@ 10:00 its best ive found to use IRST mode in soviet jets for gunsight data, as their locks are generally much more stable and not affected by ground clutter or the notch. main drawback is it may be hard to acquire lock when they're preflaring
I feel like the red team mains are much more skilled in sim compared to blue team just due to always having been the underdog (and less "wallet warriors"). I find myself doing better pretty consistently on the red team despite having either a bad flight model or bad avionics
Radar aam work better against multypathing from a higher angle because it doesn't get es much confused by the ground. From above the Radar receiver on the missle gets a better Radar signal and gets so closer to the target. There is even more to it but I don't have the English skills to discribe it better.
10:42 The reason multipath is less effective when firing at high angles is because what multipath does, is it 'drags down' your radar tracking right below the target into the ground. You can see this quite visibly in your hud when it happens because the radar lock indicator dips into the ground/ocean instead of being on the jet and its even more visible if you switch on RB difficulty. So technically if you were to fire a radar missile from 90° above the target, the enemy jet will be right between you and the erroneous target indication, meaning in the path of your missile. It's still pretty inconsistent but it does make a difference as you've noticed, the higher the angle the less wiggle room the enemy jet will have.
Nimbal ngl I wouldn't say it's just an issue of people seeing Mig29 on rwr, I've seen so many F-16C's just eyeball a target and think it's enemy -- not even Red jets either, like just easily recognizable silhouettes like Harriers and F-15's and just gun it for them, radar missiles and all
@@pko6596 you don't think so, but Gaijin think so, you could look at the Missile Stats Spreadsheet, it's the worst performing IRCCM Missile in the game, with the IFOV still larger than 1.0, which is higher than R73 (0.75 FOV).
Bro how do you zoom out so far in the cockpit. I can never find the setting for it. Know how to zoom in, but idk how to zoom out further from the “stock” camera placement in cockpit
I flew the 29G yesterday i havent touched the mig 29's at all in a few patches and man the low speed AOA is atrocious. The F16C was pulling more AOA than me at 300 KPH in a rolling scissor. Anywaysa great vid.
