Regarding racism. I am an older white man. I dated many races in my younger days and it still took me a long while to realize my own racism. I know, go figure, right? Unfortunately, as a half latina myself, I have to admit that within the oldschool latín people, there too racism is very much part of the culture, forgetting that half the country is black. History tells that Colombians themselves made difference between whiter (Spanish/European descendants) and darker less mixed people. Racism was just considered normal back in the days, blacks often had low paid jobs like servant, chauffeur. I hate this classes type of society, it's so unfair. I am glad our generation has laws that makes sure everyone is equal, but the old people have trouble adapting sometimes. I often had discussions with my grandmother, she was just raised in a different time.
Well mija, i too am latina but i too am old enough to tell you that i came from the generation that had to fight for equal rights! And now i am still alive in an era where we are seeing those rights taken away! So enjoy what rights we are not being threatened to loose! Because they are talking about taking the womans right to vote. Their reasoning behind this move?: they say that we(women)are too numerous to count our votes!?!!Can you believe that idiotic mentality?

We moved to the USA 2014 from Malaysia and 2015 I learn of this intellectual smart young man and then of cos Trevor Noah keep us sane thru the pandemic with some laughters and political and general news in the USA (I always hate politic news) now come 2022 I have more interest in political informations news in the USA than my own country hahaha! After the 2 years of time that the pandemic had robbed from us, I totally understand why Trevor made his decision ❤

Well... Technically, you can't get more latin than italian. The word latin comes from the Latini, which was a tribe in Italy. Italians (central italy, Roma and stuff) are the og latin people. They had their whole empire and stuff, but yeah, latin isn't latin american.
The adjective latin comes from ‘Latium’ which is the area where Rome is and Latin was also the language that Romans spoke and spread around so he is right, there is no one that can claim to be latin more than Italians.

@@alertnikole Which book? I read all the books George has written in the Game of Thrones cycle as well as short stories set in the Thrones universe. The story he wrote for The Book Of Swords looks to be the story House is based on, but the names were confusing there, as well.

So Trevor is going to rethink this right? Daily show is a really nice steady gig. I work in television and I don’t love shooting some of my shows but they are a great source of income… trevor the industry will forget you man don’t quit!! Hindsight is 2020 buddy don’t tank your career. You get great comedy deals trough your daily show status. When that daily show is gone your comedy day rates could drop hard.

Taxing cattle abusers isn’t exactly what the cows want (they want liberation) but it moves us forward on being able to cut down on their suffering by detouring ranchers from cattle farming. Lots of white people in the midwest think that Italians are not white. Having grown up Italian in the midwest there is no shortage of people who bullied me as a kid, calling my family criminals (mafia) and making fun of my last name because it sounds different. Italian is a weird one because if your name doesn't give you away you can pass but if a racist sees a hard to pronounce, very ethnic last name, than you get all the same old racist attitudes and treatment of any other minority.
I also grew up in the Midwest and I agree. My last name was German and I got teased and/or bullied for it and also for being Catholic in a 90% Scandinavian-Lutheran town.
That's not surprising because other European Immigrants (especially the Irish) were are one time not considered white... The problem is that once America accept them as white to make political/racist gains, European Immigrants assimilated and accepted the title in trade for upward mobility and financial gains.
