Hey! Have you ever tried seaweed fertilizer/soil conditioner? I recently watched a grower who would use it during the coldest/hottest parts of the year because it helps succulents tolerate extreme temperatures more.

I am growing succulents outside as an experiment, pushing them to be frost-hardy, as low as I think they are able. The temps dipped as low as the upper 20s and my succulents are kept in a mini greenhouse (protected by a recycled plastic bag) to stay dry. Lucky so far, minus my euphorbia and mother flapjacks. My terrace gets about 8-10 hrs of sun (right now in the winter), northeast light. The plants: echeveria lilacina and black prince, Gollum's Ear crassula, grapto ame and paraguayensis, sedum japonicum and adolphi, kalanchoe cinnamon, luciae(prop) and chocolate soldier, pachy ovi, and a props pot from discarded leaves from months ago and growing. I feel a lot better now growing succulents after a lot of trial and error last summer, learning about dormancy and everything else about the plants I want. Appreciate what you said about thinking differently and not be so biased in growing succulents, because I used to. Ty Mark!
