QUESTION:
“Also do you thing after dupixent if you stop it does the symptoms come back worse. Do you become dependant on it also im sorry if im bothering you alot im 17... 3 months from turning 18 ive had eczema for my whole life it painful mentaly emotionaly and physically. It affects my life so much i hate my skin im ashamed of it i literally had 1 friend and recently we have gone separate ways and im feeling really crappy it seems like i cant live my life i feel so sad because my youth just ran past me.”
MY REPLY
“Eczema is a cruel disease. No way around it. People will become more understanding as they get older. When you and your friends become adults. Your eczema has made you stronger and more mature than other people your age, and you'll just have to wait until they catch up. There are very tough challenges throughout everyone's life. Most people don't experience hardship when they're young like us, but when things get hard for them in the future, you can be there for them. You'll be able to handle tough times much better, even thrive in it because you're so used to it. The world will need people like you. All superheroes and superstars are lonely. No one else is like them. People can't relate. But it's because you have an unique life, so you can be an unique value to the world.”

“I know it’s not easy. Wasn’t trying to make it sound like it is. Everyone will have “real world” stuff to deal with as they get older and won’t have time to worry about you or anyone else. Stuff in school just won’t seem that important anymore. You’ve just had to deal with real world stuff a bit sooner. Focus on taking care of your health, avoiding triggers, and trying to improve. Everything else is secondary.”
