Here’s a cornering tip: don’t lean your body into the turn. Lean the bike and keep your body weight centered to the road surface. When one starts doing it, it feels like you’re leaning to the outside. I can breakdown the physics for you, but it will exponentially increase the frictive force on the tires as you corner and you’ll be able to carve tighter, faster, more aggressive turns. On technical courses like this it gives one a distinct advantage and allows one to carry speed through the corners.

There had to be some oil in that corner that got lifted from the water from how easily people were going down.

I spent a week cycling in the Dolomites back in early September. You’re going to love it. It is a life changing experience riding in places like that.

Some highlights riding in Dolomites for me were Passo Stelvio and Gavia in Bormio and Passo Giau in Cortina d'Ampezzo. Hit those up if you end up that way. Have a great trip!

10:04 I really do like this course. this is almost like a technical mountain bike course of 10 turns. I don't know if I would be so crazy about racing it wet. Or at least if I did I'd be running like 70 PSI pressure in my tires.

Not sure you mentioned it but if you want to maintain vo2 and also want to work handling, I’d highly recommend cross. I’m totally ass at it but it keeps the strength up while also keeping you off midwinter burnout.

World tour pros sometimes lose grip, crash, and take others down. Why would we find it surprising that less experienced riders do the same thing?

You fell on the outside of the turn and no one to your right, the centrifugal force pushed you to the outside right. You didn't take anyone out on that first fall.

hope you took air out in the pit - at your weight i'm guessing you could be at 55/57 especially in the rain - if you're on 28s
