If someone calls the cops on you, you should probably leave. If you're not there when the cops get there, the police cannot identify you, and they cannot question you. Scenario: making a delivery, an elderly neighbor doesnt like how i parked. He threatens to kick my ass and runs towards me, an inch from my face yelling and posturing. I explained that continuing this behavior would be a bad idea. He backs off but he dials 911 and gives my cars plate and my description, tells the police i assaulted him! I left, but what would have happened if i stayed? In my mind, Id simply explain...this guys nuts and the cops would yell at him. But i feel like it wouldn't have gone so smoothly for me. I think i would have been railroaded. Also, what if this vindictive lunatic files a bogus report? Thoughts?

There’s no telling what will happen if the cops come out. If he says you assaulted him and they believe him, you could get arrested. If they believe you they may charge him with something. I’m glad they didn’t believe him.

In a child custody case currently... The father in my child and his mother keeps calling the police doing wellness checks if they don't get him when they want him. Went out of state to visit my family and he called the police on me and they came to my family's house out of state to do a wellness check. We were never married and I have a physical custody right now until we go to court. Can I get a restraining order for harassment since they keep calling the police for no reason just to be inconvenient or harass me?

Harassment is a crime in Texas. You can call the police. They may help you with a protective order.

I would try to cooperate with the officer(s) and explain my side of what ever took place. Ultimately I would do what law enforcement asked me to do until everything gets ironed out. I thinks it’s better not to fight or cause a scene.

Lol yea go test that theory in any situation involving the slightest bit of emotion. I’m just saying. I used to be like that until I told the truth to a cop. I wasn’t believed and was investigated for some crazy allegations. Don’t let police uniform fool you. Anything involving the cops has 4 sides to the story. Both parties, the police & the truth.
