@@P0chuL1ver That is indeed the Windfall Island potion shopkeeper. If you bring him 15 Green or Blue Chu Jellies, he will give you a green or blue potion, respectively.
Interesting…..it either implies Chu Chu’s were always a species living in the world of Zelda (not created by Ganondorf) or that Chu Chu’s are an invasive species in more ways than just attacking the populace, but taking over like how a rat nest.
Chuchus we’re active during the time of Demise’s resurrection, so it’s possible that they are created by the true Demon King himself, or were tempted into joining him.
Not necessarily monsters were created by ganon or demise. It is said they are revived by him, but if they were created, why not create more efficient creatures? My personal headcanon is that most monster were natural occurring until they made some pact with demons to gain immortality in trade for servitude in combat, at least the sentient ones(since many games makes it clear that some monsters are sentient, this dating back to the first game). Idk about chuchus and other creatures that looks unsentient such as keese, could either be that they are naturally vicious creatures or can easily be manipulated with demon magic, thus entering into servitude and getting unaggressive towards other allies.
@@MikaelHermesBerbertVieiraThis actually makes a lot of sense, as in ToTK, Ganondorf calls the monsters his "servants" or something like that instead of calling them his creations.
well, Moldugas were an actual native species to the Gerudo desert before Ganondorf corrupted them and transformed them into part of his monster army, so its likely either him or Demise did something like that with the chuchu species.
This is one of the reasons why I loved the Windwaker Each individual island has some sort of history to them as all these uses to be mountains And finding out lore about them is fun
I remember those sacs on the ceiling as a kid. I thought they were either centuries of built up goo from them walking on the ceiling all the time, or centuries of built up dead chuchu bodies.
@@shark_girlI think they're helpful, because then the person will learn from it and won't make the same mistake in the future. Isn't it better to get called out on your mistakes in a situation like this rather than in a situation where it could actually cause problems (like at school or work)?
I once accidentally positioned my camera in a place where I could see that blue ChuChu on that statue, before he spawned. He’s still there he’s just really, really tiny.
@@shinyy187 This guy probably thinks "big ocean to sail = open world". Thats stupid because WW still had the classic(and good) lock and key style gated progression of older zelda games.
@@shinyy187 BotW’s art style is definitely evolved directly from Wind Waker. Not sure if that’s what he means but that’s the connection that’s apparent to me.
That’s a very interesting theory; I didn’t think into this direction. It makes sense. 🤔 Thanks, Zeltik! 🙂 Now I also know that the statues flanking the egg don’t depict frogs but Chuchus or Chuchu heads. Thanks also for that! 🙂
Personal headcanon: chuchus were once very smart creatures that traveled through the stars and oneday landed on earth where they mercilessly harassed a man without arms and legs but had hands and feet and almost took over the earth until they got stupid and just exist on earth as a non-threatening menace
This is actually where the ChuPocalypse was starting, but the giant dog of light stomped on them and turned them to stone, preventing the end of the world.
I definitely missed these details my first time through the game but I always associated this place with Chuchus regardless. This is such a weirdly alien place.
I believe this is where all the chu chu variants can be found as well. Save for the yellow ones but they might not be natually occuring since they only appear in the tower of the gods.
i also heard a theory that the egg is actually of alien nature and either there is/was a really big chu chu at some point were all of the others originated from, or the chu chus evolved from the thing that came out of the egg
One of the things that I find interesting is that the caverns have the same firefly animations of the Forest Haven, and are still covered with trees and fauna that one would basically expect from a forest--leading to my crackpot theory that pawprint's cavernous system is related to the lost woods somehow.
I thought it was part of the quest and supposed to come back at some point for a temple or something, this explains why i got to the credits roll and never ever went to that island again ☠️
Rather than it being like egg sacs hanging from the ceiling I feel like the intention is probably for them to be something more like unrefined Chu jelly and that once it builds up enough to finally drop from the ceiling it forms a Chuchu.
i saw this island for the firs time in a randomized run 2 years ago and i genuinely thought it was modded in or something because somehow in like 20 years id never seen it before
Not sure if this is relevant but: This island was featured in the old zelda collection for gamecube. Before this game released there was a 20min demo with 3 places to check out. This island was one of them. Maybe these unique objects and visuals are from this demo or older builds.
I never really considered that Pawprint Isle was the birthplace of Chu Chu's, but I guess that may be due to the fact that you don't fight a giant Chu Chu Matriarch as a boss there. I knew the statues were Chu Chu's, though. And I do like exploring the cave system every time I go there.
I always liked when the 'monsters' in Zelda games were actual creatures in a virtual ecosystem. Don't really care for the 'creatures made from magic by a bigbad' angle.
