Safety inspection of our yacht for an Atlantic crossing, aimed at those planning an Ocean Crossing. The ARC + safety team undertake a visual safety inspection of you boat before you even set off. We had just completed all the onshore work on a removal and rebidding of our keel, and re-rigging our mast, so not an ideal time to take the inspection , but we think we ace'd it . The blog shows the full inspection which takes an hour , and also included additional elements showing the contents of our grab bag . Full disclosure, we were on the ARC + 23 and the inspection is done by World Crusing club who organise the ARC, ARC+and many other long distance sailing rallies. They provide a comprehensive list of safety features you should have and lists of grab bag contents etc
