Very cool chuck, I've never seen somebody roast black sands like that, I've heard of it but it was cool to see that, Thanks for sharing Brother, Hope you and the family have an amazing New Year's 👍😊
Justin my friend, hope all is well with you and your family. Thanks for watching, Glad you enjoyed seeing the process. Have a safe and Happy New year.🎈🎈🧨🧨
Nice video. I saw someone use a campfire with a vacuum exhaust blowing air into the coals. He had black sands inside a steel container and shock shattered the black sands in water as well.
Have you heard of the roller mill technique developed in Yukon? A couple cups.put in a roller mill ie rod .mill turns about 60 rpm for.6 or 7 minutes the rods shoppers black sands into small partials and flatten gold then straining the sand and gold mix through a screen the black sands fall through and the enlarged gold is caught. Recovery was increased 33 to 50 %
Hard rock University has a great panning method for superfine gold, you might try it and see if you can't get more gold from these black sands, the superfine stuff anyways. Great video! ❤ I might have to try this someday!
Thanks for watching and commenting. Good tip on the panning, works well with small amounts. Recently bought a Miller table that also works very well with 100- material.
I think I got it. The heat separates the gold from the black sand better. Is it correct that way ? I've never seen that before. Thanks for showing it. Peter wishes you good luck in the new year ⚒🍻🇩🇪
Yep looks just my my coat. You just need a silicone mat in the bottom of a blue bowl to clean up that gold. Great video Chuck thanks for sharing going to have to give that a try.
This is a good way to get nuggets out of quartz to, get it red hot, quench it and the quartz turns to mush, and you can almost break it up with your hands. Another RU-vidr had a video on it, "quartz from gold hack".
Hey Dave, Good to hear from you. Hope your 2021 is golden my friend. Roasting black sands is not hard but is very time consuming. It does produce more gold if it comes out of a gold bearing area.
Thanks for this info my creek is loaded with sulfides & blacksand be nice to try this with all my sluice cons just gotta get a me a cast iron pan I can have for mining only heavy pans to you sir!
I think that you are correct. Most prospectors don't want to invest in a table. Actually it is much better. Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it. Have a safe and Happy New year.
kudos to you chuck! this is something that i read many years ago in book about transmutation skeptic at first, but maybe they were partially true about roasting black sand, why you didn't use any magnet while separating roasted black sand, is there make any differences?
Could save some money on gas and heat your sands i a cast iron dutch oven on a wood fire next time you happen to be camping also? Great idea... thanks and greetings from Oz
This could be Hugh! I've tossed lbs of gold bearing black sands all over my gravel driveway 😦 ! Going to try this after we actually get some water and good dredge cons ect..lol over temp reminds me of Amy cooking 🍳 breakfast at camp🤣
The only problem with this system is that it might be very time consuming in small batches.😢 Thanks for watching and good luck with you next breakfast.🤔😊🤣
Very good tip Brother. Is there any danger of harmful fumes? I'm thinking maybe using an old grill with the lid shut to retain heat. Then I could load two good size old cookie sheets with the black sands.
@@CandSMINING, they still wouldn't work after you roasted the black sands? Isn't that what the Miller Table was for? Forgot to ask, would a smelter setup work for roasting the black sands or would it get too hot?
@@johnruckman2320 Miller table material must be pre screened to a min of 30-. Most of us screen up to 60-. After roasting a miller table or a Drop riffle sluice can be used to clean up the fines. A smelter or foundry will get to hot.
The amount of gold recovered compared to the black sand processed is really good. I see so many people just dumping their black sand and losing a lot of gold. Just had to do the video.👍👍
I'm not sure if this is true but I've heard that it's not a great idea to breathe near the area your heating since the black sand can have pyrites like Arsenopyrite and sulfides like Cinnabar can be dangerous to humans.
Thanks for watching and making your generous offer. My email and mailing address is in the description of this video. I will email this AM. Have a very safe New year.😎👍👍⛏⛏🎈🧨
