I’m an old industry music head! And the record company industry in our time and generation never promoted any music that spreads human violence. So here’s how to put an stop to it. Put a demand on the industry’s to stop 🛑 marketing materials with violent lyrics. And maybe! It will make a difference; and a change over some period of time. Because from then to now; the generational gap margin has been overwhelming, for more of a demand for positive music.

I don't listen to those new rap music anymore. I don't like what they stand for. Yet I have so many beats makers sending beats to my email and Ig dm every day. Eventhough some of the producers who listen to my music, yet sent me rap beats. I don't get it.

I don’t think you grew up in the inner city. Street rap or Trap is a sub genre of Hip-Hop music that SELLS. So it won’t stop unless you take away every hood in America. Then they will have no other choice to rap about “positive” things. It’s the current generation blues. You can’t just point out one artist and one song. It’s Art.

I don't know if I entirely agree. This type of music is conceptual art, meaning that what is important is the backstory. The fact that this happened (And it happens very often) is merely an example of why this type of music is important... This type of music wouldn't be doing as good if the lifestyle wasn't so popular. I agree and disagree. I'm a 55 yr old CEO of my record label for over 20 yrs and in the music business for over 30 yrs. Music is an art form that holds the freedom of speach. In 1990 Luther Campbell (Luke, Uncle Luke founding member of 2Live Crew and founder of Luke Records, the first southern record label from Miami, FL) fought for that first amendment right, winning the landmark case in supreme court which brought about the parental advisory sticker that we know of today. Expicit lyrics or clean lyrics, that is our choice as creatives. The same as it's your choice as a company to promote it or not promote it. The same as it's a consumer's choice to consume or not consume any style of music. Do movie companies get blammed for putting out movies that contains violence, horror, graphic, and nudity? Movies that we ALL consume. Does Samuel Jackson, an acclaimed actor gets blammed for the same "shoot em up" violence for having played these types of roles? My point is we as record labels our job is to put out MUSIC, an art form be it explicit or clean. A movie company's job is to put our MOVIES, an art form regardless of the content. We are in an entertainment industry, music or movies and our job is to entertain the consumer. Morals and principals I get it.
