I kinda like it faster. Nice sense of tension I guess?? It’s nice how they slow down at points and speed up again. Almost like stormy waters. Idk I like it.
Actually, if you look it up, this one seems to originate in the north American coastal trade, before moving into the general cross atlantic trade routes. In reality though, these shanties (19th century work songs) were pretty international. They were sung by all sorts of crews (mostly English lanuage), mixed, US, British, English, Irish, Canadian, Scottish etc. The major pushes for recording these songs came in their latter days (1870's onwards) and these folk song collectors were generally English or American.
Abiezer Coppe My mistake.....I thought it was a British one. Yeah, I know what you're saying. These songs originated in one pace and quickly spread through the British Empire and USA.
To Be Honest From My Deepest Heart, This Is My First Time Listening To Choir. I Just Found This Song From Idubbbz's Videos ( Legit Food Review ) And I Already Fell In Love With Choir.
+Melanie Voisine Yes you are. I'm listening to this at 1.5x speed. I think it's worth noting that I just drank half coffee pot on 1 go. The part at 1:51 is especially soothing. Allow me to elaborate: HITBYLIGHTHITBYLIGHTNINGHITBYLIGHTNINGBOLT IN HITBYLIGHTNINGBOLT IN EARLY IN THE MORNING
this is wonderful recitation, but... damn, man. this is a toiling man's shanty. how can you let these men have passion with their presentation while they stand in front of you like stones?
I'll take a double triple bossy deluxe, on a raft, four-by-four animal-style, extra shingles with a shimmy and a squeeze, light axle grease, make it cry, burn it, and let it swim.
