What's The Deal With Simulator Games? 

Farming Simulator started this whole craze. I'm surprised you never mentioned it. Before that, when I was a kid, I used to play a bunch of games from the 18 wheels of steel games, which all are like the grandpas of euro truck simulator

For some reason I've became really into train sims. There is just something about driving an DB ICE gen 3 at 260kph with LZB and PZB systems you have to work with

My Summer Car is a go to for me along with the Car Mechanic Simulator games. I'm also a gear head so I like that stuff.

The only true sim game is ‘Desert Bus’

So I've been gaming for a long time now. I can remember a day when simulators were things we couldn't do in normal life such as swat 4, OG Ghost recon, OG Rainbow six. The simulator aspects and those were how realistic they could betray environments and situations that we don't get to experience every day. Many have made an argument Stalker was a simulator in depravity haha. I suppose the term can be very broad. Maybe because it's mostly only indie developers who work in the simulator genre nowadays.

you should've brought up the lawnmower part in Bully, the rockstar game from 2006. i knew id love lawnmower sim since I loved that part of Bully as a kid.

I want a plant Sim w pots. Not farming, tbh as someone who travels it's hard to keep realism so gaming can also help in that aspect.

I don't know if you reply to comments but I wanted to ask you if you think that games like "Wolf Simulator" or "Tiger Simulator" are considered simulator games, or if you ever played one of these and what are your opinions on these games?

I actually like the weird uncanny/liminal feeling of a lot of simulators. I don't know i can't explain it. Personally I'm quite fond of Microsoft FSX because becoming a pilot has been a life long dream of mine. I also downloaded the American Truck Sim demo (because I am, in fact, a yank) but I haven't actually bought it yet because we don't have healthcare and I have to pay for my medications out-of-pocket. And on your closing comments, I once flew a C-47 from Fairbanks, Alaska to Los Angeles. Relaxing, mundane bliss.

I am actually suprised you didnt talk about Farm Simulator, its like the second best Simulator game, but i would assume this is because you talk about games you had expirience with only

I think the games are made for resumes lol. People code the game as a project to showcase what they can do.
