if you are new to wanting to buy a switch, get the oled for the extra 32 gb on the system will come in handy than trying to find a readable memory card with more memory. still by all means buy a higher gb memory card too. your memory bank will fill up very fast if you have a lot of games like i do. if you can, buy a physical copy of the game instead of digital. digital copies take a lot of the memory in your memory card. plus you can't resell a digital copy once it has been used. the extra screen size is nice to have, and you can put the oled switch into a standard switch protecter travel case still incase nobody knows that. the new dock for oled is better and the stand is better as well. anybody should stay away from buying a nintendo switch lite. why? because the moving controls are still junk and will break and cause drifting, guess what, you can't replace the controls on the lite version and have to buy a whole new system in that case if you did not add a warranty to the system. if you buy the standard and oled models and the controls break and drift, you at least have the option to replace the controller. Add that extra year warranties to your controllers, because they have a chance to break within at least 6 months to a year. Oh and if your looking for better graphics people, buy a PS5, because the nintendo switch has lower graphics resolution, but you can play the switch portably which is better for travel purposes. hope this helps some.
I want to get the oled switch and currently doing logo design as freelancer to get closer to that goal and also help other to create a good branding logo! Do you or anyone you know need logo design? Let me know if you interested! :)
The Switch has sold amazingly well (100million units sold) because of this fact I don’t think we will see a Switch Pro for sometime, because Nintendo don’t need one yet.
Nintendo doesn't make Pro Consoles, they make them 'Super'... PlayStation makes them Pro... Xbox makes them Elite.. Please Learn the Difference already.
10:19 If you're paying +$50 _just_ for the screen, then it's definitely *not* worth it. However, if you bought it at least partly for the upgraded dock, completely redesigned kickstand, and internal storage, or *if you don't have a Switch at all,* then it starts to make a bit more sense.
I just ordered it and I din't have a switch so yeah it would make sense to me, but still I also think that someone who already has a switch should not waste money on buying the oled version
The screen makes all the difference and it's absolutely worth it. I sold my old Switch just because I almost always play portable. And I can really tell you my friend, I feel the console just revived for me. I love the colours, it's vibrant, every game feels so fresh just watching them trough that screen. Playing the old switch on portable with those big bezels felt like playing in 2011. I really recommend the Oled model. No regrets selling my old model at all. Also I forgot to mention how much more premium and well constructed it feels. Loving it so far.
@@keliswickland7936 You can literally buy a 64gb SD card for only like $17, you don't need to spend $50 extra for some redesigned console that is the same.
honestly +$50 for the screen alone is worth it... it just sucks that they didn't up the resolution or software. but a bigger screen that looks much better is worth it, but having a better dock and double the internal storage is just a plus.
for only handheld usage Lite is my choice, Oled has got double price for just a screen if it has better hardware than it will be worthy (oh sorry longer battery times but I can live with lite charging it a bit more often)
dude,it's not double the price.it's only 50 dollar diffrence and for the lite the screen way smaller and not worth getting unless you don't plan playing on the tv with it like ever.
actually all we need is not 4K or etc. 1080p are more than enough for portability device. just 60 fps please. but again, nintendo will create bigger fan and bulky case for that. hmmmm
i really would like to get ANY of the switches, but i just cant afford the games. The problem is not the cost of the console itself, its the cost of the GAMES. 4 games in my country, any 4 games cost literally exactly as much as the console does. This is just unacceptable. Im probably just gonna go ahead and buy a ps vita and mod it.
What country do you reside in? If you buy 4 $60 games in the US it will be about $250 after tax, so I assume it is not that much more? But there are sales on games especially physically that can bring the price down.
You act like that’s abnormal!? You must be a child… bc for 4 or 5 switch games in any country including the USA they will run you 200-250 sometimes more (depending on what games you buy) so your whining makes no sense. If you don’t have the money just say that and move on instead of crying about things you can’t control!
Guys i say if you want a nintendo switch its about the tv and thw controller if you have a ps5 or a Xbox get the switch lite but if you dont have a an xbox or a ps5 get thw oled switch lite is just a handheld console im just saying because if you have an console and your gonna buy a oled get the switch lite and you have some money to buy games i hope this helps
I have all three and the Lite is actually my favorite handheld experience by far. Something about the smaller size and solid build just feels right. Cozy. That said, I’d never take a Lite as my only Switch. Giving up TV docking is just leaving way too much functionality on the table. If you can only have one, the OLED is the only one that really makes sense.
I think one day they could make the opposite of a Switch lite. A Switch that can exclusively be used in TV mode instead. For people who don't care about portability!
I got a OLED now and it’s awesome I don’t like the lite cause you can’t play it on the tv and I gave my lite to my nephew and I just think the OLED looks better
@@henryviiifake8244 yeah, i'm also a pc player and i just ordered my first switch, there are so many games i would like to try but they are very expensive for me
@@nauyv... I own all Consoles from all Companies since ATARI n the other that don't exists. Welp like i work for my own things, yeah is Better than the other Models.
Imo there's no point in getting the Oled the og Switch is better for Tv considering it's $100 cheaper than the oled and the main difference is the screen while the Lite is best for handheld since it works more like a traditional handheld being smaller and the controllers don't detach the oled is best for handheld but imo the Lite is better in that category since it's $200 cheaper and is more portable and pocketable
Having a good screen on Oled or older version is pointless because you still play it on your tv... you wont be playing it outside all the time because its not meant to be played outside, sure for travelling, but how many times do you travel everyday? Every week, month, years or decades and if you are travelling, would you waste your time playing nintendo switch during your trip. The best way nintendo can earn a huge amount of money is allowing lite version to connect to TV and i dont know if wireless controller work on lite
40 seconds advert from RU-vid, then 1:55 minutes advert from the content creator, to watch a 9 minutes (after de advert) video... We were better with normal TV... 😔
Thank you for smart comparison. Just came across the dude, who told PS5 is comparison to its digital model is the same as Series X in comparison to S model After that example I just closed the videos with understanding that the man has no clue, and kept on looking for another one. This one did the trick for me.
I literally have the same issue. I play only handheld so i dont need my switch to be able to switch. Thee switch lite surely will be more comfortable for handheld but the screen seems so small. I mean i have my old 3ds in the garage somewhere and the screen of the lite is only a lil better. The comfort is important tho, i dont want my hands to become numb afzer 20 min playing
@@mayapapaya8343 If a Switch Lite's screen seems too small, just go for the Switch or Switch OLED. In my opinion the most comfortable handheld is the Game Boy Advance (w/ aftermarket screen), followed by the normal size DS form factor. And the most pocketable handheld is the GBA SP. For handhelds, I think games designed for a small screen are more important than a big screen.
@@mayapapaya8343I have the switch OLED it’s big But so what? I only play handheld and tabletop mode . I also have my skull & co neogrip in white and my custom gameboy joycons and I love it I would never get the swutch lite ever I’m sorry. Even when I’m going out I still rather bring my switch OLED
I bought the OLED yesterday, this is my 1st console purchase since the WiiU, (bought an Oculus last yr) I'm not a gamer per say but I enjoy playing when I have time and I'm more of a hand held player, is it best to exchange the OLED for the Lite since I won't be playing much? My kids have Playstations and XBoxs so they aren't any help advice wise.
It depends, if you want to use the switch in portable mode especially outside the home, the lite is definitely for you. But if you mostly play at home, OLED is much better.
Definitely exchange the Oled for a lite. You’ve already stated that at home your children have a PS5 and Xbox one which are superior to switch already. Just like me I don’t even play my PS 4 pro that my brother has because I’m playing Lite all the time. I play it on the couch, in my bed, at the dinner table, at work, on the train, in the car if I’m getting a ride basically any chance I get to play my switch, I’m playing it. You have kids so I already know you grew up when the game boy came out so TRUST ME, exchange the Oled for the lite. Individuals like us that grew up doing the gameboy and gameboy color generation and also already have consoles at home don’t need a switch. We prefer the lite! You’ll love it bro. I have over 50+ games on my switch lite and I’ve had for 3 years now and haven’t experienced any drift issues so don’t worry about those nonsense comments brodie.
@@josh23.but the switch OLED is better in handheld mode I’m at home most of the time why would I play docked mode ? I use a skull & co neogrip with my switch OLED and my custom gameboy joycons.
The title is a rethorical question, of course the OLED is the best of the three, it came out 4 years later and has the highest price of the bunch. It would be ridiculous if it was otherwise. Nintendo has no real competitors in the handheld segment, they do not need to care about those 10-12 TFlops, as both Sony and Microsoft have no intention of throwing a competitor in that segment. If we are talking about home console instead, the Switch is holding on decently, despite the masochistic pricing policy. Talking about prices, 350 is quite a steep price for the OLED unit, so it only makes sense to buy it if you are going to play in handheld mode for at least half of the time. Otherwise save those 50 bucks and rather spend them for an extra game.
I just purchases an OLED Switch, I never play my OG Switch docked as I either play it in tabletop or handheld mode. (I have a fancy desktop set up to play in tabletop mode) I plan on trading in my OG Switch at Gamestop for the $200 trade in value, which is the only reason why I'm getting the OLED TBH lol
@@SuperKnux64 you are the type of customer to which the OLED is aimed. I play almost only docked, as I prefer playing on a TV screen and I also find the JoyCons, when attached to the screen, very uncomfortable.
@@RedSavage7 the LAN socket is also a small feature, you can use the USB adapter that came out back in the Wii days. Its all about the OLED screen really.
I hope someone tries to force their way into the handheld market on portability and battery life. Doesn't have to be better, just has to be good enough to force Nintendo to respond.
Hard to tell, i really really want to play Metroid Prime again, but euhm 440$ to play 2 games (+Pokemon) is kinda expensive. But the TV OUT option is also a must.
nintendo switch sales are slowing down a bit but i don’t see a new “switch pro” or what ever their next console next gen console is this year because of their 1st party game titles selling extremely good sales. even though their sales are slowing down i don’t see a switch pro any time soon. maybe 2024 at it’s earliest. and i think it wouldn’t make sense for nintendo to release a pro this year especially since the switch is still selling a very good amount as well as the exclusive games for it. if they would to release it now it would mess them up because everybody would go for the pro and the switch sales will drop a bunch and it’s currently still selling very good. that’s just me though!
For me i just got the Regular, as a gift. But its the one id choose at the end anyways Perfect screen for bed, not too bright to kill my eyes. Ability to Dock same as Oled. so i can Record Beautiful 1080p Switch footage with a capture card.
I bought a switch lite a month ago and had to sell it bcuz it was just to small for my hands to hold and use so I sold it and bought the new oled which actually fits my hand plus it’s nice to finally have oled andv4k
@@LugiThePainDrinkerthe dock has nothing inside it that would upscale, it's compatible with HDMI 2.0, that's it. The switch OLED isn't. That just means that IF Nintendo were to release a 4k switch they could use the same dock
This Chris guys comment is complete bs. To anyone reading I’m 6”8 and have hands big enough to Palm a basketball. I just got the switch lite and no issues with it fitting in my hands or anything of the sort. Not everyone has sausage fingers like “Chriskorol4244”
Ok, with more usage time: heck yes, the OLED makes a difference, despite the bigger form factor. I’m traveling with the Lite and missing the OLED like a smoker misses a cigarette.
dude the oled has more anc better changes then the lite. that it has a oled screen, better speakers and better kickstand and the lite can't switch at all and looks more like toy and worth buying.
The only problem I have with the nintendo switch doc and oled is the disconnection from the joycon. if I were anyone I prefer the doc only for the Doc and Oled handheld sucks! but if you're going to travel where ever I prefer the Lit version.
I'd like a Switch with an 8" to 10" 1080p screen, both analog sticks towards the top of the controllers so I don't get hand cramps from the tiny controllers, a battery that lasts for at least 6 hours of gameplay (my tablet lasts for around 20 hours of gameplay or watching movies from Netflix so it is possible).
I fell the OG Nintendo switch is the best for me because I don't want to spend $50 more just for a bigger screen and not the light because ti can not even switch I don't know why Nintendo thought that would be a good idea
Yes, i’m changing mine to oled model because i’m having trouble reading some texts in some games (e.g The Witcher 3). It’s been tough to me…47 years old…i’m getting old…
Yeah bruh but some ppl are tight on budget or they don't have a TV or they rather playing in handheld mode, so it's quite worth it depending on your needs
@@ghosttiee9212I just got a brand new switch lite with nba 2k23 and Mario brand new for 175 bucks… you buy the switch oled and those two games you’re looking at almost 500…. The lite is better and that’s facts

No? It's designed to be compact and portable. I own a v2 switch but I know someone who only plays portable and it is perfect size and design for portable only play.
@@grim9464 yes you are right it's very portable but that's about the only feature it has and it's cheaper than the normal version with pretty colours that will make a nice birthday gift for a kid. I've traded my lite for the oled version and in my opinion it does represent the best value for money for a switch!
@@sstainlesst I never said the oled wasn't the best value of all three but I disagreed with your statement that the switch Lite is JUST for children. There are the pretty color versions that are obviously marketed towards children and those with an eye for bright objects and even sleeker black and grey designs. It is Nintendo afterall. The original switch is marketed towards children just as much the lite.
That's kinda weird to say especially since nitendo games are generally for kids but that doesn't mean adults can't play them lol 😂 (I personally think that I'll buy the lite because I don't really watch TV or don't at all so their is no point to buy the original )
