The moment I stopped putting myself on a timeline and comparing myself to my friends/peers was one of the most freeing moments in my life so far. I realized everyone has a different path in life and we’re not meant to all be doing the same things at the same time. I enjoy school and learning, but I don’t want to be stuck in school learning about things that don’t interest me so why not take a little extra time and figure out what I want to do first? I’m hoping my upcoming two years in Australia will help me to narrow down my career options since I have such varying choices on my list
Ich wollte das mit dem reisen halt genau so machen. Hab mir ein Jahr freigenommen & jetzt darf man nicht mehr ins Ausland und ich steh vor einem Jahr und hab keine Ahnung, was ich machen soll haha
Shit haha, es ist einfach alles gerade nicht so optimal 😅 hier in Australien wird die Situation immer besser weswegen ich mir persönlich vorstellen könnte, dass es ab Oktober/November wieder möglich ist einzureisen aber so sicher weiß das halt leider niemand

Travelling alone is literally the most liberating thing ever! You won’t regret it and you will meet so many people while travelling. I started with a friend but she flew home after a couple months so I travelled on my own for several weeks and literally met the best people ever! 😍
Danke, dass das mal jemand sagt mit der Uni. Ich kenne so viele, die einfach nur studieren wollen, aber noch nicht mal wissen was, hauptsache studieren. Eine Ausbildung als Abiturient wird leider immer noch nicht wirklich gesellschaftlich anerkannt 🤷🏽♀️
Ich bin so froh, dass ich aufgehört habe darüber so zu denken (in mein Inneres gehört hab) und nun höchstwahrscheinlich nach der Schule (Abi) eine Ausbildung machen werde, für einen Job der mich hoffentlich erfüllt. Schließlich sollte man sich etwas suchen, dass einem Spaß macht&nicht einfach nur studieren, weil man es so macht und man ja Abi hat
Totally agree. I think in Germany especially there is a lot of pressure to pick your "perfect" career, stick with it and do it for the rest of your life. It's a very straight forward and rigid country. Aussies (among a lot of other cultures) are a lot more relaxed about this.

Man merkt wie viele gedanken du dir machst und gemacht hast und wie fucking intelligent du bist und trotzdem kommst du so locker und natürlich rüber. Danke für dieses video! Ich bin auch schon 24 und ja schon soo alt und sollte jetzt am besten studieren weil es später ja nicht leichter wird jaja bla.. Ich wollte vor 2 jahren schon nach australien aber hab den arsch nicht hochbekommen und stattdessen den meister gemacht, nur um danach genau das gleiche zu tun. Jetzt wo man nichtmehr verreisen kann zieht es in der seele und da sehe ich plötzlich dich. Und du lebst genau die lebenseinstellung die ich mir nicht zugetraut hab weil sich reisen in meinem kopf so kompliziert darstellt. Danke fürs teilen deiner erlebnisse, ich hoff dass sie nie enden. Jetzt muss ich nurnoch irgendwann jemand wie dir begegnen der alles mit mir durchplant und ich bin weg aus münchen ;D großen respekt an dich ✌

Danke für dieses Video !! Ich habe letztes Jahr mein Abi gemacht und war bis März in Spanien als Aupair. Jetzt bin ich wieder zuhause (danke Corona) und fühle diesen gesellschaftlichen Druck mich JETZT festzulegen was ich machen möchte und mich JETZT an Unis einzuschreiben. Dabei merke ich ganz tief in mir drin, dass ich Zeit brauche und einfach noch reisen möchte um das zu finden, was mir wirklich gefällt. Dein Video hat mich echt ermutigt, mutig zu sein und doch zu reisen. Oder zumindest an andere Optionen außer an ein Studium zu denken.
@@travelwithlille It was a really good video :) I'm taking a gap year and basically want to do a ski season, probably work as an au pair and travel for a few months (hopefully haha) and was thinking more Eastern Europe but your and whitetulips videos have really inspired me to go to Australia and South-East Asia so I guess I'll see where life takes me, and then probably go to uni in 2021
Ja das mit dem Reisen hatte auch so vor wie du. Ich war dann auch fünf Monate (ab November)in Australien aber musste vor kurzem zurück wegen naja... der aktuellen Situation Als ich zurück kam hat mich das richtig fertig gemacht, dass alles so blöd geendet ist aber so langsam muss ich mich damit halt abfinden, leider konnte ich meine Farmdays nicht vollmachen, das ist dann natürlich nochmal besonders schade dass es auch in Zukunft nicht mehr möglich sein wird Jetzt muss ich entweder eine Ausbildung oder ein Studium anfangen (obwohl so gut wie alle Ausbildungsplätze für dieses Jahr schon besetzt sind) und weiß auch überhaupt nicht was, allerdings versuche ich die Situation trotzdem so gut wie möglich zu nutzen und einfach irgendwas zu machen :D Wie du sagtes es ist learning by doing und wenn ich eine Ausbildung/Studium mache was mir dann doch nicht so gefällt kann ich mich ja umentscheiden, es ist ja nicht in Steingemeisselt Also man kann keine falsche Entscheidung treffen, und selbst wenn euch das was ihr macht nicht gefällt könnt ihr jederzeit was neues beginnen, das ist keine endgültige Entscheidung man verändert sich ja auch selbst und seine Interessen

Alle sagen mir “ja du kannst eh nicht reisen wegen Corona, also melde dich doch für ein Studiengang an “. Ich habe die Hoffnung noch nicht aufgegeben das es klappt, weil ich sonst echt nicht weiß was ich machen soll... hab da ein paar Träume im Kopf die mir auch jeder ausreden möchte. Ja versuche es einfach. Wie gesagt es weiß noch niemand was im November sein wird aber es ist schon gut möglich, dass Reisen wieder möglich sein wird. ⚡️
Meine Eltern wollen auch, dass ich studiere oder eine Ausbildung mache, aber ich möchte erstmal etwas von der Welt sehen und ich weiß nicht was ich später mal studieren will, also ist es echt schwierig.. Und von allen Seiten kommt die Frage, was ich beruflich machen will, aber was ist wenn ich es noch nicht weiß? (Bin 18)
Ja genauso ging es mir auch und ich verstehe auch warum sich Eltern sorgen machen, sie wollen ja nur das Beste für einen. Mir persönlich hat es aber sehr viel gebracht erst einmal reisen zu gehen und auf mich selber zu hören. Ich bin auch der Meinung es ist in Ordnung wenn man noch nicht weiß was man machen möchte. Lass dir Zeit und mach auf was du Lust hast 😊
It has always been my dream to become a pilot. I am now in the selection process for the KLM, but only 15 percent of the candidates get through. My backupplan was to take a gap year and go travelling, but as that isn't possible at the moment I will study an aviation related study in Amsterdam for a year and afterwards I will travel!
I am about to finish high school this year an I always planned to go travel Australia, before I want to go to uni. But because of cover 19 i can't go this year and it sucks. :( now I go to uni first and travel after that I guess. Ich liebe deine videos by the way :)

travelwithlille yeah i still have a little hope there will still be a chance to go travel this year but I don’t want to be too hopeful :/. I definitely want to study something that has to do with music and media but I’m still looking for the best opportunities. :) if traveling won’t work this year i will definitely go after uni like a 100% and i CANNOT WAIT😍! Probably it also has some advantages because I’ll already have a degree and stuff so I’m probably less independent but idk :)
@@janabanana4145 Same. Schätze jetzt einfach mal, dass du Deutsch bist? Ich hab meinen Flug im Oktober und ich hab mich da locker schon seit 2 Jahren oder so drauf gefreut. Arbeite jetzt nach dem Abi dann auch noch für drei Monate, um nochmal ein bisschen mehr Geld reinzukriegen. Ich hoffe so sehr, dass das klappt, zumal ich auch noch nicht weiß was ich studieren möchte und deswegen jetzt einfach erstmal eine Zeit im Ausland verbringen wollte
@Viktoria Mertens ja same! Ich wollte eigentlich auch ab September ungefähr reisen aber jetzt kann man nichts planen und wenn ich mich jetzt zum studieren entscheide muss ich mich ja schon im Juni oderso einschreiben ahhh corona stresst sooo 😂😫😫
What you’re saying is so true, really nice 🥰 I actually do have an idea about what I definitely want to do (study medicine) but I always wanted to travel before going to uni. I wouldn’t care about being able to travel some months later due to our situation rn and I’d just work here to save money. The problem is I won’t be able to save as much as I need for a trip because I‘m only allowed to earn a tiny amount per month and I don’t have anybody who could support me so that makes me pretty sad and idk what to do :(
I’m 37 on Monday and have not a fucking clue what I’m doing with my life 😂 I’m from England but also currently live in Australia. Winging it really. Want to see of much of this country as I can and wait out covid I guess and see where we end up! I did go to uni but never really done anything with my degree. Maybe I will do but who knows?!

hey ich überlege nachdem abi auch work and travel zu machen, aber ich habe niemanden mit dem ich das machen kann...denkst du man kann genauso viel erleben wenn man alleine fährt?
