I bought an abused one as a toy. It was actually horrifying to drive on the highway but pretty nifty off road. I wouldn't buy another one but I see the allure for messing around on trails.

...I've driven my Samurai from Colorado to California and back 10 times... ...with my wife...camping gear...and three Basset Hounds on board... ...at or above the speed limit... ...at 27 mpg...mpg limited by poor aerodynamics...

TacticalLumberjack I'd rather have your 89 Suburban than that Humvee, as long as it's in good shape. You have way more interior room than the Humvee, and if you have the big block, better towing capacity. I kick myself in the ass years ago for not buying a "real" Suburban when they were still on the truck chassis.

I'd take the H2, sell it to a soccer mom, and with the proceedings buy a Samurai and laden it with fruit such as tyres, suspension and rails, and go where no H2 can go. The rest money would go on cocaine and strippers.

Right! tire size on a Hummer means absolutely nothing! It is kinda like a bad joke! And half the time the damn Hummer won't go into 4wd and lock in the front axle stub's and you still have to bring several gas cans with you to make it back to the gas station!

@@okigojuryu tire size on that type of hummer is kinda moot because of the driveline is a trailblazer for the base model and a suburban for the premium models but the solid rear axle and the front is IFS with the CVA axles and the front diffs have 2 actuators to make the 4x4 work and one is vacuum for the hubs the other is electric for the transfer case and in the Northeast of the country where I am from a inoperable 4wheeldrive and snow or mud\ice and nomatter the tiresize save for a 66"and 10.000lbs with chains you don't get far! But out in the dessert it can be much worse and you get really far away from anybody and then get stuck without a working 4x4 and your walking a very long way home! What I was trying to say simply is why the F are any manufacturer of 4X4 Riggs going away from manual hubs and a lever to engage the Transfercase!? Now there's a button or a turn nob! Loose connection somewhere or cracked line and you're in 2wd! Nomatter the tiresize.

@@billyputnam6892 first off, I couldn't bare to read all that due to shitty grammar, but from what I read, tire size doesn't matter due to them being overglorified chevys... which is actualy false information, and even if they were overglorified chevys, tire size is important, period. Even the Toyota boys can agree on that, and they very rarely agree with anything other than what fellow yota owners say.

First dumbass even the original H1 Hummer is a GM based vehicle! 2nd look it up the H2 is based on the Suburban and parts from the trailblazer parts bins! Hence gas engines like the 6.0-5.3! IFS which is independent front suspension without Dropboxes at the stub Axles! Look up the original commercials announcement for the H2 and it says that 98% of the H2 shares nothing with the original H1 Hummer that despite the massive short comings it at least had 50\50 weight balance and fully independent suspension and with a new banks engine and a Allison 10speed box they can be built into a serious vehicle! But again even though Toyota is a Fuji heavy industry Rigg none of those parts belongs on\in a Sammy! O and Grammer be damned for getting home from work after a 20hour shift working on and towing vehicles back to the garage because of the dumbass information that people like you and TFL videos Tell dumbass Flatlanders what they should be able to do with there vehicles And still doing it wrong! But alas I have a great big secret to Tell you!! Tire size doesn't mean shit if the driver and the vehicle is unable to work together to get the most out of each other! Hence the Stock Sammy on stock tires out wheeling the junk Hummer that is nothing but a blazer with horrible weight bias and a front suspension that's hilarious for off-road driving for it's inability to articulate! Tire size doesn't matter if it's not touching the ground and transferring enough weight\traction to push\pull the full weight of the vehicle! A solid rear axle and a IFS drivetrain makes a fine on road mannered vehicle but off road is not what there design is for! And if you are going to try and whine ABOUT the tire thing again! Tire size is relevant to the Mass weight balance and size! The shorter\lighter the wheelbase the smaller the tires can be! I have been racing Sammy's in the tough truck series for over 20+ years and mud boggs for over 35+and everything in between! I-E actual doing it not keyboard BS and what if's or possibly! Actually have done that and doing it again next week and my job is based on the knowledge of off-road driving and winching and weight balance and available traction on various types of surfaces!

gayland barney to "test"(didn't see a test) 2 off-road vehicles that are as stock as possible. Once you start modifying the Sami, the H2 has no chance.

@@Oddman1980 the H2 has factory installed lockers. It's the only positive thing about that truck. Lockers make up a lot of ground for the H2. I'd still take the Sami, though. If the test was between a real humvee and a sami, I'd take the humvee. I own a sami and humvee, and I have way more fun in the humvee.

@@blakeok952 With a 6.0 v8 probably not. I really just look at a/c as another expensive thing to fix and I drive a 4 cylinder car so 10hp makes a difference.
