Just got my first slant razor, Merkur 39c. Loaded it with a Feather blade, Proraso kit and sooooo smooth. Hoping this will reduce my ingrown hairs. Been wet shaving for 9months and your channel and Kensurfs have been my "bible". Thanks for all the vids hope everyone is safe and healthy!

YMMV but for me the slant totally changed the game. Heavy, dense and super tough beard - the slants are always like 200% more efficient than the best regular ones.

Sometimes I do the "Gillette slide" when I shave with my Merkur 34C, and I notice the difference immediately

I also have the Merkur 39c Slant Bar. It blows my Mach 3 clean out of the water. What I love most about it is that it simply slices through tough beard hair with no pulling whatsoever. My skin condition has improved a lot since I started using it and I have very sensitive skin. My wife is also interested in using it on her legs given how well it shaves.

I have thick hairs and Wunderbar is my endgame, retired all other razors. Basically non-slants with sharp blades didn’t work for me. With the wunderbar now I can use smoother blades. What are your favorite razors?

every man is built different. if your hair is more finer, you'll be better off with a traditional flat bar because it's not so aggressive. however, for people who have thicker hair, like myself, i found that using a slant bar razor will shave more effectively and "slice" through my more course hair. because of my middle eastern ethnicity, i require a much more aggressive safety razor, mind you i needed to get more experience before switching to a slant bar, and i pair my safety razors exclusively with feather razor blades. slow, steady, soft strokes and my face is infinitely more smoother than when i first started.

60+yr old....My First time using a slant. My Beard was always tough, but now has turned into barbed wire. I usually use a '61 Fatboy with Feather blades to cut the the beard or I get serious tugging and pulling. At a FLEA MARKET FOR $9.60 I bought a SS Slant Blade Razor, SS Velour lined carry case, and 2-SS Razor packaging cases that all fits nicely in the case. I'm "guessing" this is a 1940-50's razor. After cleaning it My first test with it was with a "Gillette Platnum" blade. I WAS JUST SIMPLY AMAZED....A FANTASTIC PAINLESS CLOSE SHAVE FIRST PASS. Usually this blade tugs and pulls My thick hard as nails beard, that's why I use Feathers. BUT NOT WITH THIS SLANT...No pulling, only one pass (not 2 lessoning possible razor burn), and it was clean too. No stumbles or patches left behind needing a 2nd cut. SIMPLY AMAZED after all these years.

I've got the Merkur 37C, and find it more effective against a 2- or 3-day growth than a typical 1-day growth. Smooth as a hot knife through butter.

does this mean when you have 2 or 3 days of growth, that using that raozr allows you to get all the way down to baby butt smooth, or when you have 2 to 3 days of growth with this razor, that you only get it down to the equivalent of 1 day of stubble length?

@@robertnewton5343 For me, it's smooth---------As with all things shaving (since everybody and every body and technique is different), your mileage may vary--------Slant head razors are great to have, but should not be the only double edge safety razors to have and use.

My first safety razor was an Edwin Jagger 89 DE. I deteriorated ot by tightening it too much. Now I own a Wilkinson Sword Classic(the black one). Would the Merkur 37c be a good option for my third safety razor?

merkur and EJ are made the same way. Get something in brass or stainless for longer term reliablility.

I found this video I the funniest (to me) way! I was looking for a gloe in the dark razor handle (I'm a 90s kid sue me 😂😂!) And found one that has the slant and had no clue what it was meant for in terms of how effective it would make it. Now I'm going to buy it because it seems more effective, really cool and I mean come on, it freaking glows!
