The idea that Barnabas wrote it is an interesting one. One thing is for sure: there's no way you-know-who authored it for many reasons, not the least of which is that it's not "I... Shalom Martin, wanted to share with you something I've been meditating on for a few years now, since first testing Saul of Tarsus aka Paul, and speaking and sharing the many deceptions that are evidently found in his own writings to Christians. I've been met with more hostility, animosity, and hatred from self professing "Bible believing born again Christians" than any other men or women in my 40+ years of living. I've been called the son of Satan, and sadly possibly even had 2-3 individuals who may have crossed the line and blasphemed the Ruach Ha'Qodesh within me, which as best I can understand it overstand, constitutes the unpardonable sin that the very Pharisees and Sadducees did unto Messiah Yahushua himself. The verses are actually better in the full context of the chapter, all of chapter 16, even 15 of John are leading up to this. But they're essentially a warning as best I read them, of betrayal by "fellow believers" who think they'll be doing the will of Almighty YaHuWaH Elohiym Most High. These verses i find Mirror the warning in Matthew 7:21-23 about those who are "workers of iniquity" anomia, lawlessness, perhaps even teachers of apostasy, who are performing miracles, casting out devils and demons, and prophesying in Messiah's name, yet he has never known them. Here's the verses.... John 16:1-3 KJV - These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth Elohiym service. And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me." I've been banned from my local Baptist assembly because I confronted their "pastor " about the pagan heathen traditions of men called Christmas and Easter, as well as trying to show the people there that Messiah's teachings do not tolerate sin. He himself commands perfection just as does our father YaHuWaH Elohiym Most High in his Torah.

Very specific to YOUR point, "whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth Elohiym service" I love how you pointed this out. Atheists & secularists don't think they are doing service to the Almighty. No. It's the devout & "godly" you have to look out for. Likewise in the verses I cited above, atheists and secularists don't speak well of ANY prophets, true or false. Jesus was murdered by the most "Orthodox" religionists & "devout worshippers of HaShem" in that day. This, when even the Roman ruler was willing to let him go. When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this Just person: see ye to it. Want to face persecution? Tell your average Christian you believe in keeping Sabbath. The Benjamite has people's minds twisted in knots. @@AnHebrewChild Absolutely, so many that I've mentioned the 4th commandment: "Remember Yom Shabbat: to keep it qodesh (set apart)" often remark with non scriptural doctrines that they are not bound by the law, or the law is for the Jews, or the law is nailed to the Cross (from the liar Paul who taught apostasy). It's really hard somedays to grasp why, or how they don't seem to see the beauty in our Father's everlasting commandments ie his Torah. That his Torah is the very lamp that lights up the path of righteousness that he has placed us upon, the very words that are life giving. They are freeing not binding, they are life itself. I'm absolutely certain, YAHUWAH Elohiym Most High would not have blessed me as much as he has, and performed many miracles keeping me alive, just in the past 5 years since coming to know him, through his son Yahushua Ha'Mashiah, when I read the word for myself finally, by myself; had it not been for my desire and steps made to put YAH's Torah into place in my life, to seek out his true calendar, to our his festivals and set apart days before anything else, to do my best to adhere to his Torah and to do the works meet for repentance that Messiah Yahushua and the Torah of our Father YAH Most High teaches. Obedience is key. To me obedience is the soil that faith grows up our from, Abraham obeyed first, without questioning YAH Most High. Obedience is trust. I don't need to understand why eating swine is forbidden. My father says it isn't, and I am going to obey our of love and respect, in the fear of YAHUWAH. He knows best and didn't give any commandments that couldn't be kept fully.
Very good point Marty. So paul is not a witness that his letters…writings..are inspired. He is speaking as anyone would write a letter unless paul quotes YHWH or Jesus. Blessings Doug

Yup, contrast and compare the most humble of authors John, the revelator, who only were his name one singular time in all 5 of his work works, in the book of Revelation, to the spouter of lies, Saul of Tarsus aka Paul, who uses more personal pronouns than any other in the Bible.
Paul, our apostle, for all who have been given faith. God parts to each the measure of faith. Romans 12:3. All eventually come to the realization of the truth. Oh so many won't arrive without a lot of kicking and screaming. And tribulation. Paul ends each of his writings with the same ending. That's how we know he wrote Hebrews. God leaves it anonymous (it was also untitled) because He knew how much the Hebrews hated/hate him, yet He still wanted to convey an important message to them. Yes, because you have rejected My Son and Me, I have cast you aside and gone to other nations I did not originally choose. But don't despair, as soon as I'm gotten all of them that I need for my Annointed One's body, I will return to you for you to be My little Lambkin's bride. People want to speculate the author was Barnabas or Appollos but do we have any of their writings that come close to the profound style of Paul. Did Paul know his epistles would one day be considered Scripture? I think he knew that when Moses died the Torah didn't instantaneously come to be considered Scripture. I think Paul definitely knew he received his teachings from a revelation from the risen Christ and that only he did. He also somewhere refers to MY gospel. Oh the haters of Paul. Then and now.
Paul's gospel, that of the risen Christ, is radically different from the gospel of Jesus. This is the most correct cutting of His word. And smack dab in the middle of this division is the most important event in the history of the universe: the cross. When He sent Him to earth, He went only to the Jews. But when He went back to heaven, His Father unbound and loosed Him. And He let loose big time on Saul-Paul, explaining to the entire world what all the cross did and meant/means.
The way Peter writes about the rest of the Scriptures in 2 Peter 3:16 righr after writing of the wisdom on Paul's epistles, its almost to me loke he's saying or implying that the latter are Scriptures.
You need to research this deeper, translators hide the true words. and look into context of everything. word scripture only means writings. and Peter calls everyone in the context beloved. Beloved Paul II Pet 3:14-17 ESV Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace. 15. And count the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him. 16. as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. Well, it's obvious to me you're a Circumcisionist who is not attracted to Paul's gospel. A lover of law, hater of grace. Your worries about Paul's gospel of grace are the usual normal expected ones that Paul addresses. Many don't buy his answers and want nothing to do with his gospel. And to a certain extent that's OK. What are ya gonna do? As I've often quote, Gid parts to each the measure of faith. Which faith, how much faith, when, where, etc. As for scripture being mere writing: perhaps, but I know I would never refer to my writings as with that word. Scripture clearly says Paul received his gospel via a revelation of the risen Christ. At the least via a revelation and not via a man. Many refuse to believe that. For me that's where Romans 12:3 solves the argument: one has either been parted the faith to believe this by God or one hasn't. At least not yet. All eventually come to a realization of the truth.

Mat 24:24 and the Deu 13 test shows that anyone who preaches against the law is a false prophet. so I used to believe Paul until I realized and believed Jesus and the father that Paul is the test. Romans is the worse lairing book there is. Your putting Paul's words over Christ teaching which now contradicts Paul. I've heard this all before. I reject Paul and follow Jesus. I will never go back. On judgement day many will hear Jesus say I never taught that.
Yes, Paul didn't see and wasn't taught by Jesus. He and he only was taught by the risen Christ. God doesn't change, whatever that means (I haven't researched that yet), but neither Jesus nor the risen Christ is God. For me the trinity is pure garbage. While on earth Jesus was bound by God. To concern Himself with only the chosen. But His chosen rejected Him. Once glorified in heaven, God unwinds Him. To the unchosen He goes in search of those in other nations who will love Him. With a radically different prod to lure them. And He foreshadow the prod of grace by choosing His worst enemy to herald this new message. Many of His chosen will reject Him even more, esply His chosen heralder, the one to which He entrusted this other gospel. What are ya gonna do?
