Can you do a video of an actual class happening…would like to see the techniques and interaction between the teachers and students

There are child protection measures in classrooms that make this unlikely to be possible.

Do you know anything about the U.S Fulbright English teaching assistant award? And do you know if teaching English in Vietnam is similar to teaching English in Thailand?
@ninja.teacher

I see Fulbright place you in regional cities which aren’t considered desirable locations by most people here, so I wouldn’t recommend it unless that’s what you’re looking for. First time teachers in Vietnam typically earn more than in Thailand, with similar living costs.

Hi there, how much does it cost for a middle school kid to attend international school in VN?
@ninja.teacher

International schools can be quite expensive unfortunately. They vary so best to contact the ones in the area you’re planning to live in and check directly.

Can be up to $30K annually so if you are not getting your employer to pay for it, good luck

@@fs5775 Thank you! good to know. I have 2 kids so that would be 60k/yr. As much as a college tuition in the States. LOL.

Hi can one teach English in Vietnam without a degree
@thumtlnguyen3626

If you do not have a degree and a native or a non native without a strong accent and have teaching experience you will have more chance in smaller cities. As for non native speakers I saw a lot of them in Vietnam esp. Filipinos. One thing is for sure, your wage is paid less than those who have a degree. The same is true for non native English speakers. I know some Russians they are paid pretty good $19 per hour or more depending on experience. If you teach 15 hours per week, with $19 per hour pay you can have a pretty comfortable life in Vietnam ( without luxury).

A bachelor’s degree is a requirement set by the Vietnamese government in order to obtain a work permit and work legally in Vietnam.

You guys need to consider non natives too, some of us only speak English since birth but unfortunately we are considered non natives,which is really sad.😢

15 years ago, schools were literally grabbing backpackers off Bui vien asking if they wanted to teach. I believe you can still get cash jobs in smaller language schools in outer districts, but you'll have to factor in Visa runs to your budget.
