My blood pressure has always been low, and when I was 14 years old, I stood up out of my bed, walked directly across the hall to the bathroom, and looked in the mirror because I was about to brush my teeth for the morning. Then I woke up on the floor, with a memory of the sound of me absolutely clocking my skull on the side of my bathtub as I went down. I was terrified that I would have broken something, or concussed myself, but when I felt my head, nothing hurt. I had no bumps, no bruises, nothing. In hindsight I should have told my parents, and had them check my eyes with a light, but I had no concussion symptoms afterward and I was just fine.

Broke my collarbone at age 5 when my audiotape of The Smurfs scared me badly enough that I fell off my bed backwards. Took me years to forgive the Howlibird of season 1. Edit: Also dropped on my butt playing beach volleyball during PE. Barely took a step backwards, not even in any hurry to get the ball, lost my balance in the sand and went down hard. Mild concussion. The day I returned to school, some of my classmates deemed it a great idea to play soccer in our classroom. The ball hit me in the back of the head and I got to nurse my second mild concussion.

i bumped my head on an open upper cabinet when i stood up from grabbing something from a lower cabinet. (honestly, 'bumped' is too strong of a word). i got a truly horrific concussion. i couldn't drive for 2 months; i needed 6 months of speech and physical therapy; my glasses prescription changed by 1.7. i was in my last year of law school and needed special accommodations for all my classes and finals, had to quit my internship, had to quit a community clinic, had to decline helping my professor editing his text book. i barely graduated and i consider it a miracle i passed the bar exam 9mos later. worst experience of my life. i got another concussion several years later from my cat pouncing on my head, but that one wasn't bad. oh i also tripped while walking once and broke my foot. didn't even fall down- just tripped. on crutches for a month.

My mom broke her ribs when my dad picked her up one night to give her a hug. She'd passed out from the pain during the night, fell and hit her head on the bathroom floor and by the morning my dad had brought her to the hospital (she fully recovered luckily). Another time she took teenage me to get a minor dental surgery done and after we were done, she fell unconscious in the waiting room because watching the procedure had made her woozy. Her foot hurt afterwards, turns out she broke her ankle in the fall and had to get a metal plate inserted. After that, she wisely decided not to stay in the room with me when I had to get my wisdom teeth removed a few years later. :D

I have a few...I tore a ligament in my thumb playing video games. I broke my own nose throwing a softball around, tossed the ball up, it hit a tree branch and hit me directly on the nose. Broke my wrist trying to pick up my school bag...I was standing on the strap and took my legs out from under me when I picked it up. I tore a ligament in my shoulder slipping on ice, I DIDN'T fall. I injured my ulnar nerve (the "funny bone" nerve) trying to close the microwave door. I caught the edge of the door right to the nerve dealt with pins and needles/burning pain for a WEEK and couldn't hold anything fragile in my left hand for months because I dealt with involuntary hand movement because of it.

The worst injury I've gotten from a simple task was when I was cutting an apple with the at the time new slicer I bought so I wouldn't need to use two knives anymore. I made a bad judgment call, my right thumb slipped against one of the blades and almost cut part of that finger off. Surprisingly, both for a wound that bled profusely and a cutting blade injury, it was shockingly mild and I just need to put a bandaid on it and change said bandaid regularly. No stitches or emergency room visit necessary. Moral of the story, if you manage to clog your apple slicer, push from the top of the blade, not the bottom, or you'll end up with the same injury as me if not a worse one that WOULD land you in the nearest ER.

I had so many injuries from barely doing the effort for it.. I woke up one day with a broken collar bone, dislocating a shoulder while making coffee, breaking toes from tripping over the treshhold, breaking my nose by jumping on a piece of plasting landing my nose on a wall.. More recent include convinced that you lift your leg but didn't and fall in a weird way hurting my knee and hitting my head in the door in the same fall. I jumped down 2 steps and broke my ankle (stupid me kept on walking on it until an X-ray done 6 months later showed the fracture). But eventually I found out I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, a connective tissue condition, what turns out to be the culpret of most injuries. I (dis)luxate joints on a daily base and have a ton of internal problems (like paralized bowels and kidney/bladder issues). My most scary problem is my neck though. I got hit by a car while on my bike, ended up biking home and saw GP the next day. She ordered X-rays of my neck and not an injury showed but I have a lot of arthritis and narrowing of the spine going on in there. She said my neck looked like an 80 year old (I was 30 at the time). The narrowing can actually internally decapitate me if I headbang or with sudden movements so that's a scary one. Although it would look nice on the death certificate: Cause of death: internal decapitation!

I have so many scars and broken bone history with stories attached, but I can't think of one that wasn't a result of cooking, tripping, disease, sports, stupidity, or in general something you'd expect to cause injury, not something mundane like sneezing or getting out of bed. The closest is the big goose egg I got when I was looking back while I was walking to see if mom was pulling into the parking lot, and as I turned my head back around I smacked into a pillar. I still get headaches in the spot when humidity is high.

When I was 17 and a senior in highschool, a combination of a ton of writing and drawing, a lot of playing piano, and a good amount of tone chime practice resulted in me getting carpal tunnel syndrome. Not bad enough for surgery, but bad enough I suffered. Not from pain, although that wasn't all that fun either, but from the knowledge I couldn't do my favorite things or a lot of the things necessary for school as it would only get worse and could potentially result in needing surgery.

Little context: the switch for the bar of outlets for my computer setup is next to the back wall under my desk's desktop. So I have to bow down and go up to my shoulder below the desktop to reach it to toggle it. One day when I had just turned the switch off I pulled my arm back out and hit it with full force on the relatively sharp edge of my desk chair's arm rest, in a way that it went right into the smooth part of my elbow and crashed into the bones in the lower part of the arm. Well, my arm went numb for a while and now (it happened a few days ago) whenever I fully bend my arm or put pressure on my elbow it hurts a little. But the exact same thing has happened to me once before (about a year ago) and it went away after one or two weeks, so I'm not worried. I'm just surprized it happened again.

Throughout college, my aunt (closest family I had to campus) used to tell me stories about my grandmother that my mom couldn't as she wasn't around for them. Like how once she cut open her foot while icing my aunt's birthday cake and refused to go to the hospital until the cake was done. Or another time when, after getting some surgery done, was given the okay by her doctor to resume her daily activities; she then proceeded to pull out a stent or something while taking down a painting (to be fair to the doc, she was an older woman at the time and he didn't realize that her daily tasks included setting up and taking down art shows). Back then I used to laugh and ask how Grandma was still alive, but looking back it hurts as she died less than a month before my college graduation in 2020 (not Covid, just a stroke, but still). As for personal stories: At 4, I got my toe stuck under the door of a McDonald's bathroom, cutting it up pretty badly. My first two teeth were lost in silly ways, first from trying to pull an apple skin out from between my teeth, and the other was knocked out when getting startled at a mini golf course and accidentally jammed the putter into my mouth. When 14, I got a giant goose egg on top of my head while standing up from a hammock/porch swing that my dad didn't fully anchor in before having me test and the support stick thing crashed onto me. A few months after, I pulled a muscle in my groin while rushing to get to PE on time. At 21 I broke my toe while carrying a chair down a flight of stairs the day before Thanksgiving, though at first we thought it was just sprained until the X-ray came back (to this day, I still can't go down stairs without a clear view of where I'm stepping), and last December, I slipped on some water and my legs flew out from under me; got carpet burn from a *wood floor*, nearly fainted (like head got really fuzzy and my hearing sounded like everything was filtered through cotton), and I swear the bruise on my shin scarred because it's still discolored nearly 9 months later.

I've had so many accidents because of my extreme clumsiness. I've fallen from tall trees, hit my back on the edge of a big trampoline, fallen on roller skates, hit my head on the bottom of a pool, you name it. Anything you can think of that can go wrong has probably happened to me. I've been to the ER more times than I can count, but still, I'd somehow managed to never break a bone once... until the age of 26 when I hit my finger with a rubber hammer. Yes, a RUBBER hammer. I'd only hit the very tip of my finger, but over the next couple of hours, the entire finger down to the knuckle swelled to twice its normal size and turned a very dark shade of purple. I went to the ER, and of course I had finally managed to break a bone. And it wasn't just a small crack either. Half my nail loosened from the finger, and I still can't bend it as much as the other fingers even though it's been 2 years since it happened. I have no idea how I managed to hurt myself thar badly with a literal rubber hammer when I've had countless accidents that were so much worse without breaking anything 😅

Ooo I have several! When walking along a sidewalk barrier I fell off and landed straddling the barrier with my one foot on the road side and the other on the sidewalk side which was higher. Broke my metatarsal on that foot, never healed right and the toe doesn't bend all the way. Then a few years later I was doing some relaxing stretches before bed and I lost my balance. That same foot slammed into a chair. X-rays showed the tip of that same freaking toe was broken. A couple years later I was out for a walk, tripped over an uneven section of sidewalk, and fell into a guardrail. The corner of one of the posts caught my leg and gashed it open. Bled a decent amount and I now have a scar. Then just last year I was out for a walk, at a leisurely pace on flat ground, and while taking a step I felt the most excruciating pain in my left knee. I tried to get to a place to lean against or sit down but the next two steps were even worse and I felt a rip. I called friends to take me to the hospital, then was sent to an orthopedist. Turns out I'd spontaneously ripped my meniscus completely off and needed emergency surgery. It seems that any time I was to exercise I end up getting hurt, and my balance is rubbish.

Sprained my ankle a week before Christmas last year when walking - I made a spontaneous decision to go down a single track road with my footpath that is pot hole central in my village, it was dark, no lights along said road, didn't turn my phone torch on quickly enough to see a pothole. Gashed my arm up too, thankfully that healed up nicely, but still having occasional issues with my ankle (I had previously sprained the same ankle a few years ago much worse and had no issues with it afterwards!). Suffice it to say I shall never so much as attempt to walk down said road again.

I went to wring them out to get the water out and put it back in for another dry cycle and the combination of the heat and the friction meant I burnt (well, scalded) myself. I now have a nice burn (skin came off a little) on my finger... For doing laundry.

Finally! I have a story to tell! So this was when I was a little kid. My parents were talking not too far away from me and I was doing whatever. Then I got an idea that I loved and needed to share with my mom right away or else I knew I would forget. But as I ran to her, I stubbed my toe on the foot of the couch and broke my pinky toe in two places on my growth plate and put it out of place. When I got hurt, the idea left me. And to this day, I still don't remember what that amazing idea was that was worth all that pain. Also, years later, my mom threw out her back or something while taking a shower and we had to call an ambulance, so that was fun.

My family used to have a shelf of knick-knacks that was mounted on the wall over our couch, and one day it fell. Our mother was on the couch, and had the absolute life scared out of her, and some minor injuries, but it didn't kill her thank god. There were soooo many glass things (mostly vases) which shattered, and my big brother and I were in our late teens, so we helped with the clean up while our father comforted our mother. Jump-cut to my brother and I, taking each individual cushion off of the couch to go at them with the hose attachment of our vacuum cleaner, while screaming "where's the money, lebowski?!" [vacuums the cushion harder] "where's the fuckin' money?!?!"

This question was made for me. 1. At 28 years old I sprained my ankle in my sleep. Never knew bedsheets were so dangerous. The thing is, I never woke up during the night. It's the next morning when I got up that I saw my swollen ankle and felt the shot of pain when I tried to stand. 2. I kicked myself, toe to the back of my heel, while trying to get comfortable to fall asleep. It hurt a good bit but didn't think anything of it until I felt warm liquid leaking. Either because my toe nail was very sharp or the skin on the back of my heel very thin but the back of my heel split in two. I ended up with a little more than an inch long, the width of two quarters and fairly deep. I'm just lucky my coloc had everything needed to patch me up and back to bed I went (after changing my sheet full of blood. 3. At work, I was reviewing the client's file: click, drag, read. Click, drag, read. Click drag "Mother fcking hell!!!" I felt something role/snapped in my shoulder/shoulder-blade. I pushed through because the file needed to be reciewed by the end of the day. Went home took some advil. The next morning, neck, shoulder, shoulder-blade, upper arm, lower arm, my wrist, I couldn't use my upped right side. I don't remember the full diagnoses but it had something to do with my C4 and C5 vertebraes squeeze my disk something similar. I now have reoccurring pain in my neck and shoulder (practically constant, if I'm honest).

Not me but my mother. She was dancing with the children she cared for (she works in a kindergarden) when she stumbled over a small child-sized chair and fell. She ended up breaking her leg in 3 places. She does not have low bone-density. The doctors checked multiple times because they couldn't believe a 40year old woman can manage to be so unlucky.

I've got 3: As a 3-4 year old, I remember being in the passenger seat of a van as my mother was shutting the door. I saw something in the storage pocket at the bottom of the door, I yell out "Wait what's that?" At the same time holding my arm out, dislocated my elbow. I was sparring for someone's belt test and stepped back to dodge a kick, and it wasn't like a huge step, a gentle one, and rolled my ankle. The amount of pain had me thinking my ankle was torn off. While counting parts in a manufacturing plant, I had to use a rolling ladder to count something on a higher shelf. Well this ladder had been hit by a forklift before, so the locking mechanism was fouled up. I slam my foot down on the bar to unlock the ladder and it didn't give, but my foot did. Strained the tendons on the right side of my foot, and at the same time activated gout that I didn't know I had. I was laid up for a month because the doc was an idiot(and I was in so much pain without even moving), finally was fed up with him and went to a clinic. They gave me a steroid shot and I was walking the next day.

New Years Day, 2018. I'm recovering from a surgery on my dominant wrist. My room was a mess; shoes and clothes everywhere. I'm jamming to the soundtrack for My Hero Academia. I'm inspired; I jump across the room. I land on a shoe and fall. I couldn't catch myself because my hand was healing, and I sprained my ankle. Here's the fun thing: I had no way to get to a doctor. I was in college. My roommates were gone, my friends were gone, and my family doesn't live in the same area. My car was dead because I wasn't going anywhere. So I just...walked on my sprained ankle for like two weeks before the campus clinic that was within walking distance opened.

17:55 makes me think of how one time the crank on my crossbow spun and hit one of my fingers and made it bleed from the force. For those that don't know, crossbows have a very large draw weight compared to regular bows, so often times an assist is needed for cocking. My crossbow is equipped with a crank assist that pulls the string from a claw that grabs onto it. I hadn't cocked it all the way and the string pulled the claw forward, making the crank spin and hit my finger while leaving a small cut.

Back in middle school I was walking to school with my friends and we were late. They started running and I called after them to wait because my shoelaces came undone. They didn't, I guess they didn't hear me and I was left behind. Instead of doing the reasonable thing and do my shoelaces, I started running after them, stumbled over my shoelaces and almost broke my nose. Bled like crazy. My friends came back a few seconds later because they noticed me missing. Found me laying on the ground. I didn't dare to get up because I always get dizzy from seeing my blood and one face injury in a day is enough. My friends helped me up and helped me walk the rest of the way (like 100m max). I went into the secretary's office after my nose stopped bleeding and waited for my mom to pick me up. Was a pretty short school day. And I also got a concussion in primary school during PE lesson by doing a somersault

I once had a super insanely messy room as a kid, before I moved in with my noona (combination of depression, autism, and multiple health disorders that all sapped my energy). I had gotten a clay set, one of the only actually good things I have gotten from my "father", but it went wrong. It came with a obscenely sharp clay knife, and I didn't realize it was very sharp, before my foot slipped on a rung of my bed (loft bed) and my foot plunged that thing right into one of my toes. I still have no clue how it didn't scar, there was so much freaking blood. But my "father" didn't think it was too bad to take me to emergency and made me bandage myself up, which was with bandaids because I was like less than 14 at the time Another time, I was playing with my husky when his tooth chomped into my foot, ironically in the same area as that knife later went through. I also consistently clip hangnails off then accidentally get my skin caught in the clippers and the blood that comes out of it is so much, holy crap man! I tore a muscle when my first bike I ever bought broke down, the first time I even rode it, had to take it home and realized the next day the tear was pretty bad, and I had bruises all over me Oh, and I once cut my palm open on a light switch. Corner of part of it was sharp and I grazed it wrong And of course, *stairs* dude. I've fallen down so many flights of stairs that I've perfected how to fall like a cat, and only get bruised

When I was 7 I dislocated my wrist rollerblading, slipped backwards and caught myself on my hands which resulted in a j shaped hairline fracture and wrist dislocation. When I was 12 I slipped jumping into a pool, hit my other wrist on the side of the pool and shattered it. When I was 14 I was getting the mail when a dog burst out of my neighbors gate and ripped my arm to shreds. When I was 16 I was walking up stairs, tripped up, and when I fell I put my hands out. Jammed my index finger straight into the stair, parallel to the ground, and shattered the first knuckle. Two weeks ago I broke my small toe on a pullout couch. I am incredibly clumsy

TW: needles In my teens, I had a bottle of superglue for nails, and the nozzle had dried shut so I couldn't get any more out. And so, I took one of my sewing needles and started trying to use it to pierce a new hole through the dried glue... with no luck. Then I thought, "I should find something that I can hammer the needle down into the nozzle with." I looked around, and found a wooden cane which was left over from an old halloween costume. On the bottom of the cane, it had a rubber stopper to grip the floor, and so I took that off, and went to hit the needle with it. I was thinking that it would be soft, and so it wouldn't just slide off to the side, or bend the needle, like a hard item would have. I went to hammer the needle down into the bottle of glue. My left hand was holding the needle in place on the bottle's nozzle top... my right hand was holding the rubber stopper. My right hand went down to hammer onto the needle. The needle's eye-end got lodged into the rubber stopper. My right hand lifted back up, taking the needle with it. My right hand went down again, before I realized that I'd accidentally picked up the needle with the stopper... ... and the needle went directly through the meat of my thumb. _All the way through._ Miraculously the needle missed my bone, and so I just removed the needle, then disinfected my thumb with some hydrogen peroxide, and wore a bandage until the holes closed. I had no complications and no scarring, but what the fuck.

Not a “simple” or “mundane” activity, but when I was seven, i was using monkey bars that were high on a climbing frame after just learning to use them without a parent holding onto my legs to keep me up. 2 times round, i fall from about 10 foot onto my back but my right arm was behind my back from the momentum of swinging. Snapped my wrist in 2 places, xray looked like a z shape in my arm. Knocked a tooth out playing football after the ball was kicked away from where we were playing. Turned round after grabbing the ball, right into a metal bar at the perfect height to completely shatter my front tooth at the top. I was 16 at the time. Fell asleep while waiting for something in my friends house while she was in hospital after just giving birth because she asked me to sit in for a parcel she was expecting that day. Got the parcel, fell asleep, woke up with intense pain in my chest. Couldnt breathe, sit, cough, or even exist without agony. Collapsed lung due to the awkward shape of the box… was 22 when that happened… on my dads birthday, where somewhat ironically, he also had to go to hospital from a heart attack, he was out of hospital 4 days before me

I once sprained my knee trying to avoid stepping on my cat. To be fair to the cat, it wasn't entirely his fault. I'd taken a fall about 6 months before and I don't think the tendons were fully healed after I hyperextended the leg when I fell. Still, the little bastid did run in front of me and I zigged when I should have zagged and my knee went pop and I spent a week hobbling around with my knee brace back on. That cat still zooms in front of me when I walk, but now if I know he's in the room, I shamble like a zombie instead of picking up my feet. My husband threw his back out picking up a piece of paper that dropped to the floor, so I think between the two of us, he wins the "injured for doing something normal" contest, though.

I good thing I wear steel toed boots. For some reason we loaded the generator last instead of almost first. As we slid it into the trailer my shirt rode up a little and I got a nice burn on my belly from the hot muffler. 3: moving some welded steel guard rails through a factory with a forklift. Done it dozens of times already and a dozen times that day alone. Was bringing the last one in when a tie down strap used to stabilize the load during the move got tangled around my hand and into the back tire of the lift. Ripped all four fingers off of my right hand. Sometimes I think of it wasn’t for bad luck I would have no luck. Lol

Well I tripped and fell down pretty much a full flight of stairs and split my chin open. Had to get stiches and you can still see the scar when I shave. Doing dishes. I pricked my finger on a dirty knife or fork. There was a red bump where it pricked my finger, but I didn't think anything of it until my mom noticed a red streak on my hand. Ended up going to the ER after work and finding out that I had tendinitis, which was better than the alternative blood infection my mom thought it could be. They also did an x-ray of my hand, and found out that I had fractured that finger at some point, also likely while washing dishes.

my stomach paralysed while walking I was in year 9 (I was 14 or 15, convert to your country's equivalent grade if you want) in a mandatory sports class. I had recently been diagnosed with a heart condition (pots) and connective tissue disorder and was using those and migraines I was getting quite frequently at that point in my life (a few a week, although they got as bad as multiple a day in the next few years) as an excuse to not do the mid length (200 or 400m) sprints my class was doing that day, so I sat on the sidelines and did some work for my other classes and played games. Near the end of class, the teacher told the class to walk the lap as a cool down, and invited me to join, so I did. At most a quarter of the way through the lap, I felt what fellt like a stitch on my left side, but higher up than they usually are. I thought little of it, thinking it would go away. It didn't. I had to go to the school nurse within a few hours because the pain was worse, and within the next few days visited the er twice. I was diagnosed with gastroparesis (partial stomach paralysis) a few months later (that is ridiculously short for a diagnosis, only because I had a family history) It was caused by the previously mentioned connective tissue disorder (h-eds), but to this day years later we don't and will never know what triggered it to start that day, so I say it was the walk. as far as gastroparesis goes, I have a pretty mild case, but chronic pain and illness tends to only get worse as you age and it started pretty early in my life. I have many other sources of chronic pain too, but that was my first one that is all the time.

Opposite : due to a variety of reasons mixing together in the worst way, my leg gave out while walking up the front porch steps while I was carrying a huge reusable bag full of multiple other grocery bags (ik this seems counterintuitive, but take it up with my mom). My front porch is STEEP, all together about 6-7 steps, made of concrete. Now, to preface this, my mom has fallen multiple times between the ages of 26-50 which she is currently, and almost every time has broken a bone. Broke her arm, her ankle, fractured her leg, dislocated her knee, you name it. She is deceptively fragile for how tall and sturdy she is. I am 30. I collapsed, rolled down the stairs, hot the car, and landed face first on the driveway. Mam and sister were SHOOK. Freaking out, asking if I'm ok, is anything broken, am I concussed??? I was totally fine. Bent my glasses and am still waiting on my replacements to arrive. Had a bruise on my temple for about a week, and I scraped my knees, but otherwise I was totally unharmed.
