One double-standard that upset me when I was younger was that my mum would shout at me for being selfish or inconsiderate if I forgot to record something on TV that she'd ask me to, but if she forgot to record something when I'd asked, it was no big deal. In these days of streaming and most things being found easily and quickly, it seems laughable that this was ever a problem...

People at my husband's work think he's some crazy awesome tech troubleshooter. In reality he is actually a tech dinosaur who doesn't know how to do much of anything tech related. What he does know how to do is turn something off and back on again. That fixes it like 90% of the time.

Once I was in middle school I did actively forge their signatures with their "permission". I did this successfully because my parents both worked a lot of hours, so I first picked a moment where my mom was super busy and tried to get her to sign it. She said she didn't have time so I offered to sign it for her I already knew her signature at this point and told her as much. She agreed and let me sign it, she never signed a form for me after this point because id just offer to sign the big forms every time and hid the discipline forms from her.

Gordon Ramsey does get rather agitated with adults, but I absolutely love watching him on cooking shows with children. It shows his kind and nurturing side.

My coworkers think running my machine is easy because they see me sitting while it runs. What they dont see is the weekly centrifuge cleaning to get rid of all the wet steel dust, the packet of math problems I have to do to set up the machine, taking the lids off tge fluid tanks with a crane, vacuuming up the brown water and steel dust from the tank, testing the fluid concentration, the examination under a microscope to make sure the cut looks good, and much much more. The stuff I make goes into a human body. If anything, I find their machines easy, and I prove it every time I'm assigned to them when I run out of my work.

When I was like four, I went into the creepy bathroom at my dad's work(army), and someone had posted photos on inner stall of people getting dragged into the toilet screaming. Being a little kid, it reset my potty training almost entirely, my dad was a pretty high ranking officer at the time, and someone got in trouble. I'm better now, I still get creeper out by automatic toilets though

Kanji / Hanzi is actually a bit easier to get behind once you understand the system of it. There are certain components that make up a sign that give hints on the meaning or pronunciation. You still need to learn them but it makes it a bit easier to remember and/or to guess the meaning of an unknown sign

I'm able to fix washers a dryers. It's not hard to do at all. My dad taught me when I was a kid when he'd have me shadow him where he worked during summer breaks. He worked for the city housing authority, aka section 8 housing or rent was based on income plus we would drive around the rich side of town to find practically brand new dryers or washers on curb. For dryers, in the back inside a lot of lint will form, causing one of four wires to burn out. Or one of three of three fuses would trip. Easy to fix by going to your local parts store, pay a measly $5 for a wire and or fuse. Now for the washer, it'll be the housing unit of the motor, if you're good with motors that's an easy fix. I would routinely fix the dryers in my army barracks when I was in, would piss off the civilian contractors cause they would make excuses to the barracks nco so they could get paid nicely by uncle sam. I'd fix it in a few minutes where they would take weeks or month. Screw the civilian and contractors who f up our lives in the barracks. We need our Corps of Engineers back who specialize in that.
