It's amazing the variety of difference between what is considered essential between jobs. A rifleman, mortarman, medic, communication, artillery, light infantry etc all have vastly different priorities as to what they need accessable.
I think ATAK can be very useful even in civilian life. Using it to mark areas and just general navigation is enough for me to justify it. It's especially useful with meshtastic and a team who is invested in that tech.
Very good video. This kit is for a specific environment / scenario. Correct that a leader should not be overly engaged shooting in a firefight - therefore he needs less ready mags. Some environments demand more water. Grenades and smoke - where on the kit? Flares ? Entrenching tool? Tactical toggle rope or tubular nylon webbing section? Folding saw? Wire cutters? Comms cord? Cammo cream, body / kit scrim? Binos or monocular, prismatic compass?, etc.
A really informative video, again. Thanks! Is there any reason your friend mounted the side plates on the inside of the cummerbund? Maybe he could share his opinion/experience. The only reliable info about it that I found is: as much front and high as possible. Thanks and cheers!
