What secrets are Warrior Cats writers hiding? 

Dawn of The Clans is by far the most well written series and nobody can convince me otherwise

My light in the mist tinfoil hat thing is moreso thinking Graystripe's or Bristlefrost's death was supposed to be Squirrelflight's. Like, sure, they could have been leading up to bramblestar and squirrelflight kill ashfur, but I think it was moreso going to be "squirrelflight sacrifices herself for bramblestar" in the end, which would have been bad for several reasons, including taking spotlight away from the current arc's cats.

I'd say Bristlefrost dying was a much better ending than her living. It is a solid sacrifice out of true love to stop someone with corrupted and twisted love from returning. If she had lived, it would have been yet another romance.

I kinda thought Moth Flight's Vision was good, but I think that was because they made her a likable character.

Rootspring seriously deserves a happy ending

I actually really liked the second half of Vision of Shadows. The plot was never just about Darktail. The original prophecy also involved Skyclan coming to the lake, and them trying to fit in was the last three books. Any more time devoted to the rogues would have ultimately just been drawn out, even though Thunder and Shadow time jumped so much that it might as well have been a super edition. There isn't much more story to be told there, and honestly it was nice to see the clans dealing with internal politics instead of the "random cat who wants to destroy them all" of the week.

I really wish, if that DoTC 2 rumor were true, we could've gotten that. I really wanted to see how we went from the names like Gray Wing to Jaykit, Jaypaw, Jayfeather. How did they decide on that change? Was it because kits were pretending to be apprentice age, and apprentices with warrior names had tried to fool other clans? Was it because old cats from the tribe told stories of Sharpclaws (the tunnel trials back with the ancients, Fallen Leaves.) And the apprentices wanted to earn their names like how a sharp sharpclaw would earn their title? I dunno, I just want to see more from the DoTC timeline. The fact that not a lot of people gave that arc a chance, myself included at first until I went back and read the first three books again and realized how much I adored the book, just makes me think they pulled the plug on DoTC a bit too soon.

Would it really be a bad idea for these scrapped ideas to be implemented into the books, some of them were probably interesting. Erin's should never completely scrapp anything, instead figure out a way to make it into the story

Going to say Onestar's Confession was the most "rushed" Can't say I hate the end of The Broken Code, thought it was perfect(other than ashfur dying a villan, really thought he'd redeem himself). Bristlefloof dying was genius because nobody saw it coming.

I've really gotta read DotC. I admittedly skipped it and went straight to AVoS. Also, I am so happy with how they decided to kill off Ashfur and that Squirrelflight wasn't the one who did the final confrontation. Ashfur didn't deserve seeing her again, and I doubt she would get closure from confronting him again - he obviously wasn't going to learn, and would have just continued trying to own Squirrelflight.

I loved dotc, its my favorite series. I hope one day they do make a sequel to it instead of super editions or novellas, make it take place after the 4 books

My theory is ivypool's super edition was going to set up for her being deputy or being a deputy book. And we chose riverstar because we didn't know. All the super edition options were going to tie into the starless clan arc. Mistystar's would be about her dying. And since we don't have a poll yet for 2024 and it's already may... I'm saying ivy gets it. Since if we knew their plan we'd choose her without even looking at the other chooses it wouldn't be fair so the decided to give the other two a chance. And now that we're getting a squirrelstar and obviously an ivypool as deputy they're giving us the super edition. Now just gonna brainstorm for 2025.

Also there is technically a big lost era between Dawn of the Clans to the events of the Original Series. I do feel that the Dawn of the Clans is going through that phase that the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy had went through.

Reading dawn of the clans is what made me stop reading warriors, not because it was bad, because it was good, or at least I enjoyed it more then I had any other book I had read from warriors. (for context! I read it later on, so I had read all the way up to squirrelflights hope, which was already making me think the books were not worth it anymore) When I read those books it was so fun because it was all these new characters without any of the old drama, and when things like border crossings, or loners minding their own business, it was seen as bad to act like the current characters act all the time. It felt good, like a new story and I thought "ok maybe its time to not read these anymore, I can even stand the plot of the story anymore" So the last warrior books I remember enjoying was dawn of the clans.

If your theories on Bristlefrost are right, I think it’d be a positive thing for the series because that means the writers are actually more aware of their fans than they were before. I don’t want them to always pander to us and do things that we like, mixing it up is awesome and I think bristlefrosts death was a good example of it, but I’m hopeful at that prospect nonetheless and hope it makes A Starless Clan one of the best arcs in the series

Graystripe's death was one step closer to the end of an era. Makes me wonder how much time the remaining few Arc 1 cats have left.

Wild to me that DOTC sold badly. It’s always been my favourite arc, and even though the pacing was off, the concept of seeing the clans form was way too interesting for me to care

A joke theory I had for a moment was that writing the books is them herding cats and still can't get get them to do what they want when they make them up.

i feel like dawn of the clans should be continued, or at least have more super editions/novellas for pretty much the same reasons you stated because so many people like reading, but aren’t super dedicated to like 60+ books so just read dawn of the clans instead, and you don’t really need to read the others that much, and also, it could easily axe and more or something if more people want to have more of the series

Personally dawn of the clans was good except for the fourth book, but it doesn’t really need a second arc. I would like more novellas and super editions but it doesn’t need a second arc.

I think Dawn of the Clans would have benefited from being two arcs, not having a sequel. The first three books are some of the best Warriors have to offer, and the story and cast stay concise. However they seemed to have realized (potentially due to the poor sales) that they need to cram the actual formation of the clans into the last 3 books, and hastily added a bunch of cats (Slash's group) to fill out 5 clans, and you get lost in the torrent of new characters after getting to know the cast from The Sun Trail so well over the first half of the arc. The only thing of the current Clans that's established in Dawn of the Clans is the names of the clans, for god's sake, and it's the last thing that happens in the arc before it ends. Dawn of the Clans definitely needed more books to tell the story it was trying to tell in its own arc, not a sequel arc imo.

With dawn of the clan, it felt like many thing were missing, and it should have been continued, the super editions did clear a few things up but, in my opinion I would have loved to see Dawn of the clans continued.

I found out the publishing company dictates the story to the editor team and I think that makes a lot of sense in some regards to what freedom the creative team has in development and plots. I liked Leopardstar’s Honour and Mothflight’s Vision though😹

I personally have read most of the Bravelands books, and I can confirm that the second arc seemed short. I had read #1 and #2 of the second arc, and already, if it were warriors, felt like it could've been the fifth book. I also agree that I did not enjoy the second arc as much as the first.

Sad about DotC if true. I'll admit to being part of the problem - I jumped ship after The Last Hope because I was fed up with the pacing of TPoT and OotS and felt everything involving the Dark Forest cats grouping up and fighting real-world cats was not only a massive retcon, but completely jumping the shark. Especially the Great Battle. So as soon as I saw it good ending point, I stopped getting the books. After several years and I believe while AVoS was halfway through, I started reading from where I had left off through the library, as I had discovered my library's e-book collection. DotC was the Warriors I had originally fallen in love with, and at least through book three I was hooked. While the rest was a little unfocused, I still enjoyed it far more than the previous two arcs. The arcs we've had since are fine, more because I'm not buying them anymore and am just along for the ride, so even that supernatural stuff I hated returning in TBC made less of a negative impression. But it's really sad that DotC is just one arc if it could have been more.

Brambestar couldn't fight Ashfur because he had a good reason since he had been a ghost for most of the arc than was badly abused mentally by Ashfur and how would've the others leader thought if Bramblestar didnt show that he was the real cat. Plus Bramblestar could have disappeared permanently leaving Thunderclan with no hope of StarClan reconnecting. Squirrelflight should have gone through so her trauma with the fire would be resolved.

Love this so much! And I agree. I hated Mothflights book so much and I'm happy that lots of people are calling it out.

I honestly really enjoyed the Dawn of The Clans arc, I was bummed that they didn't continue it. Out of all of the super editions books I really disliked Leopardstar's. It made me really dislike her as a character. In the Broken Code I was so sad when Bristlefrost died, I enjoyed her character but it was a great twist ending! I'd love to see them throw twists like that into future series!

I haven't read a few of those books you spoke of, but read the others. Wow. The whole thing with screwing up big time with that one book there (short term memory issues, so I can't remember the name already). That's worst than my 40 sum chapter Originals (based from tv show) fanfic where I made an error. Had to correct the problem that I started Kat (from Vampire Diaries) off with being human and then forgot she was supposed to be human, because she suddenly was a vampire. Lol. Had to fix a few chapters of that. Lol. I think that's the worst error that I've ever read or heard of from Warriors. I'm behind, as I haven't gone to the library since probably fall last year. Been busy with selling and packaging yard signs for shipment and then my sister had me helping her cull photos (flag them, etc). Can't wait for next month when I can breathe. I guess I can't be disappointed with Warriors though, as it's more than one writer of the series. And if there's not good communication or they're not reading each other's finished drafts or books, then it would screw things up.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but the Erins should have let Squilf and Bramble fight Ashfur. Bramble dying being a side-effect and getting Squirrelstar would have been a great ending for Bramble and maybe sop up some sympathy for the guy. Later writers just didn't know how to write him to be likable starting with Po3, and it sucks that he's just gonna rot at the end of this arc. Also we'd definitely have a Squilfstar at this point :)

Another Akira video, more Squirrelflight simping. Not to sound like an internet troll here, but, is there any agreement at all that maybe, just maybe, Bramblestar and Squirrelflight both are imperfect characters who are prone to gaslight the other one in their 5.5 arcs of relationship? I mean seriously, Bramble got very needlessly butt-hurt with Squirrel during New Prophecy and Squirrel's super edition, but Squirrelflight also went straight to hating him without stating a reason in N.P. and gave him the diva move of "it's your family member or me" with Hawkfrost, rather than taking the logical route of actually TELLING HIM what was wrong with him being around Hawkfrost. Bramblestar was a bit stupid, I'll grant, but everyone from Leafpool to Sandstorm to Ashfur in book 5 of N.P. was pointing out to Squirrel how she wasn't being fair to Bramblestar by using her connection with her sister as an adequate source of information to condemn Hawkfrost, without considering how Bramblestar might feel about her begrudging him for sympathizing with HIS BROTHER. Not to mention, the only reason he was pissy with her in Omen of The Stars was that she literally LIED to him about raising her sister's kids! As we see in Bramblestar's Storm, Bramblestar still would've loved them as his own by virtue of raising them anyways, she didn't need to lie. And while yes, Ashfur definitely didn't deserve Squirrel's affection or anyone's for that matter, saying that Bramblestar is exactly as bad is needlessly going off into the other ditch rather than staying on the road. Bramble was mad because his trust was breached, which anyone would be mad about, I mean hell, Squirrel was mad when Bramble breached her trust in New Prophecy, so why should Bramble not be allowed that? I apologize for this slight rant, but it just really bugs me that the fandom has a double standard of nit-picking either Bramblestar or Squirrelflight, but never Bramblestar AND Squirrelflight. Both had good moments, and both had bad ones. Neither of them were saints and neither were devils (Ashfur was the only devil in their lives). You don't have to heed my opinion on this matter, but really, would it kill anyone to be a bit more objective?
