Thanks for showcasing Greg, and his regenerative methods that make for happy animals, while providing optimum health, for animals, people, soil, and planet… LONG term.
As Bismarck said, "I prefer to learn from the experience of others.". Making a comfortable living off of the land in a sustainable way is an admirable goal... but it doesn't happen without a lot of planning, thought, consideration, and EFFORT. There is a Native American quote that I think sums it up in a nutshell, "You borrow this Earth from your Grandchildren." I believe that this is the future for our agricultural industry.
Greg's teaching is really a lot of simple common sense and tons of knowledge learned by doing. I don't have a farm and I feel smarter for listening to him speak. I rarely leave a comment this long, I'm really impressed with his knowledge. 🐄 🐮
I have been following Greg for the last year after I bought cows kept by the person I bought them from. We bought acres in Feb of raw land we are working on to be a grass farm.
I’m just seven minutes into this but I have to comment: for me, going to Greg Judy’s grazing school in May was the best investment of time and money! Thanks for all the work you’ve been doing to help put out the word about Greg Judy and regenerative grazing. Now, back to enjoying the video…
I my name is Denise, my mother Rita showed me your videos. I appreciate the fact that you help your parents. My mom moved in with me 2 years ago, after my father passed away… Excited about learning… Many prayers to you and your family…
I never miss a Gregg Judy video.Just a world of knowledge and wisdom..I’m glad you two collaborate on your video. It’s cool to see your ranch improving the regenerative way…I will be full time ranching in a couple of years,so this has been beneficial
Interesting that Greg was saying exactly the same things as you for years, it’s great when different people are on the same page. There was a lot of interesting insights being shared there
Greg Judy raises his cattle like my Grandpa did 50 years ago. That's how I was taught to care for ours. And not just the cattle. The sheep, and horses too.
The Freeze-Thaw Cycle of Northern Climes work best @ DeCompressing Soils. However, in my Northern Mich property, we can Still see the Trails left after Timbering in 1970’s on Light Sandy Soils. Even after discing with a small quad 6” deep, those 2 Tracks can be seen every Spring.
Josh, I like the content of yours that I've seen. But the tidbits of Greg's school in this video are the best I've seen on your channel. Thanks so much for sharing and thanks so much to Greg for sharing. I'm not living vicariously in my YT watch history, as many are, I'm trying to learn to be sustainable on small-scale. Greg and Joel are God's gift to a hamstrung generation and I encourage all to consume as much of their material as possible.
Another great job Josh! I was there with you and we both saw that Greg is gifted with experience and wisdom. What an enjoyable time of renewal for my mind!
Josh, This was enjoyable, but it really shows the difference between farming back there and out here in the west. We have no winter pasture. We have snow fields. But, it is still interesting.
@@peterjones3226 while I can't comment on this year, in years past he has done rather well in drought as his soils hold more moisture now and can absorb every drop they get instead of running off. Plus the better soil structure let's the roots get deeper with less effort.
Hey having had done through what your now going through, I just wanting to remind you to take care of yourself bud!. I know it’s hard at times my friend but you will get through this. Just wanted to let you know that it’s fine to steep back sometimes and take a break bud. Anyway stay safe and if you need a helping hand don’t be to proud to ask bud.
We have already packed humans into that factory farm and look at us. LA NYC Chicago Philly packed into smaller areas eating crap food and we're all obese. That older generation had it right.
I found this very engrossing. I like to learn more about how he feeds those mineral supplements. Great way to enrich depleted soil, by having the animals, (cattle and smaller creatures, even microbes), work the minerals into the soil.
I've got 28 acres raw land not fenced-in. I'm in Georgia and might want to do beef Cattle how much (ballpark) do you think it will cost. I have an active creek on the property. I know it's super vague question.
Greg sure knows his stuff...soil but dont forget good ol H2O ....our country is taking it for granted...we need a pipeline network for it...(example the western drought)
That depends on where you grew up. Like Cairo in Egypt it's Kyroh in KS its cayro, not sure how they say it in Illinois. In Missouri there's a Nevada nuvayduh but the state is nuvahduh
You should not be dissing on styles of farming that happen to be different from yours- and promoting inaccurate perceptions of them. We have enough forces that are against agriculture in general, and we need to support each other. I could find fault with how you do some things, too.
Everyone should be working hard to get out of Leftist cities, and if possible buy some land. We can all see the writing on the wall and it’s our children’s future at stake here
Strange, I would have expected someone to say "get away from right-wing commercial chemical company farming". I'm not sure you know the same "gun-toting, meat-eating, permaculture/regenerative/organic eating/supporting, tree-hugging liberal lefties" that I know. I'm not sure where you are getting your information nor am I going to guess, but I see more conservative, right-wing or centrist, corporate and main-stream putting more laws on the books limiting small or medium operations while pushing the chemical company herbicide, fungicide, insecticide, fertilizers, and the bank pushing loans for metal equipment. Last I have seen with independent media and personal sources from around the globe, the chemical companies have grabbed the Vegan foods and plant-based milk and meat substitutes that began with the leftwing-permaculture-vegans, and ran with it, but no one I know still thinks the plant-based movement is still "liberal/progressive or left". The plant-based thing has become corporatist-centrist. I have a theory that there are only 2 actual factions, one is the people who are working and making a living because of work and cooperation, and the other group is the super rich or wanna-be super rich who want to get rich off other people's labor while not looking after the wellbeing of the workers or contributing back to society (most philanthropy is just a tax write off and not a real contribution to the prosperity of society). ...just my take.
@@leelindsay5618 I said “Leftist cities”, which is a statistical fact, and you start going on about vegans? Cool story bro. btw, who owns most of the corporations in the US and who do those corporations donate exclusively to? I believe it’s other Democrats. But keep telling yourself you are the ‘Resistance’
I think the bigger problem is that we are missing moderation....it's extreme this....and extreme that...when what we need is intelligent middle ground moderation and mental health in our country
Personal opinion is we already feed humans the way you described being a “crime against humanity” is already happening go watch what people buy at the grocery store.
The wisest thing that should be on every wise individual list is to invest in different stream of income that don't depend on the government to bring money especially now...•
