No motorcycle is perfect, if the seat isn’t to your liking you can always get it modified to your liking, same goes for every other part of a motorcycle.But for the money the Tiger 660 Sport is hard to beat!

This BIKE is clean, tight, and Tidy and well built and the finish is Premium. Excellent handling, easy clutch, and extremely agile. There are No 'falling off' parts like this guys says. lol. And she has a Powerful bullet proof Triple that Triumph has used for years. I own one. Best bike I've ever had. And the stock tires are top of the line.

My wife and I had a test ride on one today. Roughly 100 miles of Lincolnshire (UK) roads, ranging from 60 and 70 mph A roads, through city streets, down to narrow country lanes with potholes, and grass growing up the middle. I'm 5'7" and my wife is a little shorter. No problem with the seat height, either solo or 2 up. Clutch is light, gear box a bit notchy (but not yet run in). Went up a hill, 2 up, at a steady 30 mph in 6th gear, so plenty of torque. Chugs around town happily in 4th, 5th or 6th. Only criticisms: the gear ratios are very close together, and it could do with a taller gear for cruising. However, the handling is excellent, the suspension copes well 2-up with rough country roads at 50 - 60 mph, and overtakes are easy. A nice light and smooth bike. Update: we ordered one the next day. Black with panniers, tail rack and heated grips. Reserved for delivery in March 2024! Our requirements: mid capacity, a bit more power than the Guzzi that we've had for a few years, decent luggage capacity, and good pillion accommodation. So few non-retro bikes have comfortable pillion seats unless you go for 1200 cc or more. My wife found the pillion seat comfortable on a 100 mile ride on which I went looking for bad road surfaces instead of trying to avoid them.

I bought the TS 660 as a singleperson bike. It is obvious that it is not really designed as a two up tourer. It is a mix of the superb Street Triple which cannot tour and the Tiger Sport 1050 which is a brilliant two up tourer. I love the TS 660, it is great in cities and can do motorways. It is a superb bike for this money

most of the reviews for the 660 Sport compare the bike with it's main rivals, Yamaha Tracer 700, Kawasaki Versys 650, BMW F750 GS and Suzuki's V Strom 650 XT. Every one of these bikes is designed and built to a budget and will have characteristics that appeal to different riders, along with individual niggles or issues that put a potential buyer off. Fundamentally, you could tour on all the above bikes, with a passenger, plus luggage, use them for your daily commute, or for some more spirited riding on the twisty roads. This is why they are good 'All rounders' and will suit many different riders, but non of them are dedicated tourers, commuters or sports bikes. You have to accept the compromise with bikes like these and that's why owners will always find certain things that aren't quite right or could be changed to better suit their own personal requirements. How many motorcycle riders do you know that buy a bike purely based on logic or rationale? A bike has to appeal to your heart as well as your head and if, after a few months of ownership, you find things about it that get on your nerves or annoy you, then if it can't be rectified easily, I suggest you trade it in for something else until you find the right bike for you. Rattley fairings can be damped very simply with some dynamat or similar....

It’s interesting where we are at with this size and class of motorcycles after almost 40 years of riding. I had a 700cc Honda Nighthawk S. (1984, blue version) It had a great seat for long two-up rides. It had a centerstand, self-adjusting valves, shaft drive, adjustable handlebar position (two ways). It had a small bikini fairing that kept the wind off you up to your neck so my helmet was in clean air. And best of all it was electric smooth because the engine was completely rubber mounted, possible because it had shaft drive. The engine tune was completely biased toward the top end, but that made it very exciting to ride. Of course it was a boat anchor compared to this Triumph, but I’m not seeing an overall improvement in value and comfort for the buyer.

Hi, I am 191 cm and 103 kg and can drive it all day long, so it must depend on your upper torso/leg ratio. As a 660, I wouldn't use this for two up and long trips, that much is true. You have better and larger machines for that, even though the short gearing takes care of the extra weight without issues. It's a nimble little machine, that I prefer to my S1000XR for smaller roads and twisties, as it has power everywhere, unlike the XR's 4 cylinder engine.
@SergeyVikultsev
@SergeyVikultsev Год назад
Agree. I found that this bike is better for shorter trips and commute work. However for short riders it can a long distance machine too.
@terenceokeeffesmotorcyclestuff
If the passenger is sliding into you or you find your forks diving too much you are not driving with your pillion in mind. If you observe the road far enough ahead and ride smoothly there should be no requirement to brake hard ever. That doesn’t mean you are riding slowly, good observation will allow you to make good progress. The exception being an emergency of course. At junctions you can stop using the front brake for the last meter or two and come smooth to a stop on the rear only.
@SergeyVikultsev
@SergeyVikultsev Год назад
That’s right! Observing and predicting the traffic and road conditions will definitely make it better experience. I am referring mostly to situations when you have unexpected situations or need to break harder than predicted.
@mikefule330
@mikefule330 Год назад
Agreed. Reading the road, looking ahead, planning, and riding smoothly means less wear and tear on the bike, the rider, and the passenger. Also, you get there in roughly the same amount of time. There is very little that is sudden or unexpected if you ride properly. When you ride aggressively, everyone else turns into an unpredictable idiot. Coincidence?

It's clutch is adjustable. When you say not adjustable uts not true. Just twist the big ring to loosen n the ineer stem to the desired clutch position. Its manual adjustment like any other cabled clutch. Unless it's hydraulic then it's like the brake lever adjustments.
@SergeyVikultsev
@SergeyVikultsev 2 года назад
Thanks Alan! I need to check this, as far as I can see, it allows you to adjust clutch free play and engagement level, not lever position itself. So when clutch disks are wearing off you can adjust to It. Maybe I am wrong, I will test it.

@alancjlim594 2 года назад
@@SergeyVikultsev Pls do try Sergey, you need to loosen the big outer stem anticlockwise (should be tight, try with a plier) then adjust the smaller inner by clockwise as well (clockwise higher clutch feel. Anticlockwise lower clutch engagement). Adjust n feel by clutching with engine running. When the clutch release engagement is at desired position. Turn the big ring clockwise to tighten to set it in position. Often used when our clutch plates gets worn. Cheers n see if it works for you.

Versus is a nice bike, but local Kawasaki dealer doesn’t have 650, and I like Triumph more for its charisma.

@SergeyVikultsev
@SergeyVikultsev Год назад
@@spirosk.8732 the bike is good, enough engine power and torque. But it is small if you are 180+, and because of that few things will come along which you wouldn’t like. Nothing bad with the bike, it is just size. If you can stretch the budget, 850 can be a solution. Or look for alternatives auch as Kawasaki or Yamaha, a bit bigger bikes.

I just took test ride yesterday, i agree with front panel being shaky ,fit and finish also not upto triumph standard, the cost cutting is evident. I felt the bars weren't wide enough for my liking. It's really good engine on budget chasis. Triumph 850sport seems ideal for entry level dudes.

@@spangoz1000 The paint and build quality looks great! But when riding the plastics rattle/vibrate all the time. Much worse than the Japanese competition. It is stable on the highway and easy to ride in the rain. It can corner and wheely like a hooligan, so no complains on the chassis there. Still I regret buying this bike.

Love my 2015 Vstrom 650cc. It is built heavy duty. Ive dropped mine several times and it just keeps running. Perfect for me. Keep in mind it is heavier than TS660, but you will grow into it. The weight difference is a big deal especially when a large semi truck passes me.

@@saz123ful I have the TS660, and I've put almost 4000 miles on it with 0 issues. Triumph offers a (CHEAP) upgraded comfort seat that is well worth the money. The things he complains about in the video are pointless, honestly. I'm taller than he is and I've had no trouble with the wind protection at all, he doesn't seem to have realized that the windscreen in adjustable. Trust me, go with the 660, you won't regret it (but get the comfort seat)

Thank you for this video! It helps me understand that I am not alone in this. I 100% regret buying this bike every day. I have all of your issues. On all of my Kawasaki and Suzuki tourers (even CFmoto) I can ride longer without pain from the seat or knees. Feels like a sportbike on touring suspension. The engine is lacking character, just like a electric bike. Very slow fly-by-wire throttle, and the TSC kicks in way to early. OEM top and side cases are way to expensive. The fuel cap opens the wrong way. Only positive for me is that it is very economical.

MORE PROPAGANDA. There is NO PAIN in the knees or seat. You have some medical condition. THE ENGINE IS a tried and true Triple and is full of character and torque and power. You guys are making complete fools of yourselves. Who paid you? Nothing wrong with the Throttle, and NO, the TSC does not 'kick in' too early. You had to make up a lot of garbage to have this bike sound like its absolutely the worse. Well, Actual TRIUMPH owners are laughing at you. So find another hobby.

Why do all the bikes these days, sit the pillion so much higher than the rider? My partner is 180cm tall & she feels uncomfortable sat so high. maybe turf the tractor engine out of the Bonneville & put the 3 cylinder engine in?
