If you're too nervous to get into tanking, plz realise that tanking is just being a dps that is invincible. You can literally solo most content. Your team is just there to speed up the clear time. Plus if your group wipes, it feels good to 1v1 dungeon and raid bosses and your group will think you're really good at the game.
@@MediiiiccAbsolutely. Tanks self sustain desperately need to be reeled in. I thought I was being helpful to my healers when I was off healing with a prot paladin. After getting back into healing this xpac (havent healed since BFA), turns out I was literally just stealing their entire role and making it unfun for them. But yeah tanking is the most op and easiest role by far. I understand the social pressure aspect, but currently mechanically speaking you are a raid boss and your party are your adds.
What helped me learn how to play tank the most was just hopping into Follower Dungeons and just getting comfy with the routes and pulls. I think the emphasis on solo content in TWW will help a lot of new players get over the anxiety of tanking.
The problem I usually have with tanking is not how easy or hard a tank spec is but the frustration of learning routes, downloading WA's and Plater profiles, learning all abiliites from adds and bosses and getting yelled at when you don't do everything perfect. I wish the game would deal with these issues rather than how tanky a spec is. There is just so much information you need to know before even start playing as a tank. And that pushes people away in the end.
Learning adds and bosses is how it should be. Googling meta routes is super annoying though. Especially when your party does not like your chosen route and starts whining and raging, even if their idea is inferior to yours.
Why tanking is my favorite role by far since the inception of WoW: 1. I can pull at the pace that I want (as fast as possible, with respect to the pull difficulty in M+). I hate tanks that are slow and rude when asked to go faster. 2. Extremely little downtime when LFGing M+ groups. 3. Depending on what tank you play, you are basically a 4th DPS. 4. Mostly because I don't trust other tanks.
I m tank from year 0 and yes u are right …but …because is a but ….the toon is more easy but your team mate are more worst ….and this RE make a tank role hard …because the dips in the last years are just a blablaoers …and really low of skill :)😅
all tank hero specs have been split into 2 groups, one is passive, the other is active damage. san = passive lots of resource gen and healing, deathbringer = more DPS (will probably be default ST/raid choice) with san being M+
Man your flow and the humor that brought me to your channel 5 yeras ago is still there. Such a pleasure. Thank your for these good informations and the work put into this video.
So blood DK sounds cool, many people say it’s the “most fun tank” but I’m worried it’s going to be really challenging. I’ve really only tanked on prot pally (which I find quite easy) but when I tried warrior a few times over the last handful of expansions it’s always felt way more complicated and like you have to carefully weave active mitigation abilities in certain orders or you’ll just die.. Is blood not for me if I find Warrior too complex and intimidating to play?
What would you recommend for arthritis hands … is there one that’s easiest to tank group content with that in mind or is tanking for bad hands just a no go ? I’d love to be a tank but I tired a warrior tank and my hands just hurt to bad after a short while
i was planning to abandon my DK this expac until i tried the new BDK and i fall in love again. frost are good too. now im not sure what to main or i shud go down altoholic road
Tuning aside, VDH and Prot Pally still look like the best for M+. Blood and Monk look amazing for raid. Bear and Warrior may be ok at both, but I wouldn't label either amazing.
For me, no Beserk, Elune's Chosen Moonbear. Basically the same spec I play right now with even more self healing to make my bear nearly a blood DK in raids.
Rogue monk shammy warlock are always the least played classes. If we are talking tanks you got like two options paladin warrior dk tend to be your typical never die tanks. They do alot of aoe dmg and have alot of defensive talents. Monk and druid these two tanks always do more dmg than any tank always. They tend yo suck at magic dmg and higher keys. Dh these guys are for higher keys the more you learn to kite packs and still do great dmg and utility the higher keys will be for you. Sure otger classes all can do this and sure people take all classes and specs to keys. But if you are reading this you are new most likely. Monk dh druid will be your leas user friendly tanks of them while war pala dk are fairly user friendly and naturally live linger without trying as hard.
Anywhere I look is putting BDK at C tier, B tier at best for tanking in M+ and raid.... Gdruid is right but I would say prot pala or war is far ahead of BDK right now in terms of survive/dps/potential
if you are new to tanking ( I been doing it since wrath when DK came out ), please remember that people who are mean to you when tanking are just mean shitty losers ... MOST PEOPLE are pretty compassionate and patient with tanks in my experience .... also, try follower dungeons as a way to learn tanking is accessible, easy, and fun it is HANDS DOWN my fave role (vengeance and brewmaster FTW and I'm excited this expac to get really good at all tanks) I will really only pve as a tank cause its just so fun ... and back in wrath I was like 12 and I was tanking (and people were very mean to me sometimes and loved me other times) and I still tank if a 12 year old back then could do it when there weren't many good guides and way more buttons, then you for sure can do it too we need more tanks!! and its definitely the most fun role >:) pick the one that the fantasy most enchants you ... for me that's easy I like tanks that don't "feel" like tanks and are really mobile (vengeance and brew master) the aesthetic of these two specs just really hits for me ... I've always LOVED guardian (but it feels a lil more boring compared to the other two) simply cause bear tank fantasy wise is so so so dope to me, and my next pick would probably be blood dk tho I haven't tanked DK since wrath prot warrior and pally feel the most boring to me simply because they are the typical tank aesthetic but they're really fun too!
First time anyone has ever called Guardian strong at the moment, we got live every top end tank, and also all the forum posts literally screaming for a rework...
the ping pong tank ^^ isnt that easy be real , one missed combo one missed self heal and you are gone and the healer of your group will be so mad for over healing you a lot , yeah i know in hight skilled groups it is nice to be the op self heal tank but most of the time you are going to be the tank that has 10 % or 100 % and i am not sure that this is the perfect tank
I mean… They (and almost all channels), do tier lists for every patch.. and people watch it! After that… it’s easiest/hardest class…. Then.. “Most fun” DPS/Heal/Tank. Etc etc. Channels just need to generate content.
The problem with blood DKs is that until they have a shitton of haste they are kinda boring, as you will be waiting for runes and cooldowns a lot. I hope they fixed that in WW.
I love tanking. I played since wotlk and didnt start tanking until legion bc i was scared, but i was scared for no reason bc its rly not that hard. And if u wipe the group just blame the healer 😂👍 ;p
Would be my first time play tank as a main since mop but everytime i say to me go take youre brewmaster or warrior and tank i que into a group and all dps needs to pull everything, because they only want it fast. And thats a sh* feeling you are useless as tank because deff cds from dps and a dump heal outheal it no problem 😢 i want to have fun when i play and this is not fun 😔
Dammit, this has me wanting to properly learn to bear now. Besides, if I'm going to get punched in the face as dps or a healer, it's only fitting that I take on the role.
If people are nervous about tanking, relax. You’re just there to get hit by stuff. You’ve been training for tank since you started wow except now you’ll die less. If you die, blame the healer. If someone doesn’t interrupt, blame the dps lol. You literally spam a couple buttons to hit everything and then just hit whatever buttons you want. Choose by icon looks or whatever. You can’t do wrong as long as you’re being hit
In a dungeon, the healer is there to heal the dps. A tank should be able to survive by themselves. That’s the mentality when a tank pull a pack. If you can’t survive, maybe pull less or upgrade your gear.
Just a disclaimer for anyone coming here thinking this is some sort of like "only play these 2 tanks, the others are all eh" This is purely just an opinion piece of a single persons view of tanks, there is no data or anything like that yet, half the ability's change every few days at the moment. Do not take this as gospel on what to play. Who knows both of these tanks could be at the bottom of the pack when the actual data comes out.
@@andrealamorgese3363 thats the problem with these kind of videos people believe what they hear and it hurts other players like me cause i main a proc pally in mythic dungeons and its hard to compete with DH at times
part of making a spec choice is also knowing the other 2 options...and WW / MW blow ballsack (not in numbers but in gameplay)... druid/DK/PALA have the best possible options all around, with monk/war/dh now falling behind. (dh got neutered with no double sigils and if havoc isn't tuned right no one will bring one) (all war specs are very meh and the most uninspired design/spell wise)
are blood DKs still with any kind of jump or ability to surge forward? lol i miss blood tanking, but everybody is impatient now days i cant imagine trying to tank mythics without a fel rush, or a leap, or something...
Well there's a San'layn talent that gives *10% speed bonus to Death's Advance and Wraithwalk. Still tho, would've been nice to have more than just those
They really ought to make Death Grip propel you to the enemy as an option instead of pulling the enemy to you. Or maybe make that a talent in the DK tree?
Going with BDK. It has the most resource management which makes it the most fun for me. I also love the area control they offer. I considered BRM but it feels a bit too much like a melee dps with cooldowns. I have never tried Guardian. Maybe U should?
