Maurice was a very talented singer, songwriter& play instruments, I loved listening him play the piano. Very beautiful.... Morris ur missed very much..
FOREVER ALIVE, BROTHERS GIBB!! BLOOD OF GOLD ♥️🙏🌹💛
So many misleading “facts” in this video. Firstly Maurice’s name is pronounced “Morris”. Secondly he was 53 when he passed away, not 54 and it was from complications of a twisted intestine not from drinking! Third, Andy was not the youngest to become ‘worldwide famous’, both Robin and Maurice were only 16 or 17 when they made it ‘big’. Get your facts straight before making these type of videos because all they do is present false information to new fans who watch these things! Luckily, most of us here have been fans for years and know already but some don’t yet.
Cat Lover no. Their mom had twins which were Robin (older by 35 minutes) and Maurice. They were born December 22, 1949. Andy was the youngest sibling born in 1958. He was 12 years younger than Barry and 9 years younger than the twins (Robin & Maurice). Andy was the first to pass away in 1988 at the age of 30. Maurice was the twin who passed away first in 2003, Robin passed away in 2012. I sure do miss them all dearly! Hope this helps!
Ashleigh Lee. thank you, but I am going to look into this further. I believe robin and Maurice were 2 of 3 is what I believe I remember . I have been a fan since 70s and loved all Brothers Gibb. It will be a sad day when Barry dies.
If this person knew anything about the Gibbs, they would know that Maurice is pronounced Morris & that he was 53 not 54 when he passed away. His birthday was December 22. Go do your homework.
Also he talked about how Andy was the first to be famous while he was young; and that fame suddenly burst on the brothers...........it would have been so easy to google the 3.
Satan gives and Satan takes back twins. 9 / 23 / 33 equal 911. Because Satan took the two. 1 / 5 / 23 Eve . 12 / 25 / 32 Mary Christmas Eve. Saturnalia Crossroads T. Christ didn't know about the twins. Theobromine like in chocolate nectar of the HOLLY berries... this is a ritual draw off negative energy that's how they feed. God bless
Terri Gardner where do you take these numbers or dates ? Nothing to do with Robin and Maurice's ones ! By the way Satan is Dwina and she handled and destroyed Robin's life...
DUDE, Maurice (pronounced as Morris) died because of a cardiac arrest caused by the operation of his twisted intestine not because of alcoholism. His daughter said that years before he died which is after he pointed he gun to his family, he used to drink alcohol with rich and famous people but then he just sat and drank a cup of water with a homeless man which is true and it happened when they were on their way to a meeting on Alcoholics Anonymous. Another one, after Maurice got married to Lulu, he started to become "attached" to alcohol which then became one of the reasons on why the couple broke up and then Yvonne came into his life ready to handle Mo's alcoholism. She used to drink with him so that she can convince Mo to stop drinking. ALSO, it wasn't "DARK SECRETS," the brothers publicised their problems when Robin told the media about the divorce and Mo on an episode titled "Maurice Gibb Fighting Back" where he narrated how he handled his alcoholism. So Google more info first before putting it on youtube. 😉
That has got to be the most generic, Wikipedia induced, accounting of the Bee Gees I have ever heard. This guy knows NOTHING about the band or why much of anything happened.
I have always been a huge fan of the GIBB Brothers so i read biographies, i know lots of details about them, i can say there are a few mistakes in your summery. Too much gossiping !
oriolesandravens Although Andy wasn't as young as the twins when he had his first hit, or even his first album, he did have talent. Flowing Rivers, Andy's first album, was a good first outing. It's a shame the engine had to stack the deck with Baz number 1 single. I would have liked to have seen what Andy's true potential could have been, sans Baz. Barry was writing like a mad man and resulting in number 1s across the board, for both The Bee Gees and Andy; and for himself, he had Grease. Not to mention Barry and Co. was producing everything, again, number 1s. Andy's latest greatest hits package that dropped in April of this year was once again, a disappointment, particularly for long time fans that have had his stuff for years. Like The Bee Gees endless greatest hits packages, it's geared toward newer fans or completists. I can't imagine anyone that's been hanging with the boys and Andy for any length of time not having numerous versions of this latest release. The liner notes were pretty skimpy, too. Andy has some tracks that weren't released from his time in Oz before he came to the states. Now those would have made a good package, IMO.
The three brothers had major success in America, Great Britain and Australia for years. This video tries to infer that their major success started with Saturday Night Fever. I'm just wondering why. Plus, the whole bit about Barry going out on stage solo after the twins' deaths...... all three went solo in the late 60s. I'm just wondering about the validity of this video information. And I still cry (after all these years) watching their tributes to Andy. Don't Throw It All Away.
The speaker implies, the listener infers. The video is a tad skewed, but to be honest, many know the Bee Gees from their Fever days, which is a shame as they had success years prior to Fever. You have to admit, the Bee Gees only promote their most famous songs, the ones that charted, particularly at number 1, or close to it. This is proven by the endless releases of their Greatest Hits version XXXIVII. Sheesh! When was the last time you heard them speak of Living Eyes, or Mr. Natural? You're correct, they did all go out on their own in the late 60s, however, this is a fact that Barry has yet to admit. When speaking of the split, it's always geared towards Robin as leaving, which he did. Barry never mentions that he too left the Bee Gees, he left Mo. Mo was the only one that stayed with the group.
Just poor video, not too much depth and filled with inaccuracies. For one, Maurice is pronounced like "Morris." It's "Gibb" not "Gibbs." And Mo died of cardiac arrest while undergoing emergency surgery for a twisted/burst colon. This video made it sound like he died of alcohol abuse, and while that may have contributed to weaken his heart or something, it wasn't the cause of death. He was reportedly sober for [years] by that point.
Kate Maloney Yes, I suppose “years” and not “decades” would have been more accurate. But my point is still valid. And what about the rest of the errors in the video?
When Andy died the press said it was a drug overdose, not true or the worst lie yet, he committed sucide. Yeah, with his mom sitting right by his bedside. I think not. What Andy died of is actually survivable, but the years of drug abuse weakened his heart so sadly he didn't survive it.
@@katemaloney4296Mo actually had stopped drinking in the early 1980 but had a relapse after Andy died. Another thing is that the pain alone from the twisted intestine was more than enough to send him into cardiac arrest. Then you have the fact that it cut off the blood supply and also he went septic because it ruptured and also the hospital was negligent. All of those things will most certainly be enough to cause a cardiac arrest. That was the reason that Barry and Robin were so upset and wanted to go after the hospital. Mo's wife Yvonne ended up choosing to settle out of court, so they were negligent with his care.
I think you got it wrong about Andy. He wasn't drowning in cocaine at the age of 30, in fact, he was clean at that time because he went into rehab in 1985 thanks to his family. However, he was still drinking alcohol.
Maurice pronounced Morris died from complications of a twisted intestine. Robin died from liver and kidney failure not from the cancer it's self! Do your homework before you go making videos marring the good names of people who aren't alive to speak up for themselves!
@onyxnightgem3152 thank you for stating the truth. That's what I came for. These click bait channels, all they care about are clicks they don't care that tarnish anybody's good name, nor that they are long gone and unable to speak for themselves nor defend their self. I dread clicking on these but feel like I have to just to see what kind of crap they are gonna spew and hope that some one in the comments at least tried to right the wrong statements or I will try to do so myself although as you can see I am just seeing this now for the first time, long after the harm has already been done. I see people make false comments in other posts and always wonder where they are getting it from , well it is from channels just like this OSSA channel.
I don't believe I cared for this video. Everyone has tragedy, but the undertone of this was too dark. One of the greatest singing histories, The Brothers Gibb. I'll pass on the subscribe button and move on.
The bee gees was much more better than the beattles because they had a much more greater repertoire of songs a better perfectly sound und wonderful voices especially Robin.. There will never come such a super band..
Another fallacy in this video... Andy didn’t directly die of drugs. Yes, he did drugs for many years and I’m sure the long term heavy use took a toll on his body, however he did not have any drugs in his system at the time of his death. So this wasn’t an overdose situation.
Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk I'm a woman's man, no time to talk Music loud and women warm, I've been kicked around Since I was born And now it's alright, it's okay And you may look the other way We can try to understand The New York Times' effect on man Whether you're a brother or whether you're a mother You're stayin' alive, stayin' alive Feel the city breakin' and everybody shakin' And we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive, stayin' alive Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive Well now, I get low and I get high And if I can't get either, I really try Got the wings of Heaven on my shoes I'm a dancin' man and I just can't lose You know it's alright, it's okay I'll live to see another day We can try to understand The New York Times' effect on man Whether you're a brother or whether you're a mother You're stayin' alive, stayin' alive Feel the city breakin' and everybody shakin' And we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive, stayin' alive Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive (ohh) Life goin' nowhere, somebody help me Somebody help me, yeah Life goin' nowhere, somebody help me, yeah I'm stayin' alive Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk I'm a woman's man, no time to talk Music loud and women warm I've been kicked around since I was born And now it's all right, it's okay And you may look the other way We can try to understand The New York Times' effect on man Whether you're a brother or whether you're a mother You're stayin' alive, stayin' alive Feel the city breakin' and everybody shakin' And we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive, stayin' alive Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive Life goin' nowhere, somebody help me Somebody help me, yeah Life goin' nowhere, somebody help me, yeah I'm stayin' alive Life goin' nowhere, somebody help me Somebody help me, yeah (ah, ah, ah) Life goin' nowhere, somebody help me, yeah I'm stayin' alive Life goin' nowhere, somebody help me Somebody help me, yeah (ah, ah, ah, ay) Life goin' nowhere, somebody help me, yeah I'm stayin' alive Life goin' nowhere, somebody help me Somebody help me, yeah (ohh) Life goin' nowhere, somebody help me, yeah I'm stayin' alive
Mo did stop drinking and he had something wrong with his stomach that killed him. At the time Barry said they were going to sue the hospital bc it was their fault. Don't know what happened after that.
Lindajoe Byrd Maurice died of a heart attack. Nothing to do with his stomach. Mo got intestines pains because he and Rob had the same malformation as twisted intestines so he had to be operated but in fact he started to get a heart attack. The doctors hadn't noticed in time it was so they started to operate him of intestines but his heart was too much damaged and he got another heart attack during the intervention...
On the Television Channel Reelz They show the Autopsy of Maurice. You are right with your info. After all this was investigated They dropped the lawsuit.
Dude!!! (Maker of video) it's about what you take from the experience of life, not pointing and criticism,,, just sayin really good memories from the Times past of where and whom was there while these songs played,,,tks bee gees for the memories these songs recall...
You are wrong about Andy being the youngest at 19 to make a number one hit. Massachusetts came out in Sept of 1967. Robin and Maurice [pronounced correctly as Morris] were 17 turning 18 three months later.
This is not very intelligent. Why do people of ALL walks of life take them when they've seen and heard about the repurcussions over and over and over again?
@@rakshitapadmajitweerakkody8350 You're very uneducated. It can be hereditary, a symptom of child abuse or a underlying mental issue. I've seen all 3 in one person before.
Not very flattering obviously not made by Bee Gee fans, Only in the US did they not remain popular. With that stated in US they still had a #7 song because it was the ONLY air played song, *One", the funny thing is it wasn't the best song they produced post disco either. Don't get me wrong it was not bad, but it got played, therefore it got somewhat popular. Now Kiss Of Life was a great song but Never got played, therefore never got popular. In fact One is the only song that got played in the US, My prediction is they could have had more hits, but in order for any song to become a hit, it usually has to get played. In other countries they had top 5 hits in 4 different decades how many other groups can say that huh? They had 1 hits in 3 different decades, how many other groups can say that huh? Andy was tragic, should have just been the 4th Bee Gee instead of living their shadow and competing with them in my opinion...
Ray Mccue . What makes you an expert? Because a song gets playing time? OMG...Saturday Night Fever album, songs written by them for Otis Redding, Barbara Streisand, Celine Dion and others, music written by them for the Grease soundtrack... wrote , played , sang three part harmonies... on and on. These were true musical artists. No comparison ..,
Ray Mccue I totally get what you're saying. If the BeeGees had gotten some airplay on radio after the Fever period, then there is every chance they would have had more songs placing high in the charts again. Barry, in particular, has voiced his bitterness about that un-fair treatment by radio!...Can't say I Blame him at ALL!!
@ SkyActives they all popped Dr. Prescribed pills at the beginning. At one time Robin popped pills, Mo drank and Barry smoked weed. They all quit at different times Mo quit drinking in 1980 or 1981 but had a short relapse after Andy died. He went and got help himself and it was not court ordered. This channel does NOT have quite a bit of the facts correct. So I would take everything they said and through it in the trash where it belongs. They can't even pronounce Mo's name correctly
Why is someone like Kanye not putting Barry Gibb on some new dope shit? You know he still has that voice. He was the lead singer..... sad, I still bump they shit. #Classics
