I would highly recommend not enabling X.M.P until you have windows completely installed and up to date sometimes when you first enable XMP it can cause a random blue screen

2:29 - best to leave XMP disabled whilst installing windows, it may cause instability issues whilst doing so

I probably restarted my pc like 10 times and reinstalling windows media creation. Turned out all I needed was xmp, I went to 4 different videos before I was able to resolve it. Thanks a bunch

You inadvertently helped me. I switched my OS from an HDD to an NVme drive but my system was taking forever to load. I realized that my NVme drive was probably not in the first boot position. I switched it and bam, super fast loading again. Thank you so much, it was driving me insane.

First build never enable the ram before installing everything, you want everything running at default for a stable update especially if you're doing a bios flash to prevent crashing

I can’t get past the network connection. My pc just doesn’t display any networks and doesn’t give me the option to skip

You want to turn the power button to 0 until you have all the the cables connected then turn it to the 1 (on) position. Think zero nothing 1 on to remember. I have seen spark come from the HDMI connector while changing cables at the back and been shocked a few times so yeah, 0 till your finished

Some motherboards you will hafto download the driver for your ethernet/wifi onto a thumbdrive and install it, and you should update your bios if your motherboard supports a newer cpu, just something i ran into haha

Hello everyone, quick question - One of the first steps in this video around 2:10 is overclocking the RAM, which I did and everything seemed fine, however, the next day my PC would not boot and it was because of this RAM overclock, I had to jump my CMOS pins for about a minute to reset everything and then I could boot. So my question is this - how can I have this RAM overclock but also be able to boot successfully? I noticed that this is a very common issue and there is many questions online asking exactly what I am asking here but I haven't seen a clear response yet, thanks for any advice! My relevant PC parts: CPU - AMD Ryzen 5800X RAM - Corsair Vengeance RGB pro (2x8GB) 3600mhz Motherboard - ASUS ROG STRIX B550-E

You should include formatting disk, if they use multiple m.2 or hdd

HELP. I built a new PC and I'm in the process of installing windows 11 from inserting a USB stick that has the windows installation tool on it. All typical stuff, except when I reach the "let's connect you to a network" bit. No wireless networks are being detected and the next button is grayed out, thus I can't proceed. I assume no networks are being detected as no network drivers are installed... so I'm stuck. Any advise?

Keep the BIOS settings factory out of the box until window's is installed or you can, and probably will have issues installing windows 11👌

Mine will not display with the graphics card.. I just builded a new gaming pc. My first one took me 12 hours to finally get it to come up on screen. But it was through the mother board. Everything I plug it into the graphics it won't come up. Plus now I'm stuck in a boot loop that won't let me reset the computer and start over. This is Unfortunate

Good info here, thanks for the video. I do have a question though and I haven't seen any other tutorials touch on it. Regarding TPM, how do I know if I need to add the extra step of enabling TPM? I imagine I would need to do that in the BIOS prior to beginning the Win 11 installation. I'm still ordering components for my build but to provide context; the MOBO is an Asus Crosshair VIII Dark Hero paired with a Ryzen 9 5950X.

A 2 year old video but a few important things to note from what I understand which might be wrong. If there are corrections they are welcome. I wouldn't enable XMP/DOCP before installing Windows as there might be instability(you can enable it later), you would need to fix this which would be by a BIOS update(or different RAM or even a different Motherboard) and you wouldn't want XMP enabled for a BIOS update either, when you install Windows you don't need to use a Microsoft account(or be 'online', connected to the internet, which I am pretty sure would be a local account instead) and I encourage you not too, there are guides for how to do this online(as a side note, you might get a popup when you update Windows asking you to use an Account and when that happens look up how to get around that) and I would disable all of the diagnostic and privacy options when installing Windows(personalized ads and anything similar as it just gives Microsoft more information on you for no reason), you can install the chipset drivers for your CPU from the manufacturer website just in case the ones from the motherboard site are out of date, then of course the other drivers you might want from the motherboard manufacturer will be there for you(LAN drivers and an audio driver), you can update the BIOS from the motherboard site as this will help with some optimizations and compatibility with some RAM/Memory(updating the motherboard BIOS isn't usually needed but you can), there might be drivers for some peripherals you have, your WiFi adapter/card, mouse, headset, keyboard and even your microphone(I am pretty sure these can all have specific drivers that Windows might not get the best drivers for) which I would get from each of their manufacturer websites and lastly you can install the GPU drivers without the Geforce Experience software in case anyone doesn't want that software(you will have to remember to update your GPU drivers though when updates release). If you don't have an NVIDIA GPU then get the drivers from Intel/AMD for their GPUs. After Windows is installed and the BIOS is updated(if you updated it) then I would enable XMP/DOCP. Then of course install any additional programs which you mentioned. Also set your fan curves and run benchmarks. Something I mentioned might have been perfectly stated and I missed it when I watched the video or I just felt like repeating it. Hope everyone enjoys their PC and has fun gaming/working/creating/consuming with it. As a resource the channel called JayzTwoCents might have some useful information that can help you with PCs.

After the last step, save and reset i dont push anything and it brings me right back to bios without hitting anything

Also here’s a tip don’t connect your pc to the WiFi when setting up that way it lets you avoid all that windows account log in shit and it’s easier only connect to the WiFi when you finished the install and set up

Hey so I just built my PC and it’s not displaying on the monitor. The pc fans, rgb on GPu is all working, I tried pressing del and or F2 but the bios won’t pop up either. Monitor keeps saying going into power saving mode.

I don't wanna be rude but some of these suggestions from this video will just cause more problems. First of all enabling XMP or EXPO is the last thing you want to enable after building your PC as it is essentially an overclock and can cause stability issues. Second is with the whole windows install and I would recommend for people to try bypassing the Microsoft account and disable all of the spyware that Windows prompts.

Why won’t my bios even open up

I can’t install windows on my new pc even after changing my bios around probably 30 different times. It’ll start installing and then 10 seconds later it’ll give a generic “something went wrong” screen. Btw I have a Tomahawk B550 mother board and currently trying to install windows 11 with a usb, although if 10 would be easier, I’d do it.

I built my first pc, and follwed the windows 11 installation procedure as u shown, but during the set up my motherboard is unable to detect my wifi signal, it unable to detect even an internet when i connect the ethernet cable , pls tell me wht could be the problem.

How do you know which one's the faster ssd? Mine is showing 2 as well but the top ssd is smaller
