Taiwan was Japan’s first colonial possession which it governed for a half century, it’s not going to idly stand by while it’s overrun by communists. By the same justification of “ethnic ____” that others use to invade I’m sure there are still some at least partly ethnic Japanese living in Taiwan…

@@ssss8162 Japan owns Taiwan at that time by the rights of conquest which is how the superpower deals with the territory dispute at that time. There's no international law nor the People's Republic of China (Communist China) constitution or law to dictate legality. There's only the one and only Republic of China (Now Taiwan), which now rightfully owns Taiwan as its last stronghold. Therefore Taiwan is at its right owner. Taiwan was also returned to the rightfull owner, the ROC(Republic of China [Taiwan]), after the defeat of the Japanese by the Americans which is allied with the ROC(Taiwan).
@@ssss8162 You don’t know nothing about history. Taiwan became Japan after winning the sino-japanese war and china agreed with this condition! Illegal is the chinese occupation of Tibet, Uyghur, Inner Mongolia, etc.
PRC never set foot on Taiwan. This is PROOF that ROC in Taiwan has always been separate and independent from the PRC. Mao failed twice to invade Taiwan. Our victories in Kinmen already solidified Taiwan’s separation & independence from the PRC.
The Security of TAIWAN is also in the interest of Security of JAPAN, SOUTH KOREA, PHILLIPINES, INDONESIA, VIETNAM,Island Territories of USA & Australia too
I'm happy to see a resurgent Japan and them taking the Japanese military serious again. And I'm talking this as an American. Despite the fact that we have the most powerful military in the world and the most powerful friends and allies, US has comitments in other parts of the world and can't deploy all our forces in the Pacific region. Compared to the forces we have in the Pacific, China is a much more powerful. Again, China can deploy all their forces in the South China Sea. That's why it's incredibly important that we have serious allies in the region who themselves have a massive military potential.. Japan's military is growing, and with the potential to triple in size and power if needed. Australia is rearming (buying our and British nuclear powered submarines is one of the evidence in that favor)... When we add the fact that our European friends have started to take Pacific seriously and are sending their ships in the region, I am confident that if the shooting war erupts, we will have the power to overwhelm China are bring them back to around 1980s level of GDP and military might.
When Russia attacked Ukraine, the West believed that Ukraine will fall and Russian tanks and troops would have rolled into Kiev within few days. But for more than 2 years now, Ukrainian made everyone surprised. When the West expected Taiwan to put up fight with Red Chinese troops but to see gun is silenced on the fronts on the days of invasion. The West would be shocked and surprised, too. Ukraine versus Taiwan in real war.
@@markcepeda8144 not the case with Taiwan, The Chinese will eventually gonna capture Taiwan and Backstabber USA will run away just like how they flee away frm Afghanistan.
@@KnowledgeEnthusiastNope. Microchips are in Taiwan. This is the first REASON why US placed its Microchips development in Taiwan over any other country. So that when time comes china would do something stooopid US will have to protect their investment. Same as that the largest military base outside the US is at SOKOR. Same as PH Subic Naval Base and Clark airbase. And...of course..Japan is an American ally.
@@breakwhiskey2863 TSMC (chip fab company) isn't an agency of the US gov or funded by it. It's a private company that successfully specialized in mass producing chips for all the chip architect firms such as AMD and Nvidia. The fact that the world became dependent on TSMC is more of a testament to the companies outstanding work in their field rather than any government planning. And honestly, you're giving the US government too much credit to think that they can plan that far ahead. Our leaders can't even plan a dinner meal.
Your post comes from nowhere. Or you post come from what you like? Taiwan was part of China before the western colonizer invaded Asia and Africa. And other countries originally it was china Taiwan then Spanish then holland then Japan then return to China after Japan surrendered. ( When ww2 ended . World territories boundary ownership was based on pre ww2) by united nations
Japan would never miss an opportunity to take Taiwan back under its own control, and 'defending' it from China opens up a large opportunity to do so. Don't forget that they controlled it in the not too distant past.
Japan today isn't Imperial Japan from a century ago. They have no interest in imperial expansion. They don't even have the population to colonize new territories. They have the lowest birth rate in the world. There are more old people living in Japan than kids by a large margin. Japan is just doing what needs to be done so their neighbors won't step on their lawn.

China is waiting for that day to come, welcoming Japan's interference in its internal affairs. Who are the culprits behind Taiwan's sovereignty? Japan, a United Nations member state, knows that the United Nations has said Taiwan is a Province of China; on what basis can Japan say Taiwan is a country?

@@keithchao9101 Great, so go look at China's one country two system policy, and remember it can be one country one system policy as well. And a fun fact: if you holding a Taiwan passport instead of Chinese passport, there is no way you can enter UN's building.
