In this video I will be Reviewing the Walmart Power Accoustik Subwoofer. BIG JEFF AUDIO: USE CODE "ZACHECKER" AT CHECK OUT bigjeffaudio.c... #bassheads #bumpin #caraudio #taramps #amplifier #nissanaltima #subwoofer #bass #blown
The PA Gothic is a decent sub as long as it's used within it's capabilities, the 2.5" coil is enough of a clue for someone that knowledgeable with car audio, typically there good for 6-700wrms tops, if used in that wattage range you will get good service for years, also it's a smaller sized motor and coil with a light suspension so it doesn't need much wattage to get loud. You are right A 600 to 800w amp for 1 and 2 a 1000 to 1200w amp will push it just fine enough to get good thump in any vehicle and typically with a lower power sub your best off with 2 that would give you really respectful bump. A lot of people would be surprised how loud you can get on a true 1200w amp. My son has my old system which is 2 XR15s on a pioneer gm1200.1 and he's well into the 140dbs on music in a Tahoe, it's not as much as my system but that 40s is decent bump. My system is bit more violent but I have way more money his system could be duplicated for $650 plus $150+/- home built 8cf mdf ported. enclosure.
The Gothics and mofos are actually pretty good. They will absolutely take 1200w, you have to understand how an amp works with music frequencies. So in that demo your amp and that sub would play in the 2-7ohm range, it mighta seen 2k at a given point but prob averaged 500-1000watts. You could run two of those off that bass 3K an bump it.
@@Zachecker it may have a break in smell but if ur smelling coil u are clipping cause these subs eat 1200 to 1500 RMS I had a smart on 2 and they slam
@@joshholden8561 The sub is leaning on the amp but the vibration should not be enough to mess it up. I couldent really change it at the time bc i had to record when i could but next time ill put something to absorb the vibration.
Surround quality and cone is kind of impressive. Good thickness and sewn in… I bought a one .. a single voice coil not dual.. a couple years back but just been sitting in spare cars trunk. Never really have played it.. but not bad with another power bass 12… around the same wattage but PA speaker looks built a little better from cone and surround.
Gotta admit this thing is very impressive i had that 2500 watt amp and it was not powerful enough to handle this subs capability at all i blew the amp with this thing had to get a much more powerful one been giving this thing absolute hell on some very hot days for hours at a time and its handling it like its nothing im probably pushing close to 3000 watts with no issues or loss in sound quality very impressive for this price
Your box is half the size it’s supposed to be tho. Supposed to be 2.5 cubed. You have like 1 sq foot in that box. I have 2 in their own recommended 2.5 cubed boxes and it flexes my truck. I didn’t want to put them in the same box cause I like to move them around depending on what I’m doin and need, but it’s insane. The 2 boxes legit take up my whole ass crew cab and will vibrate your brain along with everything else. The vibration opened my tool box on the highway and I had to pull over so now I have a bike chain wrapped around it lmao
Hell yea thanks! I was wondering why this box was so small I got side used ystrdy fur 60 bucks they played well but their in dual box comparable total size to this, I'll throw them in bigger 1 I have!
I love destruction and calling manufacturers on their BS probably more than the next guy but, i really want to see it in a box thats at least close to correct for it and played at the common sense rms power, you can usually tell when it gets to its max rms, with experience you can make a good call, and just see what its capable of, ive been surprised by cheap subs before, the difference the correct enclosure makes is huge, a speaker that costs thousands will sound bad in the wrong box, but for the guys that can only manage some walmart equipment, some tunes are better than none i dont knock any system that someone at least tried to setup correctly, i dont care if they got subs from thrift store sound bars, if they tried and it is not just garbled clipped mess i always give respect.
I got 5 of these lol. 2 subs pair razor amp. The 5th one is a spare on standby. They hit just right but someone told me to run each sub on its own razor amp. Sounds like a good idea but the 2 batteries i have wont be enough for 4 of them wired separately
I think they raised the prices I went to Walmart few days ago and I always check the car audio for fun and it said 120$ maybe they put it in the wrong place 🤷♂️
@74midwestbass74 I’m a full time student I don’t have that much the spare. Trust me I would if I could. Most my items on my channel are sent to me. But for sure I will when I get more 🤑
I have 1200 skar and the subs hits 600 rms and the subs smells burn coil so i dont know if the sub have a issue or fsctory error.. oh snd the sub no cliping and notjing all ajust fine so for thr sub 2 stars haha
I have 2 of these also...With a 2400 watt Hifonics Amp..I haven't had any problems out of them, 2 yrs Strong SLAPPING HARD Everyday..No Smoking,No Smell..just A Great affordable Speaker That's Really 1000-1100 RMS Easily!
That box is junk!!! I had mine running on an rp2000 in a 5cf box it was actually hitting good. Yeah it got hot but I was running 1600 rms but it got down. If you had a better box it would hit...... the box is too small and tuned way too high...
Thank you for your concern the box is just a small demo box not for spl. And the sub did hit but it can not stay at 1200 rms for very long I blew it in a video not long after
@Zachecker yes but you can destroy any sub in the wrong box. That sub needs a box at least 2.3 cf. The one you have is half of that if not smaller and your turning is really bad. If you would have seen what it did in the box I build for my 15 you would be very surprised.
@@jamessalcido4667 thank you again but the box like I said isn’t meant for spl it’s a testing box that fits in my back seat so I can test and record without breaking my back every time I record. And I have done rms tests with other subwoofers in that box and it did great. The fact is the power acoustic is not on the level of those other subwoofers it is only a 2.5 inch coil that can handle at most a constant rms test tone of 750 watts. Thank you again for letting me know how bad my setup is for a cheap Walmart subwoofer that I had only for a video and not my main set up. I’m sorry that you feel I did that subwoofer an injustice. Maybe you should make a video all about it and send it to me and I’ll be the first to watch. 👍
Fun video. That cheap spider would not last a year, especially when it starts to clip like that. Lanzar, Pyle, Pyle Pro, Legacy Epsilon Electronics: Power Acoustic, Precision Power, Farenheit, Soundstream, Kole, Pyramid on and on are all manufactured in the same factory, with the same components. Always spend the extra 100 dollars and get a pioneer D series or JL audio.
@@Zachecker new or old the speaker is only mechanically designed to play a limited frequency range. Im just thinking that subjecting it to anything above 200hz probably wouldnt help it at all
@@Zachecker the crossover is a setting on the amp that limits what frequencies get amplified and passed on to the subs. I am pretty sure the bass 3k has one built in to it. Large voicecoils are not efficient enough to play anything above low frequencies. Might be contributing to the smell
you should not have any issues if you set gains correctly and absolutely 0 clipping. but honestly i promise if you spend a little more money but still budget get 2 american bass elites 160 a peice on amazon and they handle that 2k without any issues what so ever. i have them on a 5k
@@Zachecker i’ll try and convince her she really wasn’t looking to spend a crazy amount and i’ve been getting recommended these a lot, realistically two of these wired to 1ohm they’d only be getting around 1000rms each on that amp correct? i’m still new to this whole thing and trying to learn.
@@Zachecker thanks for actually responding lmao. so having two subs doesn’t split the power output? if i have two wired to 1ohm their both getting the full 2000?
@@almightylynxx914 no they will be getting 2000 together but those subs can’t handle 1000 watts rms for very long. Power accoustik over rates their subwoofers. 2 subwoofers ide say are 1200 watts rms together
I love how you're so skeptical of something you have absolutely no idea about in the beginning. Not everyone can get what is considered a good quality sub right off of the bat not everyone has those means a job to get them or parents that give you an allowance to get them.
I was skeptical bc it was a ridiculous rating. I blew this subwoofer in a video to show that it isn’t the best for the money. Go with a Rockville k6 it’s cheaper and same rating. I got this sub to prove a point and it made a lot of people upset but the truth hurts
