The best way for understanding how running (not downloading) malware destroys a pc is: “buying a moldy apple from the store doesn’t make you sick, but eating it does”
For real Thio, SO many youtube channels provide about 1-2 videos that have value but you seem to have more than many videos all useful & educates the proper way with well timed examples/ pictures. Keep up the good work man.
Good video man! I am not an IT whizz. I’m not super skilled or knowledgeable when it comes to computers, but I’m curious and I like to try and learn. I found this video educational and it is nicely presented. You’re obviously a gifted genius. Keep doing awesome things. Thanks!
@AwesomeKalin 55 Linux has been running the web for years. Android is Linux, running billions of phones. The only thing getting viruses is the average Windows Desktop OS.
-The virus is the species -The malware is a virus that does damage the computer -The trojan is like an undefusable bomb that, when explodes, completely obliterates and bricks the computer Thats my description of the main 3
I once forgot about my laptop for a couple months (don't remember what i was doing) and when i came back and started using the internet i forgot to update everything and i got scareware installed via steam, I'm glad it was only that cause it could have been so much worse. The malware I'm most scared of is the worms that spread to computers and just lay dormant, because who really knows what they're going to be used for someday? The majority of the worlds computers could be infected and we would never know it and we might never find out who did it until one day we wake up and everyone's files are deleted something even worse. That's just the kinda stuff that keeps me up at night anyway.
Thanks for the headsup Thio. My IT specialist is a good friend. I self taught myself computer functions when XP PRO was released. Being a club DJ and Audio/Visual Engineer and getting my first electric shock at 4 years of age, gave me an advantage over other guys. I'm not a genius but I know what to look for. I'm running for security...Emsisoft Security, Malwarebytes Premium, Clean Up and Gaurdio. Cheers from Australia, Andrew. XXX??
Another few tips to stay secure. 1. Always use brain.exe. Everybody has one. If used properly, it prevents preatty much every Malware. 2. if you absolutely want to download and execute something or do something you are not aware if it could be malicious, use a virtual machine. It is easy to set up (5 minutes max) and can be deleted if something malicious lands on it. it is also a great way to thinker around, work with torrents etc if you aren't sure what exactly you are doing or downloading.
My parents had 2 trojans they were called "pc speed up pro" Obviously 10 years ago my parents thought it wasn't bad but turns out it did anything that the attacker wanted it to do.
I'm about to watch this. More video's about the major differences and how to protect yourself from these kinds of issue's should be made more. Hope this isn't clickbait. I'll return after video: Edited: After watching your video I'd say you did an excellent job at explaining the difference between different kinds of malicious and misleading software that can ruin people's machine's. I was really hoping as i Was watching the video that you are going to suggest some types of ways for an average user to defend himself against these kinds of viruses, malware, ransom Ware ETC,and you did. What i would like to see if you have made a video content connecting this video with demo or ways these can accidentally happen and how less knowledgeable ppl can recovery from people trying to do harmful things to their PC, mobile, tablets, etc.. over all great introductions to MANY important horrible events that occur when you are unaware while surfing the net. Can't wait to see compilation to this video. ( If there already is one I'm extremely sorry, which I'll find out the next 5 minutes as I looked through your videos.) 👍
1. disconnect drive with rootkit. 2. connect it on a linux pc 3. Connect a clear windows drive on the linux pc 4. Do not reboot pc 5. Open evry single file from booth the orginal and the rootkit drive in visual studio code in compare mode. 6. If you find a modifyed windows or registry file replace with the rootkiy drive file with the windows original file. NOTE 1. Do not connect the rootkit drive to a windows pc unless you checked evry single file. NOTE 2. Make sure that the linux pc dose not have any file extension autostart eneabled. NOTE 3. Make sure that you have show hidden files eneabled in the linux file explorer.
Another good antivirus software is norton. It does cost money but its worth it when you get protected from so many things I wouldn't have even have known tried to enter my system / tried to connect to it.
Oh wow so I guess what I got that one time was a ransomware huh, scary stuff. I went onto a fake minecraft optifine website to download the mod but instead I got an executable that ended up infecting my computer with a malicious version of chromium and a ransomware that zipped up all of my files and tried to force me to subscribe to their unzipping service. The ransomware was surprisingly easy to get rid of, all i had to do was uninstall it, but chromium was a whole other story. Had to run like 5 different types of programs just to get it to stop its processes since it would infinitely replicate itself and restart itself in the task manager. I'm pretty sure I had to go through the registry keys or something to completely remove it because it was that regenerative
Linux doesn't need one because it's more secure I mean there is a free one called Comodo Antivirus for Linux or ClamAV the rest of them for Linux are commerical products
quick question; can you install a virus checker and keep windows defender, i remember years ago (win 7) i had problems with having both running but had loads of trouble trying to disable defender
It also helps to know how to spot and remove malware manually. Malware like chrome adware and the chromium/oracle malware are relatively harmless on their own and easy to spot and remove without an antivirus if you know what you’re looking for and what to do once you find it. Just be sure to scan with windows defender or whatever you use to detect viruses to make sure all traces of the malware are gone.
I have antivirus and backup my data and my computer is infected by i dont even know what it cant boot up it's stuck in a auto repair loop when i hit remove everything it said there was a problem reseting your pc and then it crashes and it says insert usb or disk no drive found... press a key to continue then it just Says the same thing when i inserted the backup it said connected then loaded then crashed again woth blue screen error code 0xc000021a and then the same thing happened PLEASE HELP I DONT HAVE MONEY FOR USB I ALREADY TRIED ONE AND IT SAID INSTALLING THEN PROBLEM WITH BOOTING NO CHANGES WERE MADE
Me: gets ransomware on my Windows/Linux dual-boot while in windows. Me later: remembers that Windows cant control Linux, but the reverse is true, and just copy the files to my linux partition
Am using Norton on the computer an the smart phone. It does block the bad sites and warns me if I am about to download something bad. I also use clean master on the phone. Make sure to scan the phone an computer every day before you shut them down. Yes I have had those supposed sites appear telling me that I am infected. Totally ignore them. They want your $$$. If I get a pop up on the smartphone saying that I have been attacked. Do not touch it. Turn it off immediately. Then back on, do the virus protection an clear the cache an history. Has worked every time.. Why wasn't all this thought about when the internet was first invented?
Anyone heard how new Samsung TVs and the new S10 range are getting McAfee? YEAH, a TV is getting MCAFEE. Despite running Tizen. *Punches own face in agony*
*THIO - hi I have a question what are the absolute best ANTI = Spyware and Anti = Maleware = That prevents all spying bots and bugs from reaching your PC through music down loads and down loads in general?* P.S. (I ask this because I had a former close friend from the Middle-E that said that he could literally take over and see a person's cell phone without even touching it and only by knowing it's texting number . Long story short . HE WAS ABLE TO DO SO!)
My first experience with trojan was when i tried to install persona 5 for free in 2017 and instead i fcked up my laptop and if i remember correctly, i had around 50 or more trojans and maybe other viruses or something😭😭💀
I have a malware so bad that every time I reinstall chrome it comes back. It is literally so bad I had to switch to brave. Also when malwarebytes quarantines it, it just comes back. I think I might have got the most advanced virus ever.
