The Holy Mass is the most beautiful and greatest worship that Catholics can offer to God. Christ founded the Catholic Church in 33 AD. Sinulog has deep roots in history and faith. In 1521, the Portuguese navigator Ferdinand Magellan landed on Cebu to erect a cross on its shores. He introduced Christianity and presented the Miraculous Image of Santo Niño as a gift to Hara Humamay (Juan), the wife of Raja Humabon. Contrary to the misconceptions of many people outside or visitors, Sinulog Festival IS NOT A RELIGIOUS FESTIVAL and it's not organized by the church. Sinulog Festival is a secular event during the Fiesta Senyor and it is organized by an NGO (Sinulog Foundation, Inc) with the support of the local government of Cebu City. The events that the church organize during the Fiesta Senyor, the religious festivity, are the solemn processions (for the Holy Child Jesus and Mother Mary), novena prayers (9 days of hourly mass in Basilica Minore del Sto. Nino), fluvial procession, etc. The name of the religious festivity is called Fiesta Senyor while the name of the secular and cultural activity is Sinulog. The two are organized separately and independently.

I stumbled upon your video, i am actually here in cebu city visiting from america, i was born here but left when i was 5 and just finally came back after 40 years, we were gonna go to the sinulog but roads were closed and would have a long walk and my family decided not to go but did something else but thank you for the video since i missed it
