What's the deal with Majorette Diecast Toy Cars? [Beyond Hot Wheels Ep. 3 Majorette] 

I grew up in Greece and at the etime Majorette were the major brand available for purchase. As a kid it was close to impossible to find anything else, unless you were for the usually larger and cheap feeling plastic ones from a variety of local and not companies. They were (80s) well made cars and even the ones with the opening parts tended to be well built without much issues (breaking etc). Not to say I didn't have 1-2 with a missing door or something. Still, I had about 130 in total and 1-2 having them was not a bad number. I remember even back then they had specialized lines, like James Bond cars. With me owning a white Lotus in the submerged mode (though still with the wheels). It was great owning these cars, lots of fan as a kid. I even learned some life lessons with them. For example when you have a favorite toy car, do not place it on a heating appliance to "warm it up" during the winter months. It will get warmer, but it will also have its wheels melted. :( It was an Audi Quattro racing car. :( I loved that car. Thanks for sharing.

I’ve become more aware as the tiers were slightly confusing to me as well. I definitely like the Rally Cars they’re starting to grow on me. Great break down and comparisons

Very interesting majorette has always been one of my favorites i like the new stuff but prefer the Vintage stuff. Majorette has always been a bit quirky back in the day they were known as the French Matchbox because of the similarity i remember being a kid and they're being a basic range and a deluxe range and to make it even more complicated I've come across basic majorette that has one opening part but it's hit or Miss and that's on the pegs over here in the UK all the best my friend 👍👍👍

I love majorette, have all of Porsche 934 released, they look so cool together. Beautiful. They and Matchbox are my favorite. I rarely buy those from expensive brands.

Majorette makes nice quality castings. The details might be a bit off on some of the models though. The blue and yellow Porsche are super sweet. I love the Rally Polos 😍

yeah it really sucks that majorette isn't sold a lot here saw a few at target once but really don't see em at all

Love these Beyond Hot Wheels because there are definitely many brands out there and I feel like a lot of US based collectors only know Hot Wheels. I like their RLC stuff but for the price, there are definitely more details models to get. Do you have any PGM models? I would like to see a video on your thoughts on those super expensive models. Also, Mini GT will have a pretty stock version of the R34 GTR… I know you were hoping there would be. 341 and 348 will be Bayside Blue and Bronze.

Some of the street cars, the suspension can be off( too high). Apart from the paint easily chipping off they are making some really nice cars. Good vid🇮🇪👍

I have been trying to find majorette in my local Walmart and it’s not there because they do not sell it because I’m trying to find random stores if they have majorette because majorette is more popular in Europe and Asia same thing with the Middle East

my favorite majorette is the bmw 3000csi from the 70s. in europe you can still find them in played with with condition. the paint will be bad but the opening doors are most likely to be there. their opening parts were solid and they had great models. in europe we didnt have any need for hotwheels...

I used to dislike Majorette because one mall only had old stocks of the regular line with limited castings. I wasn't impressed. My opinion changed when a new mall opened and the deluxe and premium cars were available. I saw deluxe Porsches and that VW WRC hatch.

Some of these look familiar. I have found a few new castings which have just become available and will put a few into your next box.

Well actually there is a 4th level which has : licensed vehicle + opening parts + rubber tires + suspensions + inserted plastic lights + metal body + metal base and it is a way better than hw premium

sometimes when the claimed scale is 1:64 its not the truth however when it's another scale its accurate.

Majorette is hit or miss

I grew up with the brand as a kid of the 80s in French speaking Montreal. As much as the Made in France are my favorite vintage diecasts to collect, more so than Made in England Lesney, Made in Hong Kong HW or Made in Japan Tomica...I couldn't care less about Made in Thailand Majorette, they are simply overpriced and the quality is not there, I tried hard to like them (spent over $100 when they re-launched in summer 2016) but they just suck, it pains me to say as I love the brand and it's history. There are much better alternatives in that price point and cheaper, starting with mainline Matchbox which is my favorite contemporary brand.

1. Majorette do not know what "premium" means. 2. Majorette do not have a consistent scale. 3. Majorette's wheels and rims are on the same aesthetic level as they were in 1988.

I have a few Majorette 1970s Celicas. Couldn't find the HW version of that car and love the casting vs HW.
