Bro see if you can get an old Prius. Park it out the back/leave it on blocks, and run wires to the batteries that are in that. Alot of offgrid people are doing that now. It's heeeeaps cheaper than buying batteries

One thing I have pondered on is fitting water powered turbines in the gutters, or wherever works. Catch water and make power. Honestly I don't know how feasible it is though.

I consider that a 'glowing review' for Bluetti.Probably a bit late to suggest,but there's plenty of "window vent" solar operated fans for cars.Crack open a window and set them in.Will keep a car from baking.Doing a couple with a back to front,and vice-versa for shaded coolness in the bus.?Same for the living spaces near the eves.

Nice to see your pad coming along nicely Yep once you get a built living area and you aren’t going anywhere soon 🔜 then a bus is a rotting asset set it free so its wheels can turn its engine can purr off a cliff in to the ocean or the dam down the back parked in harmony with the boatavan and the x trail. @sickpuppycody

It can be charged from a 12v power outlet but the charge rate ain’t that high. Better off charging it from solar

Kody maybe you can give me some advice ive already got a 120ah battery almost identical to the bluettie one would it be better off doing a diy setup and getting another battery a 2000kw inverter and all the extra gear to know my input and output and by the end i will have almost double the storage. See my idea for it all is to be able to live off grid to a minimum all i want is to run my fridge 24/7 and keep my things charged maybe a laptop and or tv a few hours here and there but i want more storage then i need and sort of feel like getting a bluettie is wasting my lithium 120ah battery
@22MrHayden
@22MrHayden 2 года назад
I would prefer it compact and portable so i could go bluettie and use my other battery and have a smaller setup still in my car to run the fridge if or when i need to travel for a few days and some lighting
@sickpuppycody
@sickpuppycody 2 года назад
Honestly If all you are running is what you say then the Bluetti will eat it for breakfast. I would use the 120ah for just the fridge as a back up so the beers don’t go cold if you flatten the Bluetti and the Bluetti for everything else. Definitely have solar feeding the Bluetti during the day so it stays toped up and your setup will be hassle free. It’s only when you want to run a AC during the night it gets tricky

You need to get across the maths…if you do the maths correctly, you can size your system perfectly. Volts x amps = watts. Watts / volts = amps. It’s all relative. Eg 240V x 1Amp = 240w 12v x 20Amp = 240w Add up the total watts of absolutely everything…then work out how many hours you want stuff to run per day. Divide the total watts, by voltage your system will be…this will tell you how many amps you need to run it all. Amps & amp hours are 2 different things…batteries are rated in amp hours…which is how many hours it will run @ 1Amp draw…
@pauladams4890
@pauladams4890 2 года назад
Practice these calculations on 1 item first…(to get your head around it) then go from there… In a nutshell, the blueetti will use 20A @ 12v to make 1A of 240v… There are benefits of higher system voltage, which is thinner wire in the system. Voltage is like water pressure….& amperage is like the thickness of the pipe that Carries it. High water pressure, can flow the same amount of water through a skinny pipe…as low pressure through a fat pipe. If you go low voltage (pressure) you’ll need really thick wire (pipes) to flow the same amount of electricity (water) The best layman’s terms I can put this in…I hope it helps.

@reeloffroadadventure9076
@reeloffroadadventure9076 2 года назад
@@pauladams4890 why
@pauladams4890
@pauladams4890 2 года назад
@@reeloffroadadventure9076 they’re outdated tech… a lithium will last 2500-5000 cycles depending on treatment. An agm will last 500-800 depending on treatment. An agm will drop voltage as it depletes stored energy increasing system resistance…lithium will stay more constant voltage, then drop off only once completely depleted….an agm takes twice as long to charge as lithium. So when you consider all aspects….the lithium actually works out cheaper in the long run. It is a higher outlay initially, but an all round far better option than agm.
