You mean why do I put the word caps in quotation marks? Well joe, if you were educated, and knew grammar, you would be able to answer that yourself. Obviously, your grammar skills seems to be very low. Learn grammar, then get back to me . I'm not on here to teach 4th grade grammar.
martin woyzeck Sorry, there's no grammar rule that says to put a word in quotes for no reason. If you want to act like a smart ass, it helps if you actually know what you're talking about, Marty.
god who didn't get teary-eyed when Bobby died ?? That was deeply heartbreaking, when Diane said 'you'll see our baby in heaven', and when Sipowitz turned around for the last look
Steve Goldman So very true! In fact my husband and I are on our second go round of watching th e reruns. After first time, we attempted to watch regular programming on DTV, but not much to pick from. Repitious movies, and trashy reality shows. Thank God for Awesome reruns!
One of a really great series. Wish they were still being shown. Great actors and closer to reality then other police shows. Brings back many memories for retired police officers like me. Great show.
I discovered re-runs on H&I recently and watch them regularly. Some people like Homer Simpson, I'll take Andy Sipowicz. This is superior television. I forward to the revival with Kim Delaney and Bill Brochtrup, with Theo Sipowicz on NYPD working to discover his father's murderer - from what I've read.
I'm revisiting the show now -- just started last week, March 1, 2021 - binging on a season-per-10 days lol. Just watched Season 2, Episode 8 (1994): "You Bet Your Life" featuring famous cameos such as the late Peter Boyle, Enrico Colantoni ("Veronica Mars"; "Flashpoint"), Jon Seda ("Selena"; "Chicago P.D.") as well as a young Paul Giamatti ("Lady in the Water"; "San Andreas"; "Billions"). David Caruso ("King of New York"; "CSI: Miami") should have stayed on -- but sometimes one's EGO gets in the way lol
This was just great! I still watch NYPD blue every day on the Audience channel and have often wondered where some of these stars are today. Thanks so much :D
Scott try "highway patrol" no character development, no interpersonal relationships just 22 minutes of cops and robbers, and fabulous cars. the shows you mention were very good, and on "homicide " life on the streets, opening shots of Baltimore in the early seasons included a shot of a clock tower, formerly known as the bromo tower because instead of numbers it had "bromoseltzer" on its face, and I was an electrician that helped rewire it in the mid '70s. I belive it was a shot tower earlier in it's life. youtube has high patrol.
Kat Masterson: I think Fran Dressure summed him up when he left the show to pursue the big screen..."Where did he was going with that big white butt of his?"
He always gets my vote as one of worst actors ever. On CSI: Miami he turned himself into a caricature by delivering every line in exactly the same way.
You forgot Lt. Bale, who helped Andy become Sergeant. Played by Currie Graham, the character did not get along with Andy at first but when Andy covered for him finding his credit card connected to illicit sex encounters that could have ended Lt. Bale's career, Bale came through for Andy. Currie went on to play several character roles on various series before another Bochko series Murder in the First gave him a slot as a regular as attorney Mario Siletti for 3 seasons. He was in several episodes of Reacher most recently.
I still remember the episode of Hill Street Blue when Dennis Franz played a dirty cop Dennis Buntz to a Psycho Killer, it introduced me to the talent and skill of the man and converted me to a devoted fan.
Best cop show ever! Best tv show ever with the possible exception of West Wing. But those two shows are so different I would call it a tie. And Andy, what a guy!
At about 4:27 - 4:32, when the narration talks about actor Nick Turturro as the character of "Det. James Martinez," they are showing shots of actor Esai Morales as the character "Lt. Tony Rodriguez."
YOU FORGOT TO MENTION THAT JIMMY SMITTS PLAYED A COLUMBIAN DRUG DEALER IN THAT CLASSIC 80'S POLICE MOVIE "RUNNING SCARED" WITH BILLY CHRISTAL AND GREGORY HINES. I LOVE THAT MOVIE.
I used to watch this show as a kid. I had watched it since I had a huge childhood crush on Jimmy Smits :). They should have mentioneed him playing the lead roll in Stephen King's The Tommyknockers. This and the Law&Order series (original, SVU, CI) were always my favorite cop shows to watch growing up. I wish Netflix or Hulu would have this on their sites.
Watching the whole series again on Hulu. Watched the episode where Simone dies tonight. I was pissed when he died on the show. I was pissed again when I found out later he wanted written out to do another show and I'm pissec all over again tonight. He was a good character.
@@alanhobbs7048 I got mine from Zoom DVD so I would check their website as they have quite a lot of complete series on their website but they also do mail order too.I for one recommend as they are fairy quick and they also take orders on their phone line and their customer service line is fast and efficient.
I always liked the mid-70s Cop show Police Story. At that time it was considered one of the best. I'd like to get all the episodes on DVD if they are available. Lots of big time actors were featured.
Some of the missing cast were Rick Schroeder, Andrea Thompson,Justine Miceli,Bonnie Sommerville,Jaqeline Obradors Amy Bremmamen but I thinki inmispelled so me of the names. These were all detectives and I didn't include any of the Captains of the sqaud or PA's.
In its original content would never last in 2018. Too many butt hurt people would boycott and harass the writers and actors for being bigots and using foul language and nudity. The 90's were perfect for this show, we still could take a joke and realize it was just good tv.
RICKY SHROEDER WANTED OUT OF THE ACTING BUSINESS BECAUSE HE NEEDED TO SPEND MORE TIME WITH HIS FAMILY AFTER HIS SON WAS DIAGNOST WITH A SERIOUS MEDICAL CONDITION.
Dennis Franz is obviously a human 'B'ing'. I have been labeled a human 'doing'. Jewish Jesus Ministries has brought 2 my attention that I can run, I can run; I can run: but I can't hide from the 'blues'. Song 4 The Occasion from "JackyL": 'When will it rain'. Godspeed 2 NYPD Blue
NYPD Blue was great but the turnover kinda hurts the show and its legacy. The fact that it was still watchable despite the turmoil is all the more impressive nonetheless.
i'm so glad you didnt discuss the girl that looked like mcauly caulkin as a teen on drugs. shes the reason i had to stop watching the show. shes so weird.
