In a democracy, whoever sells out to the most businesses and donors wins. Only with authoritarian regimes can the state crush any business that gets in the way of the state's ideology and maintain order and prosperity. Look at China if you want to see how a country should be run.

@@user-fb8ee7ec8e There is a problem. The solution is to use or create alternatives to the private organizations that create the private sector side of the problem. The other part of the solution is to stop voting for the people in government who created the government side of the problem. It doesn't matter if I know how to create a given business or not. Plenty of people who have created successful businesses didn't know how to do so until they decided to go for it. Google manipulating elections, or RU-vid manipulating who sees what, or Facebook censoring content is not going to be solved tomorrow. There are simple things that can be done to remove power from these companies. They are only as ubiquitous as we allow them to be. It may take effort to stop using these services (I've cut out most of my usage, and I am working on the rest), but if the companies are so problematic, maybe it's worth putting in the work.

Participating in democratic process that enforces your will upon other people in the population.

Google can influence elections? That’s doesn’t matter to us. We don’t vote and imagine laws don’t impact us. So it doesn’t matter if twitter bans all libertarians we will win in the marketplace of ideas that we cannot join because the tech giants shut us out. But we should totally continue to be pro tech giant.
