Quality of work is like the lowest priority in consulting. Get done, get done fast… I was hired as a consultant because of bringing empathy and done right the first time (as much as possible) but I am told I’m on a performance plan because of the thing I was hired for. Consulting is also SALES - I was also told literally to stop working on orojects then reprimanded for not selling more to the client 🤦🏼♀️. We even had the discussion about this in my interview, which I have learned was just a hiring blitz where they need certifications and warm bodies. It probably would NOT have mattered what I said (consulting can be catfishing.)
That said, most of the people are great - but having dealt with consultants for years… I gave learned that everything I suspicioned is actually confirmed🤷🏼♀️
You have to put up with a lot in Consulting, figure out what you want to get out and the joys that will keep you. I must say it is rewarding when you clear through the noise 🙏🏿
