six years on RU-vid makes me never want to give up on a single upload or opportunity that comes my way. But family is the most important thing to me at the moment and always will be, and right now my time is dedicated to them. I also want to help and be here for any of you going through similar situations as I know I won't be alone. I truly believe that love is an incredibly powerful thing and as long as you hold someone in your heart they never really go away. Thank you for all your kindness. Love you x

Its such a horrible thing to go through in life. I lost my Mom at 18 and had no idea how to grieve. A little advice looking back.. take time. Take time for yourself. Take time to cope, to cry, to think about great memories. If you are able, take 2 months off work and refocus your life. RU-vid will still be here. SO MUCH LOVE!

Alix I am so sorry for your incredible loss. I lost my mother from breast cancer as well and in two days its the 10th anniversary of her passing. She was my biggest supporter also and my best friend. From what I have seen on your videos for the years I have watched them, she would be so proud of the woman you have become. I lost my mum to breast cancer at 28 and can relate so much to what you are saying. Your mum sounds just wonderful and as though she was your biggest cheerleader (which is just how I thought of my mum 😊). Dearest, dearest Alix. There are no words of sympathy or encouragement that could possibly match the magnitude of the loss you and your family must be feeling. I’m sorry for the hurtful, unconstructive words from uninformed people over the last few years (yes gurugossiper, we are looking at you...). People somehow feel they have a right to comment on the 2% of peoples’ lives they see in videos, when 98% of the time they don’t know anything about the private struggles and battles of the person they are watching. I applaud your honesty and politeness and composure in this video. We aren’t owed anything by you, and it takes a strong person to share. As someone who recently also lost a close family member to cancer, I hope that you take as much time and space as you need to grieve. I’ve learned that time doesn’t heal wounds-whoever made up that saying hasn’t ever felt true pain or loss. There is no true healing or forgetting or fixing or filling the void or “feeling like your old self” again. One cannot be unchanged by profound loss. However, over time, there is coping and pushing through and finding a new norm and forging a different future. And in that new norm, there will gradually be a few less tears, a few more smiles, and maybe even some joy. I promise. That will take time, but it will come. Sending you and your family love and prayers and kindest thoughts. Hope to see you around this corner of the Internet again soon, in your own timing.

ColleenPrice I agree. Twenty-something is way too young to lose a parent. You expect the circle of life to go on and to lose a parent when they are elderly. No one should have to lose a parent at such a young age.

It actually breaks my heart to know that you have to explain yourself to others when you're going through such a difficult time, and especially after losing your bestfriend and lover. I have so much respect for you and have watched your videos since day one. You've always made me smile when times are hard for myself and you've always inspired me to be myself and nothing but myself. Your mum is so right in every way to be proud of you, you create such amazing content and never fail to be the net person you possibly can. You're such a beautiful person inside and out and it's so understandable that you're not going to want to be on RU-vid at the moment, your life is your personal and private life. You shouldn't have to worry about viewers getting upset about lost content because right now that's the least of your worries. Oh dear Lord. Well I wasn't expecting that Alix. You know, I never really comment on your videos (or anyone's actually) but felt compelled to say something. I'm so terribly sorry for what you've been through, along with your mother and the rest of your family. You're still far too young to have said goodbye to your mum. You seem like a lovely girl so clearly she did an amazing job and had a big impact on you. Just wanted to send my condolences and say I'm really thinking of you. Very brave for telling everybody... you didn't owe us an explanation but I see people demanding them all the time when people don't upload like they used to. I was watching this video whilst doing my makeup which was possibly the worst thing as my mascara ended up half way down my face. I'm so so so incredibly sorry for your loss. I've just been through the same situation with a family member and it's literally the same thing. You think everything is okay then it's bombshell after bombshell. Oh man, I feel for you. I lost my mother to cancer 5 years ago--she was 43, I was 23. It will never ever leave you, and it will hit you at the most unexpected of times. I've watched this at least 3 times. crying. Can I just say that you are an amazing woman. This was such an honest raw video. You are right in that you do not owe us anything. And yet, In 7 minutes you communicated so much while at the same time setting boundaries that needed to be set. Those moments when you show us more of yourself you reveal yourself to be such a gentle soul with such a social conscience. The pain of watching a loved one fight a terminal illness.....well.....there is no way to adequately express that pain. Truly, my thoughts are with you. Do whatever you need to do right now. I am so sorry for your loss. I too lost a parent, my dad when i was 15 because of lung cancer. I know how it feels. It is hard, really really really hard. But lemme tell you that time makes things better. It will get better. You will feel better and life will be better. Trust me on that. I am a mother of children in their twenties and don't watch many you tube bloggers but have followed you for a few years now as you come across as a lovely mature and well balanced individual. I can't begin to understand the way social media can be so cruel to people like yourselves. Its 4am in the morning and ive found this video, and Im sat here in tears because your pain is so palpable :( My mum is exactly the same with my videos, my instagram posts, she texts me to let me know if ive had a mean comment or just to let me know that she loved one of my photos.
