Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Catdog was my favorite character this year on Millennial Farmer and I'm sad to see them go. All that money going into stunt doubles means there's not enough to provide the actor who plays Catdog with anything, I get it. Just wish it didn't have to be this way sometimes.

Can't believe the writers wrote off Catdog. I hope there will a decent replacement in the upcoming seasons, however you never know what the team comes up with towards the end of each season. Sure tough to see that the Actor takes it that seriously. Let's hope for a spin-off with both of them!

Quick lesson in understanding combines: the engine is running. The combine itself, thresher and other moving components where they are are NOT RUNNING. And yes, this needs to be done to diagnose the problem. You can’t diagnose a running problem without the equipment actually running. They are being safe. Well done, Zach and Zach’s Dad!!! You guys are awesome! ❤❤❤

I understand the dealer thing. I grew up on the Iron Range, my old man owned a logging company. We always used Still chainsaws only because of the dealer, we could set them outside the shop door at 8:00 PM, make a phone call and usually could pick it up at 6:00 AM. Dealers and service mater.

Those bearings give ample indications that they're gonna fail if you do your pre-season service, take all the belts off the machine and rotate everything and put a prybar to the bearings to see how much play they got in them. We got four combines, including a 9870. I put 19 bearings in one of the S670's during pre-season service, that has 2000 separator hours on it. Easier to do them in the shop during pre-season than it is in the field when the machine has to run. I found that even the bearings in the vacuum fan for the rotary screen were nearing failure point. Plus chopper bearings, discharge beater bearings, feed accelerator bearings, front rotor bearing, all the jackshaft bearings in the screen and vacuum fan drives, elevator bearings, etc.. Them bearings aren't expensive (except for that front rotor bearing), but they're time consuming to put in. They get really expensive when you have to have the dealer come out to do it.

Dad had a '68 Deere 45 combine. Remember well bearings going out on it during harvest. Dad had a sort of "golden ear" to detect them and he'd stop frequently and put oil on them to try make it through harvest. I always wondered if these bearings were just undersized or what. I grew up on a feedlot. Using bailing wire to hold together a 60s John Deer combine with wood paddles. Trim steer Heston swather. No cabs. I feel your frustration. I love I can fast forward through it!

Zack up here in southwestern Ontario we got a lot of ip beans out right now when it's drizzling rain quite often The crushers are still green roundups and the corn is about 30 plus but we still have leaves on the trees and not too often I combined soybeans with leaves on the trees

What was the blue-ish purple-ish light as he was pulling into RDO? I have the utmost respect for mechanics, more specifically field mechanics. It’s a shit job you’re always fighting stuff and it’s either 100° or -10° and the wind is blowing all while standing in your head holding heavy parts trying to get it fixed
