Started watching your vids this evening and the story of your journey has been somewhat harrowing but calming. You're a trooper. I am surprised it was ok to shower tho'.

Hi Jenela Well I just had my surgery Thursday and today is Saturday everything went well and I got and a bag 🎒 too the Dr said I have to have it for at least 6 months. But your videos prepared me for all of this thank you again... Juan from Detroit Michigan.
My LAR is Tuesday. I am rewatching all of your surgery and recovery videos. Thanks again for telling your story. You have been a big blessing to me as I go through the cancer battle!
@@SurvivorJelena my father is having surgery next week - he is 76 and diabetic - I needed to see your video - is very helpful everything that you do - thank you so much once again - your work is valuable- I wish you all the best ♥️♥️♥️♥️
I love the way you explain everything it is perfect I really do thank you for all your information they should clean. You can go to around all these hospitals and give classes.
Thank-you for story I really appreciate you posting it bc it gas helped me understand my husband more and what he went though 😅 and has brought tears to my eyes how he suffered... Thank-you so much again
Good God... I'll be having this same exact surgery soon (with 2nd surgery for reconnection after healing period) and I'm more scared than ever. I can see now why some people decline the surgery (even tho the doctors say it is lifesaving). I insisted on having all my treatments up front (chemoradiation, then Folfox chemo) hoping that it would eliminate the cancer and surgery would be unnecessary. Just found out today that my biopsies are still coming back malignant and they want to do surgery asap. I don't know how I will survive this, both physically and financially 😢 But thanks so much for sharing about it all. I'm super happy for you that you are recovered, strong, and healthy.
I've just been watching your channel out of curiosity after the sad news of Chadwick Boseman - thankfully I don't need or know anyone who has to go through this, but I feel so much more enlightened by watching your videos of your experiences. I'm glad you're doing much better, and thanks for the taking the time to shine awareness on such a topic.
Chadwick Boseman’s diagnosis was so unfortunate, and he has so much respect from me for being able to continue to make movies throughout treatments and surgeries without anyone knowing what he was going through. My hope is that even more people like yourself will learn about colorectal cancer, it’s symptoms, and that more and more young people are getting it, and hopefully this will save many lives 💙
i had shoulder pain, Dr told me that i was tilted on the Operation table and was resting on the shoulder , so they can work on the lifted abdomen, for anastomis
Pretty sure I have Colon cancer. Have way to many of the symptoms. I start all my appointments starting on Dec 15th. Can't wait to get to the bottom of this. I need treatment asap
Jelena I had stage two rectum cancer went through chemo and radiation, surgery now I'm in recovery I'm having diarrhea after surgery since November 11 still having loose stools is that normal is that normal.
Wow, I never knew that an ostomy originates from the small intestine. Does that mean that you get less nutrition from the food you eat? My mother had one of those about 30 years ago after her surgery which was probably similar to yours.
An ileostomy is from the small intestine and a colostomy is from the large intestine. Yes, you do get less nutrition from the foods you eat and you can dehydrate more easily with an ileostomy.
I’m so glad that my video helped decrease your nervousness about going in for surgery. This is exactly why I wanted to make these videos! Hoping your surgery goes smoothly and complication-free 🤞🏼💙
It depends. Generally, it grows slowly which is why once you hit the screening age you only need a colonoscopy every 10 years. But as more younger people are being diagnosed with cancer it is behaving a little differently and growing faster.
Thanks for replying back I have some of the symptoms I have been constipated now for 3 weeks my bowel habits has change in the very beginning when it started a whole bunch of mucus came out with this two little spots of blood came outwas at the ER they've done a CT scan and said if they would have to diagnose me they said they're they don't see anything there is no stage
