I have an OCD Overdrive and I love it. It's especially great when boosting the overdrive setting that I have on my amp, great for metal tones.

The great thing about your channel is that everyone at any stage of guitar can reference it. It's not solely focused on advanced or beginner techniques. So, thank you. Also, if you've got tips on how to improvise in the style of Mayer, Hendrix, or Vaughn, that'd be awesome my guy.

Hey Marty, thanks for the overdrive pedal comparison. I ended up getting the Fulltone ocd. Love it,then I got the v2 ocd. I liked the sound of the analog man king of tone overdrive that you demo’d though too.

I am using a Mooer Blues Mood into a Fender BJ III feeding a 2x12 cabinet with a Swamp Thang, and a Cannabis Rex. Good combo for playing the blues/ old school rock.

My favorite drive pedal and usually my only one is a Chicago Stompworks TS808 clone. I've used it as a boost and for everything in between! I just love the organic warm yet also bright tone it produces. :)

Use amp for higher gain and get a wah delay looper or possibly a nice overdrive

Just got a Joyo Vintage Overdrive, they are inexpensive & sound great. What do you think of amp sims like Bias & Amplitube? Free versions of both are offered if anyone wants to try them. For us Canucks please do some April Wine tunes. Thanks Marty.

Man, I've been hearing about that AnalogMan King of Distortion a lot lately. I found an AnalogMan Tube Screamer that I'm using for light distortion but I think I may have to invest in that KoD here soon. Sounds great. I'm a relatively new guitarist so I only have a few pedals. I like my Big Muff Pi fuzz alright.

I own both original and re issue nobels Odr-1. They are good but nothing special. Just like any decent overdrive, it's mostly dependent on your pickups and amp. Of course the tone is in your hands.

my amp is a VOX pathfinder 10 so it already has overdrive :) so i'm thinking what to get between delay and wah (i'm not good enough to play ''normal'' metallica solos, so wah is a little less usefull but i'd like your advice on that, with a budget of like 70$ what pedal is great either wah and delay)

The King Of Tone is the one pedal you need if you have a good amp and like your tone and just want more gain and boost. It doesn’t color your tone very much. Just gives your amp more gain stages. I use it on my Marshall 1962HW. It’s perfect for it.

Ha ha. Magnum P.I. Love it! Newbie question: Do distortion pedals always add volume? I have a Boss Katana 50, and to get distortion in needs to be pretty loud, which drives the wife and kid crazy. Can I get distortion without high volume?

It wasn't displayed that into a Fender style amp the OCD gives a Fender overdrive in low-peak mode but in high-peak it is very driving Marshall (like displayed)

Most of the professionals I know in bands hardly ever use a footswitch. Some use a wah pedal. I like the electro Harmonix made in USA fuzz Buster distorsion. I like that cool little trick you turn down your guitar it sounds clean turn it up you got distortion. Don't most bands use their amps to get the sound?

My setup is simple I play my sg or strat into a electric Harmonix hot tubes into a ctr set 5 single end tube amp I use the pedal as a boost I usually don't use it for drive

How do you know when looking what type of pedal it is? As in, which are overdrive, loop etc if it's not printed on the pedal? Model numbers and brand names don't mean anything to me at first glance as I have no clue about pedals.

With today's modeling amps you can get a variety of different effects, so I think the pedal/s to get are the effects those amps don't mimic, like a wah or fuzz, maybe a looper, but I wouldn't be surprised if higher end modeling amps start adding them if they haven't already.

OCD is great, set at low drive it can be always on. Recommended One should be aware that the guitar and especially the amp change dramatically the tone one gets from any pedal. So don't be surprised if what you get from your Tele with an OCD sounds different, if you don't have Marty's amp.

Love my OCD, it can add a subtle muddy sound for blues and crank up basically to full on distortion and everything in between.

I have Royal Flush Overdrive which is 95% KoT, best pedal by far, I use Nobels OD1 (had never left my pedal board!) with gain at 1-3 and is an awesome tone thickener with mild thick transparent od while keeping original tone, sold my OCD, to much loss of original tone for my liking, lol. I run Nobels into the Royal Flush to make it even more Juicy! If I had to have 1 I'd choose the KoT but way to expensive, that's why I use the Royal Flush - same dual pedal set up, thing SRV on steroids yet retains note clarity = sonic greatness! Just my non-cents.
