This is a great video. I'm a petite 5'1" woman who got married this fall, and this video is spot on. Petite isn't a body type; it's a height. We petites come in all shapes and sizes, and we have different body issues, different preferences, etc. I appreciate you bringing up factors like torso length, pedestal vs heels when you try on, alterations considerations, etc. All such good quality info. I ended up in a gorgeous a-line lace gown that was super flattering on me. Thanks for the tip!
This video is just what I needed, Nayri! I’m petite (5’0) but have a pear shaped body (sz8) and I’ve been hesitant to go dress shopping because I’m anxious that most dresses won’t look good on my figure! Thanks for reassuring us petite ladies that we can wear anything we want ultimately. Thank you for creating content like this, you are truly a bride’s fashionable fairy godmother!!! ❤️
Hi Andrea!! Thank you SO much for your kind words!!! I'm so honored and happy to help! Good luck on your dress search!!! Let me know if anything comes up and if I can offer you additional support! :)
As another member of the petite pear club, I urge you, don't stress! You'll find that, once you start shopping, there are so many beautiful wedding dresses out there that are flattering to our shapes. Hang in there, you'll find the dress of your dreams.
wooohooo I'm early! I love you because I have a bridal store and sometimes I still like to learn from you because you help me help my brides and give them the best I have to offer while assisting them!
Thank you so much for this video! I am a very petite bride 4ft 11 inch and wear a size 2 haha. Your kind words, smile, and information sure brighten my day! I also have a question, if I wear wedding-inspired platform sneakers would that allow me to have more options for wedding dresses? But anyway I can't wait to go wedding dress shopping and all the information you have provided eases my anxiety! Keep up with the youtube and tick-tok videos! You're amazing!!!

I'm newly engaged. As I to am a petite woman I'm 4"11. I was worried about dress shopping bc it very hard to find the right dress. I'm so use to wearing T length dresses bc everything is super long on me.
Congratulations on your engagement and upcoming wedding! I encourage you to be excited to explore new concepts and ideas. You never know what you'll find. It could pleasantly surprise you. Please let me know how it goes and if you have any questions!
This is a great topic!! Could you do a video for very tall brides one day? I am tall, and worry that dresses will be too short or that the proportions will not be right to suit my body. Thanks for all of the content and information!!!
Hi Leah! For tall brides, designers offer extra length. When you order your dress, you can add length to it - just be sure to consider your heel height if you plan to wear heels. I recommend finding a dress you love as is for your proportions and just adding length. I would not suggest ordering your dress with custom changes to include extending bodices, etc. To ensure success and ensure you'll love your dress, keep everything you see as is and just add as many inches as you need to the length. Hope this helps! Let me know if you need anything else!
I'm 5'3 1/2". I have about an inch between the top of my hip and the bottom of my ribcage. My bust, waist, and hip measurements are within two inches of each other. How would a bridal store handle someone like me?
You would be in great hands, and it's all about trying on different shapes and silhouettes to identify the shape you like on your body best. Once you identify the shape of dress you like at that point, you can figure out the fabric/materials/design you'd like that has the shape/silhouette you like. Hope this helps!! :)
I'm a petite 5'2" and a dress size 4. This lady's advice is not very helpful. In a large full skirt-like ballgown, a petite frame can be overwhelmed by it. It gives the illusion that the dress is wearing you.
It all depends on the design of the particular dress. Not all ballgowns are created equal meaning some can be more flattering than others, so I'd hate to tell anyone, no matter their dimensions, that a certain shape dress is going to look better on them than others. I recommend going in-store and trying dresses on and seeing what you feel beautiful in while you wear them and taking photos so you can look at the photo while you are in the dress to see how you feel and how it photographs at the same time. Hope this helped! Let me know if you have any other questions.
Hi Nayri, Would it be possible to send you an email or message about a one on one consultation, if you do something like that? I'm on my 3rd bought gown now... 😂🙈😣
Hi Vienna! Thank you for your comment! I, unfortunately, do not offer virtual consultations. If you're in Los Angeles, we'd love to help you at Lovella Bridal. Let me know if there is any other way I can offer you support.
