1:16:20 my immediate thought was, well you make them come as a pair. Now, I know Liam and Ashley probably already have backup characters thought out, if not ready to go, so depending on their backstories this may or may not work, but I for one would find it super interesting to have an already established relationship between the two new characters. Could be just friends or siblings (though we've seen that dynamic already with Vex and Vax), or a couple (which I would find super fascinating), or even a parent and child. That would probably require some backstory gymnastics, but I can imagine having one character be like "I am burdened with glorious purpose and I need to go out and find my destiny!" And their parent (who maybe was an adventurer once upon a time but settled down to have a kid, which is why they're at whatever level they need to be at to fit with the party) being like "First of all: hell to the no. Do you have any idea how dangerous it is out there? I am not burying you. But I know you well enough to know you're not gonna listen to me and sneak out if need be, so just sit tight for two minutes, I need to go dig up my old adventuring gear. It's gotta be around here somewhere. You're going out risking your life for whatever stupid cause you think is so important? Well not without me you're not." Whoops. I think I just made the backstory for my new DnD character.

There's also the thing if Orym wants to be brought back. In a way he's with Derrig and Will and maybe they assured him he did his best. On the other hand maybe Orym won't let her finish what she started and as a warrior will fight until threat is gone. Idk it's 50/50

I realized that I feel as if I summoned this when I asked you earlier on Thursday who you think would need to be revived first and how I said that they were doing pretty well and not getting into too deep of trouble. Oops.

52:25 omg, can you imagine the _angst_ if Imogen accidentally kills Laudna??

Okay...here is what I think: First, some history. I think Armand Trechie is an Exandrian arms dealer, or was. Basically, he was working for the Cerberus Assembly in the Dwendalian Empire as an Assembly agent. His job was to suss out more information and research about dunamis magic. How we know this is the description of the vials Matt gave in Episode 33 the same one he gave way back in Campaign 2, regarding the prototyope alchemical version of dunamantic magic that Veth Brenatto and her husband were working on originally, in Felderwin. Somehow, Trechie had these vials in his possession, whether it was to give them to the Assembly, or to exchange them for information from the Kryn Dynasty. Perhaps, Trechie was an alchemist working for the Assembly. Either way, he went on the run, and escaped to Jrusar, after hiding out in The Paragon's Call, where he built up a network and allies. The Assembly discovered his theft and/or deceit, and sent this mercenary after him. She was able to hire muscle to pursue Trechie, hence the attack on the Paragon's Call fortress. This mercenary is also, I think, also trained in Ruidus arcana, having the same mutation as Imogen -- except hers hadn't really been shown, unless it's like Quicksilver from the X-Men, and her mutation is having higher speed. With the addition of obviously having echoes she controls, she is a very deadly opponent -- and caught Bell's Hells with the proverbial pants down. Her control of dunamis also allows her to control time somewhat, being a gravity-based magic. The only question I have is, what about her psychic abilities? Or did she merely train in those at the Assembly's Academy? The other part is, I think that if Bell's Hells somehow survive, a very old Martinet Ludinus Daleth will make an appearance. Keep in mind that Trent Ikithon has allegedly been imprisoned since Campaign 2. Another thread could be, what if Ikithon has somehow escaped after 30 years? And this mercenary is working for him? As it stands, Bell's Hells are in trouble. There is the possibility they could survive, if actions are taken in the right order. I also think Dorian will also return at some point, as the Hells have desperate need of a bard or other support class like FCG.

Its only been 7 years I believe from the end of C2 to the beginning of C3. Not 30. But still a good idea. They did see a combination of Cerberus Assembly crates and Treshi crates together (because Liam got confused between Cerberus symbol and caleb’s school symbol)

I feel like we get a new character due to the end of this episode. There are two pcs down, Laudna one fail away, and Imogen gave into her power. The way I see it, unless Laura needs a break from the game, if Imogen and Otohan vanish, Laura gets a new character. Otherwise Imogen and Otohan are still there which means the power release might kill Laudna and it’s going to be hard for FCG and Fearne to get revivifies off. Even if the beginning is a bit more narrative, I hope they stay in initiative until any possible revivifies have been dealt with. Time is so crucial for that so leaving the clear time structure of initiative would make it hard to track how long they have. That’s one of the things that’s been mildly annoying in the past for me. They’ll come out of initiative while someone is still making death saves and they won’t know or notice how many rounds are passing.

I was really distraught watching the last half of the episode, saying over and over that this was going to be a TPK, completely tearing up and crying several times while the fight was going on. I am really attached to many of the characters, including Imogen, Fearn, and Laudna (my 3 favorites), and I also love how good some of the characters are on the battlefield (including Oryn who is amazing). After watching this episode, I was kind of shocked, saddened, and quite a bit angry. Whether that anger was at Matt Mercer himself for his brutality, or at the players for their stupidity, I am not sure, all I know is that I was not happy with what happened. I hope I did not disturb my apartment neighbors, cause I was yelling a bit after the episode ended.

It needed to happen something I didn't like in C1 and C2 is sometimes they did stupid stuff and it seemed like more of a slap on the wrist that they got then actual consequences. This one they literally were doing donuts in the parking lot and laudna said hi. As well as Imogen literally attacked her with a spell. All that and odihan still did not attack until it was clear that they were not going to answer anymore of her questions. I would have been pissed if matt didn't go out on them in which he didn't. If he was truly brutal there would have been at least 4 Dead characters. Only really Imogen and possibly Ferne could have escaped.

I loved it. Not in a sadistic way. lol it was just….fantastic. If they are perma dead, which is still an if, I will be most sad for ashley because I think she was just having so much fun with that character. But the reason none of this upsets me, is because I trust matt and I know he will make great story out of it.

Fearne has either 1 or 2 third level slots left I think. She cast an 18 point heal in episode 31, she rolled 2 dice then rerolled one of them. It's up in the air if it was a reroll from the cocked die of a second level cure wounds or just the third die of a third level.

Sam said that, but I believe he was incorrect. At one point he stated that it was the same day as FCG turning and I am 97% sure they slept between that and attempting to contact Dancer again.

The party has been running pretty reckless for 33 game sessions, couldn't blame the DM for letting them pay for their choices, they could or run, they didn't need to stand and fight, they could of continued to flee... it's always said when PCs come to the end of their stories, but that's what keeps tabletop games interesting. Molly's death hit me way harder then these ones personally.
@GammaAlanna
@GammaAlanna Год назад
I feel like Molly's death has a lot of weight to it because the party was already in dire straights with 3 of the PCs being kidnapped. Also it was the first PC death at a lvl where there was no mechanical way to bring him back.

Well after tonight's episode I definitely feel justified in not really feeling for the party in the last episode, all but one made it out ok and there was some pretty heavy hinting at ressing the one that's still down... it's Matt's game and I respect his decision but something about how this played out just felt cheap to me, and more than a bit fudgey. But only the future will tell, hope the party thinks a bit more before they jump now.

6:10 I know it's a very popular and a likely theory but I don't believe that it's Devexian unless he did sell FCG for a purpose but other than that we know that Aeormotons have personalities and such things so that's basically human trafficking but robot version. That's just making me a bit uncomfortable.
