What to Do After a One-Lung Shot 

Great overview for one lung shot deer. Taking up trail this morning on my buck...blood was getting decent but decided to back out, give him time to expire.

The coughing buck they called him was a one lunged deer, he died of old age cause nobody , even the neighbors got him! It made him real smart!

That happened to me and lack of patience because I had work the next morning and I pushed the deer from his bed and never found him after days of searching

I've seen one lunged deer survive.

Shot a big buck, quartering towards me and going uphill. No blood at all, can’t find the buck, but the arrow is gone. Any thoughts?

Had a buck this year, double lung hit, with a 243 rifle, took me over 3 hours to find it because of absolutely NO blood trail. Shot was broadside at about 15 feet. No blood no hair, had to track it with my dog to find it. Can you give me any possible reason?? Shot was through and through found both the entry and exit holes. The interior body cavity was not full of blood either. Never seen this before. Advice??
