rule number 1. if you're a "new" player. don't waste money are trash. save up and buy what u know u want. wasting 300 bucks just to spend more later is stupid. rent until you are capable of buying EXACTLY what u want. do not compromise.
True but if you are new you don't know what you really need and what you really don't need. I don't want to waste my money, that is why I listen to pros on what I really need and what is most important.
Actually it's not a bad idea to have a small budget. For me I spent about $400 on my first setup. I currently still use it but will upgrade everything soon. I will now still have a great setup as a backup or loan to friends who want to play and experience it before they decide to invest or not
Eh... A TIppmann 98 or similar is always relevant (for woods/rec ball at least). I bought my Tippmann 98 probably 17-18 years ago. I just replaced the valve on it and it still works great. It's always a great backup/beater gun or spare for a friend to go along with my other markers. If you rent enough, you could used that same money to buy a low end setup like a Tippmann and own it permanently, so which is really the stupid decision in that case?
Jeremy Howard wow I spent only 250$ mainly because I bought a used gun from my friend which was a piranha gti plus rampage electronic one and then bought a used halo too and a carbon fiber tank from ninja and a gxg pod harness then a valken mi-3 which I still use for a back up
I think instead of buying a tippmann 98 and some crappy crap you should really just save up some money because you will be against rentals with almost the exact same gear. Save up a couple more and buy a 2011 Proto Rail, Empire Halo Too, and a 48/3000 psi tank and choose a decent $40 mask. That's a solid beginner setup for $350 and that's only $50 more than their budget in the video and it absolutely crushes their gear! If you a beginner buying cheap gear you don't need a pod pack anyways! Paint is expensive! Just do your research guys!
Hey I'm a begginer I'm 12 I'm getting a Spyder Aggressor bundle pack that has all the basic materials; Gun, Hopper, CO2 tank, Sgwegee (I have no idea how that's spelt) Mask and barrel Sock, Will that do?
I think anyone who is just getting into paintball probably should avoid the pod packs as it just inspires you to waste more paint in a game and if your budget is $300 you probably do not want to buy more than a box in a day tops. That is of course unless you do something unique. In my efforts to save paint I, in my recent rip, used a 50rd hopper on my cyclone feed and brought one pod. It made me more aware of my paint and I managed to only use much less paint while actually performing better than I usually do.
I went to a yardsale, got a $100 gun for $15 with a tank, hopper, and mask. The gun was trash but I cleaned it up and now it works great. Always check yard sales!
I recommend newer players to watch a crap ton of videos on paintball and just watch a bunch of reviews on guns. But honestly I would not get the stuff in this video. I would save up money or wait for Christmas or your birthday. I recommend new player to get a very good mask, good gun (300-500 dollar range. Pump gun or electric), good hopper (electric), a good HPA tank, and a pod pack. Once you get that stuff you could get pants and pads.
Honestly though if your just getting into paintball the used market if flooded with good stuff where you could do pretty well for yourself with $300 so long as your willing to look. Because many begginers get into woodsball first my recommended setup would be to find a used A-5 with double trigger or response so that you can also get the cyclone and not have to worry about a good electronic hopper later because, lets face it, with both their setups the hopper is going to be the most needed and first upgrade. Then I would go HPA and a jt proflex. With a little hunting a setup like this should be easily found used for around $300.
Shattucknick the smartest comment on here. Craigslist and Facebook has killer deals everyday. Paintballers constantly switch out there gear every year it seems, sometimes more than once a year. I would never buy a new 98 custom or a spyder or an azodin new. That’s just silly. Buying a new mask and harness or soft gear is the only thing you should consider buying new. Cause wearing peoples used shit that they been sweating in is gross. Just my 2 cents
remember these set ups are for new players looking to buy from the shop. the used market has some gems in there that could steer you in the same direction but with a few better choices. overall i do support this video.
Dewey Limbanoz true... but buying new shitty shit can really turn off a new player. You can get a used axe, or an old ego for the price of a new shitty marker. I see it all the time. People rent those guns, and they think paintball is a joke. You give them a solid setup and they will take it a bit more serious.
Could you please post your "purchases" above the comments section? Thanks. I'm getting ready to pull the trigger (as it were) on buying a first time setup and found this video very informative. Thanks and keep up the good work
I say the best at around $250, is a invert mini. They're a bit smaller but they're awesome and so smooth. I first had a spider victor which worked well but I decided to upgrade so I found a $200 deal on CRaigslists which is a good place but you have to make sure they'll let you test it
I'd take the Grillz over the JT just because it's soooo much easier to take the lens of the Grillz than it is to on the JT. Compressed air tank over CO2 tank because it's gentler on the orings, CO2 freezes and chews out o-rings. Great video!
Best advice for new players....buy a great mask, a great tank like a 68/4500 composite tank, and a good hopper like a halo. Go cheap on your first gun. Here's why. You may decide you love the sport and want to go all out. In that case, you've already got a mask, tank, and hopper that can feed any gun out there (at least with respect to tournament caps around 10-12 bps) so get the Ego, Geo, Shocker, or whatever. You may also decide that paintball is just something to do casually. You've still got great gear to do it. Or you decide it's not for you. Sell your gear and because it's decent stuff, better resale value. Bottom line is this, buy once, cry once. Big dude in the video clip above, while offering some great advice, is going to have to purchase a new tank, and a new hopper to feed an upgraded gun. If you buy the higher end hopper and tank right away, you never need another one. But as they say, you pays your money and makes your choice Hope that helps
what I did was my friend allowed me to shoot his marker and as soon as I fired the marker I knew i would have fall in love woth this sport then I Did some research on items that I liked and thought it was good quality then buy them. If you do plenty of research on markers and items you will know what is good
Currently, I'd recommend this for a good beginner setup, but in US dollars, its a little more than 300$ Mask; V-Force Grill Paintball Mask - Black Hopper; Invert Too Paintball Hopper - Matte Black Tank; Ninja SL Carbon Fiber Air Tank w/ Adjustable Regulator - 68/4500 - Black Marker; Tippmann Cronus Paintball Gun - Basic
a great video, I like you guys wealth of knowledge. for someone looking at getting into this I found the O2 mention great. off to checkout the $600 one
Which of the two masks do you prefer. Does the visor really help? I find I get tagged there quite often and was wondering whether no visor would help. Thanks!
If I had to do all over again with only a $300 budget, I'd get a Tippmann TIPX pistol and go from there. Get a descent mask, some spare mags and you're good to go. You'll upgrade eventually anyways. The TIPX has plenty of room to grow from. If you feel like shooting with paintball gun with a hopper, rent one for like $5-10 for the day at just about any field.
this video is now irrelevant (prices gone up) here for any one still looking. JT Elite Prime Paintball Mask - Black Proto Primo Loader - Black Ninja Compressed Air Tank w/ Adjustable Regulator - 48/3000 Tippmann Cronus Paintball Gun - Tactical Edition Ninja Microbore Remote w/ Slide Check Valken Paintball Harness 4+1 - Black ANS 140 Round Pod x4 Total: $264.55 plus Tax.
Cohost Alex, I am a bigger guy myself and I am wondering if there is a mask made for people with bigger than average heads? In my experience not enough of my face is covered when I play. THANKS!!
$300?? And i thought i had spend to much on my beginner package: Tippmann Cronus tactical Vforce mask 48cu 3k Compress air tank 200 round Hopper 4-100 round pods Giant tactical vest Everything was $200 with taxes
I got a recommendation and it goes along with a mechanical Get a Project Salvo Army Tippman get a 40$ air tank because A. its cheap for a tank usually and air is free at most courses and its tough and a bit heavier but that heft will make you lighten up you clothes gear and the gun is 140$ for the gun vanilla no stuff on it id advise if you want a light build and want to afford within 300 bucks is get a Mag-fed adapter for a 98 tippman which will fit since the Salvo is hopper fed styled like it which I love also get a JT full shell it is a little heavier but you can deconstruct it easily to clean also make it a half shell which are "okay" but get half the job done because a scalping is a coming if you don't wear a hoodie or have a beanie and a JT full shell is around 30$ bucks so were at around 110$ without the mag-fed with it its around 160$ then get a pod pack the Vulcan side puller is 15-20$ so were close to 200 but not quite and then you can also get cargo pants for around 30$ then get a under armor shirt 10-15$ dollars for 225$ were halfway done then next thing is get a hoodie that is light but camo/black/grey those are the colors most courses are and you can blend in at woods ball indoors, and speedball its light and helps you hold more stuff same with cargo pants and invest in this bag www.amazon.com/G4Free%C2%AE-Tactical-Assault-Messenger-Camping/dp/B00RGFGZDI/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1453175188&sr=8-10&keywords=Army+Gym+hiking+bag This bag will be amazing for you I can fit my salvo stock folded a scope, a holo-sight, tank, 2 squeegees, my mag-fed and also if you still want the hopper it does fit slightly and also tools gloves will fit get these gloves(bag is 20$ so its at 245$) www.amazon.com/dp/B00PBK9SMU?psc=1 I advice getting hardshelled knuckled gloves because you might hit ur hands on rocks and shit so these help a lot and their 16-20 bucks so you got gloves that are good all around their light and breathable, so then were at 265$ so what else you ask can we get well a good pair of boots usually lie around your home but these Georgia boots are amazing but will tip you a lot over about 100 get the steel toed they are good www.amazon.com/Georgia-Boot-Athens-Wellington-Work/dp/B0047850K6/ref=sr_1_5?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1453175455&sr=1-5&nodeID=7141123011&keywords=Georgia+Boots The last bit of money you should invest in this if you plan on working in humid places www.amazon.com/FOG-WIPER-Airsoft-Paintball-Mask/dp/B006V5A120/ref=pd_sim_328_54?ie=UTF8&dpID=51cGdy6I6lL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=19JBA8R88AB4KBAN1PYD that is like 10 bucks so were at 275$ so the last bit you should spend on DIY'ing ur gun add black matte fabric tape to ur tank coil to make it black and less shiny then make improvised camo use anything add it to your gun then you got a good setup PEACE~
I feel like they were pulling a kronk from emperors new groove. the poison to kill kusko. the poison designed specifically to kill Kusko. kusko's poison. that poison right
crazyluke2006 great setup. lol all you need if you wanna upgrade later would be a gun and hopper. if you get an electro that is... you have the best mask you could ever buy. and a decent hpa tank
Paul Tabet Thanks, I decided to go all out on a mask cause it's widely considered as the most important piece of equipment and go cheap on everything else but the tank.
crazyluke2006 dye i 4's are great. you can only change the lens if they get messed up. don't wipe off paint with your shirt if you get hit on your mask. use a soft cloth.
I'm new to this shit and of course I jumped out there b4 I saw this vid. What do you guys think? I purchased: - Azodin Kaos - Halo electronic hopper- Empire hpa tankInvert - Helix goggles
Coby Bertrand there parents have money? They can do chores? Grab a lawn mower and mow peoples lawns? Collect cans and plastic bottles? There’s money everywhere, even if you are a kid, this new generation is lazy asf.
you can get brand new 3k hpa tanks for like 35$ on ebay. gorilla tank or something like that.. i always have markers, tanks and hoppers for sale if your ever looking for empire axes, or sometimes higher ends for a fair price look up my name on ebay.
What's the website of the stored, could you buy online I'm new in this type of game. It's really fun to play. I went with friends and play and I love it I use a rental one, but now I want my own where can I buy my own?
That's because of currency exchange rate differences, shipping, duty and taxes. Right now if a Canadian went to the US to buy a new marker, he would pay more than if he bought it from Canada without declaring it to customs. Why? Because here in Canada, you are paying the same price for the same marker in the US. The only difference is the currency. $1 CAD = $0.72 US So, a marker costing $550 US = $764 CAD.
I'm a serious noob at this I'm thinking about getting into paintball do you just like wipe it off your clothing after you get hit I know that was a stupid stupid question😕
hey guys i see the bigger guy likes the JT Proflex i myself am a bigger guy aswell and can sometimes breath really heavy im worried about fog and wanted your opinions on the Empire Eflex vs JT Proflex on fogging and for a bigger dude as explained any replies are appreciated
