What The HELL Happened To The Division Heartland?

Ubisoft happened.

Too bad they can’t make the Dark Zone in The Division into a standalone game. The Dark Zone is such an excellent extraction shooter in its own right.

that old division survival mode was the goat. it was sooooo goood. if they used that as a base and added food/water mechanics and a few good questlines and safe zones to upgrade, it would of been sick af. shame..

The only reason Ubisoft stuck with Skull and Bones is because of a financial investment from the Singapore government that stated they had to ship the game. Without that stipulation Skull and Bones would have never seen the light of day. Do your research…

Heartland should never have been prusued. 1 - Forced PvP all over the map different than the first 2 games unwanted 2 - They announced Division 3 before this was even out of testing 3 - Players are questioning why keep making new Division titles, why not just add content to Div2. Some even go on to say all the Div2 content should have just been DLCs to Div1

(unconfirmed but...) Heartland was done and ready for shipment...considering the game wouldn't have needed as much red tape to get through for it to drop on Ubisoft's own launcher, Ubisoft Connect, Heartland could have been released there at nearly any time in the very near future and it also only really needed to pass the certification of PS, XB and Steam to be able to be released on those platforms; which as long as the game was in a healthy, playable state (which recent Beta testers attest it was), the mentioned platforms surely would have given certification happily. Also, it was expected for a specific release date to be announced at Ubisoft Forward as well to finally be released late Summer/early Fall 2024. As for Rainbow 6...the Rainbow 6 mentioned in association with Red Storm's, Heartland's team, displacement is the upcoming Rainbow 6 *Mobile* game; not the established Rainbow 6 Siege. Ubi killed Heartland to transfer investments and Red Storm's highly creative talents to xDefiant and R6Mobile in an attempt to compete with CoD and other big name e-sport games. If you notice, Heartland was still on track for release...until xDefiant initially did very well on Steam & YT with it's mock tournament literally the day before the earnings report released (which could have been edited that very morning after the xDefiant tournament before releasing). As for The Division 3: Red Storm and other resources from other studios of Heartland are not (at least at this time) being diverted to TD3 - which probably isn't even actually in solid development (it maybe be in very early development like site scouting and/or whiteboard conceptualizing but not full studio development yet) until the release of Star Wars Outlaws because The Division 3's Executive Producer, Julian Gerighty, remains Outlaws' Creative Director until Outlaws releases later this year. As for Heartland... The community, as a whole, over multiple medias (Twitter/X, TikTok, Facebook, Reddit, ect) have been vocally expressing their heartbreak and frustration at the game's apparent demise to the point that, at least, 2 community members had (unbeknown to each other at first) began petitions on Change*org in an attempt to convince Ubisoft to reconsider it's choice. One petition is currently sitting at 201 signatures and the other at 261 signatures - for a current total of 462 autographs in support for Heartland. In the petitions' comments, many individuals even stating plainly that, should Ubisoft be so inclined, they would happily pay a respectable price for the game over it's previously announced "free-to-play" status if it would reignite investor interest and see the game's release come to fruition. If you and your community would willing to aid The Division community in this quest, I won't be brash and disrespectful by posting the links here without permission but I'll be very happy to provide links to each petition that you could then pass along to your YT community. The likelihood that Ubisoft would have made money off of this mobile game is very slim. That's why they canceled it they knew due to market analysis the type of game that it is would be very difficult to translate to a mobile platform other than like a tablet do you needing a big screen and be able to manipulate the things. What they should have done is taken all that money development time and put it into either a bolstering up division two or hurry in the production of division 3 that has been their biggest seller in this type of game matter of fact. If you look around multiple multiple production studios have copied the divisions whole game style so that tells you it's a very popular type of game

My feeling is that it will in someway be integrated into The Division 3.

what happened is i played the test they had of it years ago and i uninstalled it after 15 minutes...it was bad and made no sense

AC Shadow is suffering massive backlash, I don't see how it's indicative of anything good for Ubisoft. It was SO hated the Wiki page for Yasuke has to be edited to support Ubisoft's decision.

You do know that redstorm is working on xDediant and Rainbow Six Siege right?.... The same type of games that they were working on with Division Heartland aka live service ones

As far as I know it got scrapped in a restructuring and readjustment of Ubisoft's business strategy. As in, they want to pivot away from a big live service title due to the high risks attached to such an investment. While you could say I'm talking out of my ass, I kinda see a pattern. As in, this game was not scratched in isolation, there were other things cut as well. There were also statements surrounding the company direction from the time that the AAAA title released. So yeah, I'm not surprised at all, even if I probably should be for some godforsaken reason.

i played the last years beta, it was pretty good and im sad that it was canceled I was waiting for it and from the beta it had alot of potential to become much better during the time is was still getting developed but nah we get star wars outlaws and skull and bones lol

last Ubisoft title i wanted to play. oh well. let's hope Arc raiders can take over the players

I did not want this at all, "free to play" games are always more expensive than regular games

I couldn't really play the other division games. But this i actually wanted to play. So let me guess ac jade is cancelled too i bet. Ubisofts losing money so they're canceling free games. Probably will put a price tag on the game just to play multiplayer with no story campaign like skull and bones.

RIP Division franchise !!!! this was it, Div3 will also be canceled, gaming devs are running for their lives from Ubisot labs :)) That was an EPIC fail, in a few years little by little will be nothing left of Ubisot !! and all of you please stop with Div2 content, there has been no actual content since NY DLC unless you changed the definition of "gaming content". Div2 a garbage game, still full of bugs after soo many years, Can`t even be compared with Div1
