Are the answers to humanity’s biggest questions written in the stars? Our host Kmele Foster is on a journey to find out.
This video is an episode from @The-Well, our publication about ideas that inspire a life well-lived, created with the @JohnTempletonFoundation.

Why are we here? What is our purpose? Are any of our scientific efforts actually adding up to important revelations? Does understanding our cosmic origins really contribute to humanity as a whole?
We know what it’s like to be “street-level,” to understand our cities, our social behaviors, our day-to-day lives - but what happens if we look up? How does our understanding of humanity change when we raise our attention to the space beyond our skylines?
These are the questions that our host Kmele Foster is exploring in this episode of The Well podcast. Helping Kmele along the way is Sean Dougherty, the director of ALMA Observatory in Northern Chile, home of Earth’s darkest skies and 50% of the world’s megatelecopes.
If the answers to humanity’s questions are written in the stars, this observatory might be the one to translate them.

_In the end, only three things matter: how much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you._ ―Attributed to Siddhartha Gautama (the Buddha) *_Without love and sense of humor there is unhappiness and life is meaningless._* 💕☮🌎🌌

LIFE ITSELF, LOVE AND MONEY There is something greater than Love and that is life itself. For without life itself, there can be no Love. There is something greater than Money and that is life itself. For without life itself, Money loses all meaning and purpose. Extremely Important Existential Pertinent Apparent Fact: EF AEAD SE Eternal Future, All Earthlings Are Dead, Sorry Earthlings. SMART PEOPLE AND/OR AI'S NEEDED: Consider the following: UNLESS the following Impossible Mission is successfully accomplished, our very life and existence does not ultimately matter: MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: (Or so it currently appears): For those who have the mental and physical resources to help (including AI's): Try to save at least 1 single species on and from this Earth to exist beyond this Earth, solar system and most probably collapsing spiral shaped galaxy into a universe that never ends in a big freeze or by some other means so that life itself on and from this Earth has continued meaning and purpose to potentially throughout all of future eternity. (Otherwise, all life on and from this Earth, real and artificial, eventually dies and goes extinct, is ultimately meaningless in the grand scheme of things, and are all a waste of spacetime in this universal existence.) * Mission Impossible of the Highest Order: MIHO. * Nature is our greatest ally in so far as Nature gives us life and a place to live it, AND Nature is also our greatest enemy that is going to take it all away. (Can we change the ending?) LIFE ITSELF: Life Itself only matters to life itself, only as long as life itself still exists. It's just that life itself is not always going to exist, at least not from this Earth, nor probably from this solar system, nor possibly from this possible collapsing spiral shaped galaxy we exist in, nor possibly from throughout all of existence itself, it all depends upon what is really true. Go out and enjoy life while we have it to enjoy. For every moment that passes, one less moment being alive and one moment closer to being not alive. 'Eternal Peace', 'Eternal Death' awaits us all. Currently, no exceptions at this time.

"Who are we? Why are we here? And do we matter?" I'm a scientist and I have never found these questions interesting when asked in an existential manner while looking up at the stars. Do you think protozoa in a petri dish could ever fathom the slightest understanding of what we are, beyond our utility to them? We matter where we matter - in our homes and communities and cultures. I know who I am to myself and to my family, the role I play in my community and for my country. I'm here to try and bring more harm than good to those around me, to pass on my genes if I choose to, and to learn and share knowledge with others. I matter to those who depend on me for care, to my country for the taxes I pay and rules I follow, to the coworkers I make laugh and strangers I cheer up. I understand my insignificance and it doesn't cause me to look for something deeper - not in the cosmos or religion. I just don't get the point of these questions. I don't find them deep at all, in fact I think looking for them obscures the very real difference I can make in the lives of those I can influence in my life. The answers to those questions don't come from out there, they come from in here.

Amazing piece of work Kmele. I think whoever sums up this kind of curiosity about ourselves and the universe as some kind of midlife crisis is deeply mistaken. As someone who's been curious about the bigger questions and how things work for many years, I couldn't reccomend the 'waking up' app highly enough, as strange as it may sound. The ideas within it I think are crucial for a better future for us all

Humanity can first find meaning in the smallest things. The atom-no matter how small-we must learn how to value it and rediscover some aspects that need an investigative dig through of the origin of basically everything in this planet. The smallest components make a lot more huge differences than every one of us here could ever expect.

Yes, anyways, I would suggest Apart from random informational clips, daily current affairs, entertainment, jokes, science (study of a process/ phenomenon), mainstream narratives, propaganda, lies, etcetera if you're interested in Theology, Purpose of Life, Reason for Creation/ Existence should have a look at this - First thing which should be considered is that THERE has to be one Absolute Truth/ Objective Reality (100%) [regardless of what different scientists, ph.ds, doctors, philosophers, societies, religions, cultures, individuals, etcetera believe]. The rest could be categorised as either - 1.) Some Truth with some Falsehood mixed in it (no matter in what ratio/ percentage it is in) or 2.) Complete Falsehood/ Delusion (100% Wrong). Its something like this - [If Analogy is to be used our Body is like a Hardware of the Computer and our Soul is like a Software. Just as Computer's Hardware is Useless without a Software, similarly, a Body is also Useless /Lifeless without a Soul.] We go through 5 Phases in our Life :- 1. The Realm (outside of this material Universe) where we took an oath & chose to be granted free will and want to be get Tested (The Testimony of believing in Only One God by our soul), 2. In our mother's womb (9 months) - The soul is breathed into the body, which gets created from a single molecule through a unique DNA🧬 (An Instruction Manual/ A Program/ Code) fashioned/ programmed by Creator. And, as the soul enters a body that's from where our consciousness and conscience comes (it happens with a lightning speed i.e. in a fraction of a second which Scientists/ Doctors couldn't able to capture it), 3. On Earth 🌎 (On an average of about 60-70 years) [Commencement of Test with the Development of Conscience], 4. In the Grave (The time frame from our death till the Day of Judgment/ Resurrection) & 5. In Paradise or Hell (Eternal Life). All are Temporary except after the Resurrection. So, the consciousness in brain 🧠 gets activated when soul enters the body & through soul the conscience (sense of right and wrong) of heart gets activated (including feelings like joy, peace, pain, anger, etc.).

I feel that these questions of our existance can only be discovered by going 'inside' rather than outside or 'up'. We connect to our soul through consciousness. Consciousness is expanded through contemplation, introspection, stillness, presence, prayer, meditation, etc. Doing the inner work connects us to the One who knows these answers. Curiosity & strong desire for truth is the portal. ❤

If we analyse History then its easy to realise that there isn't a SINGLE civilization in human History which hasn't been destroyed / punished / annihilated for their disobedience and sins. Be it - Babylonian, Mesopotamian, Indus Valley civilization, Persian, Roman, Assyrian, etc. etc. However, there are probably people who think that this Technologically Advanced Modern Civilization could be an exception. We all can just wait to see or Prepare! And, When I used to talk about upcoming War & Eschatology in about 2016 - 2017 People used to give me a look as if I had 3 heads. I at that time had a belief it could get triggered in 2022 or 2023 based on knowledge, belief & intuition. However, after the Pandemic in 2020 & Russian Invasion in 2022 made many people realise that something is going on. Btw, This is the Order of Events according to my limited knowledge & understanding (I can elaborate much more but I tried to be as concise as possible) :- Collapse of Petro-dollar, Paper monetary system [(actual cause of WW3), many geo-political conflicts and situations are side reasons /smoke and mirrors] ~ 80% - 90% expected to die ~ Many years of great oppression & injustice, more than even now (probably 7) ~ lsraeI ruling state of the World (obvious) ~ Emergence of Mahdi (r.a.) - A Guided & Just ruler ~ Peace & Prosperity for a while ~ Coming of Dajjal/Antíchrist (their much awaited one-eyed Messiah) in Human form (live for 37 days & will do many miracles & many things) ~ coming of Eesa/Jesus (p.b.u.h.) & killing Dajjal ~ Peace for many years (some say 8-9 years & some 40) ~ Coming of Yajuj and Majuj (a corrupt ancient tribe) in large numbers & much violence & killing ~ Their destruction from an infection / disease on their neck by Allah s.w.t. ~ Peaceful death of all the believers from a breeze from Yemen ~ Destruction of the Kaaba 🕋 (in Mecca, Saudi Arabia) brick to brick by Dhul suwaq qatain (a person with short legs) ~ Dwelling of only Disbelievers and Criminals on Earth ~ The Earth will be cursed coz there will be no one to say La ilaha il Allah (There's no God except Allah) ~ Trembling of Mountains & shaking of the Earth (physical destruction of the World and the Universe). We have been already warned about it! And there is no city but that We will destroy it before the Day of Resurrection or punish it with a severe punishment. That has ever been in the Register inscribed. [Chapter 17 Isra (The Night Journey) : 58] 'That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not.' Quran: Chapter 4 An-Nisa (Women), Verse 157.

We are going through this crisis each century.. A pandemic at the 20 year mark signifies blaming other people for our health problem. Self focus in the roaring 20's. and then a coming together with war or settling the West. People are becoming wiser now. We have to in order to save ourselves, the nation and world. Leaders who inspire us to come together instead of ones that use their positions to attack others for self-gratification will be a sign that it's working.

I firmly believe that humanity can found the true meaning of existence while gardening. And so, in simbiosis with the Natural environment, growing natural food. The greek root od the word paradise means "garden", so, i believe, we are happy when we are surrounded by plants. And the word "human" derive from the word "humus", that thin fertile soil that make Life possible. We are cementing everything around us, loosing our roots, our need to connect with other species, and so we are in crisis, not only because of the climate change deriving from our actions, but because we feel as if we are already in exile, forced to search for another planet where we can find another paradise, another promised land, just to lose it again and again

Here is a fun one for a new perspective. The usual model for our existence has humanity around for only a few minutes of time in a year of all existence to date. It's a lopsided model because the end point is not now, it's when the universe fizzles into infrared radiation. We are not even at noon yet. The best measure for time in the galaxy is the galactic year - one trip around the galactic center being a day - or whatever measure to use. Time prior to the formation of the galaxy is irrelevant. So is the time after the galaxy disintegrates. However many times the sun circles Sagittarius A is how to measure existence in a relevant way. We can estimate that span and then get a decent idea of our place within it. Then we can talk about how long the earth, or the galactic civilization will last.

What I will say about my thoughts on god, are this. I believe in one universe. One universe where everything that should happen will, and everything that shouldn’t happen won’t. Essentially, there are not an infinite number of possibilities, simply 1. This conclusion is based on my gut feeling that ‘I had to exist’. You had to exist too! Looking into the future, there are infinite possibilities, but looking into the past there is just one. God for me is the universe. I believe that the universe is far more complex than what we can visually see and it’s a miracle that life can exist in a delicate balance of a dead universe. My philosophy is essentially determinism but I hate really to put a label to it

IN THE INTEREST OF FINDING THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING: SOME THINGS MODERN SCIENCE DOES NOT APPARENTLY KNOW: Consider the following: a. Numbers: Modern science does not even know how numbers and certain mathematical constants exist for math to do what math does. (And nobody as of yet has been able to show me how numbers and certain mathematical constants can come from the Standard Model Of Particle Physics). b. Space: Modern science does not even know what 'space' actually is nor how it could actually warp and expand. c. Time: Modern science does not even know what 'time' actually is nor how it could actually warp and vary. d. Gravity: Modern science does not even know what 'gravity' actually is nor how gravity actually does what it appears to do. And for those who claim that 'gravity' is matter warping the fabric of spacetime, see 'b' and 'c' above. e. Speed of Light: 'Speed', distance divided by time, distance being two points in space with space between those two points. But yet, here again, modern science does not even know what space and time actually are that makes up 'speed' and they also claim that space can warp and expand and time can warp and vary, so how could they truly know even what the speed of light actually is that they utilize in many of the formulas? Speed of light should also warp, expand and vary depending upon what space and time it was in. And if the speed of light can warp, expand and vary in space and time, how then do far away astronomical observations actually work that are based upon light and the speed of light that could warp, expand and vary in actual reality? f. Photons: A photon swirls with the 'e' and 'm' energy fields 90 degrees to each other. A photon is also considered massless. What keeps the 'e' and 'm' energy fields together across the vast universe? And why doesn't the momentum of the 'e' and 'm' energy fields as they swirl about not fling them away from the central area of the photon? And electricity is electricity and magnetism is magnetism varying possibly only in energy modality, energy density and energy frequency. Why doesn't the 'e' and 'm' of other photons and of matter basically tear apart a photon going across the vast universe? Also, 'if' a photon actually red shifts, where does the red shifted energy go and why does the photon red shift? And for those who claim space expanding causes a photon to red shift, see 'b' above. Why does radio 'em' (large 'em' waves) have low energy and gamma 'em' (small 'em' waves) have high energy? And for those who say E = hf; see also 'b' and 'c' above. (f = frequency, cycles per second. But modern science claims space can warp and expand and time can warp and vary. If 'space' warps and expands and/or 'time' warps and varies, what does that do to 'E'? And why doesn't 'E' keep space from expanding and time from varying?). g. Energy: Modern science claims that energy cannot be created nor destroyed, it's one of the foundations of physics. Hence, energy is either truly a finite amount and eternally existent, or modern science is wrong. First Law Of Thermodynamics: "Energy can neither be created nor destroyed." How exactly is 'energy' eternally existent? h. Existence and Non-Existence side by side throughout all of eternity. How?

We can project on it what we don't want to see in ourselves but in others and the world to try to get rid of it. Or we can accept that we have invented the world we see and so we cannot be a victim of it. All limitations we impose on ourselves and others are attempts to be victims. We get the world we ask for. Galaxies and Life just come and go in this eternally existent existence we are in. @@donaldothomoson Well, numerous items to go into. a. Will post the open questions concerning the big bang here on this post. After this post, look for more posts: b. Concerning CMBR and Red Shift. c. Concerning galaxies. d. Concerning universe being eternally existent. Sometimes they post where others can see them, sometimes they don't. Will try to check back to see what posts and what doesn't. If they don't, I might be able to post another way. SINGULAR BIG BANG THEORY (FAIRY TALE): Okay, for those who believe that the singular big bang theory is really true and that all the energy and matter in this universe came from a very dense singularity: Please also honestly and accurately answer: 1. Where did the singularity come from or did it eternally exist throughout all of eternity past? 2. Where did the 1 iota of energy come from to trigger the singularity to 'bang' one day in eternity? 3. What forces of nature existed to allow the singularity to exist and to 'bang'? 4. What forces of nature allowed our current forces of nature to come into existence? 5. What exactly is 'space' and how exactly does space expand? 6. What exactly is 'time' and how exactly does time vary? 7. What exactly is 'gravity' and how exactly does gravity do what gravity does in this universe? 8. How exactly do numbers and mathematical constants exist in the universe for math to do what math does in this universe? 9. RED SHIFT: Consider the following: Modern science claims that energy cannot be created nor destroyed, it's one of the foundations of physics. 'IF' a photon red shifts, where does the energy from the red shifted photon go? And what makes that energy leave the photon? 10. CMBR from a singular big bang should be long gone by now and should not even be able to be seen by us. 11. There are other more 'normal' physical explanations for the 'red shift' observations.

@@donaldothomoson CMBR: (Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation): Consider the following: Per QED (Quantum Electro Dynamics, whereby 'em' interacts with the electrons in atoms and molecules) and QCD (Quantum Chromo Dynamics, whereby 'em' interacts with the nucleus of atoms), matter has to exist for 'em' to be given off by that matter. What matter exists in outer space for that microwave 'em' to be seen by us? And 'if' it were from when matter first came into existence during the fairy tale of the 'singular big bang', that 'em' should be long gone by now and should not even be able to be seen by us. BB -> Matter and 'em' are created -> 'em' moves at the speed of light, matter moves more slowly -> (Billions of years go by) -> matter (and us) here ..........................................'em' long gone. (And there is no matter 'out here' yet for any 'em' to come back to us via QED or QCD). AND: RED SHIFT: WARNING: (CONTAINS EXISTENTIAL MATTERS): Red Shift: Consider the following: a. Current narrative: Space itself is expanding. (Even though science does not fully know yet what 'space' actually is nor how it could actually expand). b. But consider: The net effect of solar winds, particles and energy pushing outward from galaxies, (even modern science claims 'em' has momentum), continuously, over a prolonged period of time, with other galaxies doing the same, with nothing to stop them from doing so, would tend to push galaxies away from each other and even potentially allow the cosmic web to form between galaxies. And then, when we here in our galaxy, look at far away galaxies, with other galaxies in between, the net effect of all those galactic interactions would have galaxies furthest from ours move away faster the further those galaxies were from us, including us perceiving a red shift of energy. c. Now, utilizing the scientific principal of Occam's razor, which way is more probably correct? What the current narrative is ('a' above), or 'b' utilizing known physics? * Added note: Plus, 'if' my analysis is correct that our spiral shaped galaxy is collapsing in upon itself, then consider also: d. When we look at solar systems between ours and the center of the galaxy, those solar systems would be getting pulled faster towards the center than ours, hence also seeing a red shift of energy. e. When we look at solar systems between ours and the outer edge of the galaxy, our solar system would be getting pulled faster towards the center then them, hence also seeing a red shift of energy. f. Only if we looked at solar systems adjacent to ours should we see a blue shift of energy (as the solar systems became closer together as they moved towards the center of the galaxy). I also propose looking for blue shifts of energy between our solar system and adjacent solar systems to confirm or deny this current belief. g. But if true, would also add to our observation of seeing a red shift of energy in this universe as our spiral shaped galaxy collapses in upon itself. Of which, not only would species from this Earth have to get off of this Earth before the Sun becomes a red giant one day and wipes out all life on this Earth if not even the entire Earth itself, but species from this Earth would also have to successfully get out of this collapsing spiral shaped galaxy, otherwise, most probably death awaits us all and this Earth and all on it are all just a waste of space time in this universe. All life from this Earth would eventually die and go extinct. Currently, no exceptions. h. QUESTION: Do basically all galaxies eventually collapse in upon themselves? (Which would add to the perceived red shift between galaxies as they all basically shrink in size). Modern science currently states that 'gravity' is matter bending the fabric of spacetime. There is a lot of matter in a galaxy and hence would make a huge dent in spacetime. How could galaxies not collapse in upon themselves if space and time were bent to make it so? Of which also, the progression of galaxies?: 1. How exactly do galaxies form? (The current narrative is that matter, via gravity, attracts other matter. The electric universe model also includes universal plasma currents.) 2. How exactly do galaxies flatten out if gravity is acting on the whole galaxy? (Other forces must also be at work besides gravity for a galaxy to flatten out? Electrical and/or magnetic forces?) 3. How exactly do galaxies become spiral shaped? (At least one way would be orbital velocity of matter with at least gravity acting upon that matter, would cause a spiral shaped effect. The electric universe model also includes energy input into the galaxy, which spiral towards the galactic center, which then gets thrust out from the center, at about 90 degrees from the input. Additionally, with the conservation of energy, as energy moves into the vertical plane from the center of the horizontal plane, energy from the horisontal plane moves to the center of the horizontal plane to replace the energy that moved into the vertical plane. There is also the conservation of angular momentum. As more matter moves towards the center of the galaxy, that portion of the galaxy would speed up relative to the matter towards the outer portions of the galaxy.) Additionally: GALAXY SPIN: (Inner and Outer areas spinning at the same speed): The inner and outer areas of the galaxy are connected via gravitational, electrical, and magnetic energy fields. While moving at the same speed, the inner area has less space to travel whereas the outer area has more space to travel. Hence a spiral shape forms. 4. The natural progression of a galaxy would be to become smaller and smaller. 5. Of which, does all life throughout the entire universe (if other life even exists in the universe besides what is on this Earth, which is most probably true) eventually die and go extinct and the entire universe and all in it are ultimately meaningless in the grandest scheme of things and the entire universe and all in it are ultimately just a waste of spacetime in existence? And even 'if' the current narrative of space itself is expanding, and the entire universe would eventually end in a 'big freeze', wouldn't the end of life itself in this entire universe still occur?

@@donaldothomoson QUESTION: DO ALL GALAXIES EVENTUALLY COLLAPSE IN ON THEMSELVES? a. Modern science claims that 'gravity' is matter warping the fabric of spacetime. b. There is a lot of matter in a galaxy which would put a huge dent in spacetime. c. How could a galaxy not collapse in upon itself if space and time were warped to make it so? d. Or, is modern science wrong as to what 'gravity' truly is? e. And what exactly is 'space' that it can be warped? f. And what exactly is 'time' that it can be warped? g. It must have been a huge star that supernova'd so as to be able to generate a nebula cloud large enough to generate more stars, planets, moons, solar systems and a new galaxy. j. Or, is modern science wrong about how all nebula clouds form? k. Is it at least possible that galaxies collapse in upon themselves, go supernova, thereby generating enough matter and energy so as to be able to generate new stars, planets, moons, solar systems and a new galaxy? l. Galaxy -> Collapses in upon itself -> Supernova's -> Huge nebula cloud forms -> New galaxy eventually forms. m. Possibly been going on throughout all of eternity past, is going on today, and possibly will be going on throughout all of future eternity? n. Possibly also why there are so many unanswered questions concerning the singular big bang theory, because the singular big bang theory is not really true? o. The universe always existed in some form, never had a beginning, and might possibly never have an end? No Creator necessary? Is that even why in part some cling to a singular big bang theory so as to be able to still in part be able to justify a Creator God existing (which probably does not actually exist in actual reality)? p. Modern science claims that an expanding 'space' of this existence will end in a 'big freeze'. But is it more correct that this existence will not end in a big freeze but just that galaxies and life just come and go in this eternal existence? Life just has to find a way to stay alive in outer space with galaxies that come and go, otherwise life ends one day from something, including possibly a collapsing galaxy?

Alpha and Omega, beginning and end, have been replaced by actual reality. WHO AND/OR WHAT AM I? DO 'I' EVEN EXIST? Consider the following: a. I am a human as defined by humans. b. I am an energy based quarkelectronian as modern science claims that all matter is made up of quarks, electrons and interacting energy and I am made up of matter and interacting energy. c. I am a being of 'light', 'if' my current theory of everything is correct whereby the 'gem' photon is the energy unit of this universe that makes up everything in this universe, including space, time and numbers. (Currently dependent upon the results of my gravity test). d. "I" do not even actually exist but eternally existent space time exists as me, currently in the forms as above. * I exist and yet "I" simultaneously do not exist, dependent upon perspective. But yet, do "I" not truly exist in absolute truth reality as only eternally existent space time exists as all things in absolute truth reality? * "I" can mentally change between perspectives thereby experiencing existence from those various perspectives. "My" mind continues to expand, but is it truly 'my' mind that is expanding or is it eternally existent space time's mind that is expanding? In absolute truth reality, it would seem to be the later. * 'To Be or Not To Be'. I am both, 'I Am and I Am Not.' But I Am Not it appears more than I Am. * Consider also: If asked the general question, 'What do you know?'. My current answer would be, 'Not much compared to all that can be known.' (I Am Not, More than I Am). It's humbling. * Is it truly any wonder that the flow of energy in the universe affects species? We are the universe experiencing itself. * Question: If 'I' never actually existed in the first place, how could 'I' ever die? * Added Note: Now, 'assuming' the above is correct, that 'I' do not even actually exist but that eternally existent energy exists as 'me', and that 'my' consciousness, memories and thoughts are actually the universe acting through the form of 'me': a. I have yet to acquire any 'new' knowledge via this supposed connection that cannot be explained by 'normal' means. (In other words, besides things I learned or intuited). Even my theory of everything and other ideas are due to study and critical thinking. Nor can I magically fluently speak a language that I have not already learned. (In other words, no magical connection with the 'universal consciousness' at this time can be noted). b. I have yet to be able to manipulate reality with my mind alone, my physical body is necessary to manipulate reality. c. While I can imagine being elsewhere in this universe, it does not appear that I can actually take just my mind actually there. (My mind is where my body is). d. Doesn't mean I will stop trying, just have not noticed the above as occurring as of yet.
